how do yu read these days? digital? analogue? do you borrow? do you buy? what devices do you use to read? what libraries and bookstores in Berlin would you recommend? Are there anarchist, queerfeminist (...) libraries you can recommend?

I am so opaque I am disappearing -
The white feminist woman told me I could use Farsi, but only if I used it as an ornament. She said Farsi is "incomprehensible to people in Berlin" and that it would make my artist catalogue "opaque."

I will wake up as a peach tomorrow
A remarkable miniature from the Kitab al-Bulhan illustrates a unique biological myth: an entirely female society that sustains itself through botanical reproduction. The painting shows human figures growing like ripened fruit from the branches of the Waq-Waq tree. According to legend, once these figures reach maturity, they detach and fall to the earth, crying 'Waq-Waq!'—a sound that gives both the island and the tree their name.
The Arabic text at the top of the image reads:
القول على شجرة الواق واق (Al-qawl 'ala shajarat al-Waq Waq) This translates literally to: Discourse on the Waq Waq Tree.

Mirajnameh [The Book of the Prophet’s Ascension], Herat, c. 1436, Bibliothèque nationale de France, MS Supplément Turc 190, f. 34v.
"The illustration from folio 34v of the Mirajnameh depicts a monumental celestial being encountered by the Prophet Muhammad during his nocturnal journey. Characterized by multiple tiers of human heads emerging from a single set of shoulders, the figure represents an angel of immense proportions and linguistic capacity. According to the accompanying text, the angel possesses seventy heads, each equipped with seventy tongues, allowing it to praise the Divine in seventy thousand different languages simultaneously.
The composition reflects the Timurid court style of Herat, evidenced by the delicate, rounded facial features (often referred to as 'moon-faced'), the vibrant lapis lazuli background, and the intricately patterned cloud-scrolls at the top, which draw from Chinese (Yuan/Ming) stylistic influences. The angel’s large, polychrome wings—rendered in shades of purple, gold, and green—emphasize its high rank within the celestial hierarchy."
That being said, fuck all gods and fuck all nations. This world is dystopian and I feel like I am in a constant state of mourning trapped in a state of inbetweeness.

*let it burn a thousand times*
Performance & 1-channel video installation
“Let it burn a million times” is a clandestine act of self-documentation. This work is as a nonlinear, condensed meditation on returning. It documents a moment when personal narrative collides with the premonition of geopolitical and personal separation, transforming a simple act of filming into a profound, accidental elegy for belonging.

"Sound of a Million Insects, Light of a Thousand Stars"
directed by Tomonari Nishikawa.
"I buried a 100-foot (about 30 meters) 35mm negative film under fallen leaves alongside a country road, which was about 25 km away from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, for about 6 hours, from the sunset of June 24, 2014, to the sunrise of the following day. The night was beautiful with a starry sky, and numerous summer insects were singing loud. The area was once an evacuation zone, but now people live there after the removal of the contaminated soil. This film was exposed to the possible remaining of the radioactive materials."

OPEN CALL:
"WEIRDO VISIONS & RADICAL DREAMS"
We’re calling filmmakers, video artists, and visual storytellers to submit your decolonial, weird, DIY, queer and experimental short films!
We’re especially drawn to work that explores:
Memory tangled with dream
Interspecies and queer kinship
Soft storytelling and shapeshifting
Code-switching and anti-hegemonic mythologies
Revolutionary rituals and decolonial visions
Solidarity as practice, story as resistance
This is a space for the feral, the tender, the haunting, the hilarious, the too-much, the not-enough, the unclassifiable.
Bring us your underbed monsters, your glittering ghosts, your glitchy archives, your campy creatures, your dissident diaries. We want your low-budget magic, your sweaty dreams, your intimate rebellions.
DEADLINE MAY 16th!
Taking place on May 30th at Denkodrom in Essen, DE

Berlin people: Do you want to carry one of these creatures on your skin?
This is my April Tattoo Flash, inspired by my research on orientalisims and ornaments, mainly in Iranic cultures.
Queer little dancers of their own, ready to be your companion and fight against those evil eyezzz.
Each creature goes out only once.
The amount you pay for the tattoos will be used to for my upcoming film project „yek million bar besoozāt“

‘marā beboos’ (مرا ببوس/kiss me), irān, 1957
hasan golnaraghi

as part of an ongoing multimedia work on the topic of “disorientations and ornaments”, in which i deal with Iranian mythology and western orientalism, i have started to build creatures (one of my oldest forms of expression).
Here's a ceramic friend I made last summer.
Building worlds with different expressive outcomes comes with it's own way of disorientations.

Hi there, this is a scene from my movie Roya*
starting over here and will be posting mixed stuff: my art, research and things that inspire me.
I'm also interested in community building in Berlin and anything that has to do with organising against this unjust world.
🪬🧹🪞🧞‍♀️
Roya
An experimental film that blends dream, memory, and reality to explore themes of belonging, displacement, and identity. Using video footage from the director’s first trip back to Iran after leaving in the 1990s, the film revisits a road trip from Isfahan to Sari.
