I have no doubt you are far too ethical to do so, but dang you could make a hell of a tidy sum "creatively investing" prior to publication!
And since the info you found was technically public (or at least was found by outside sources that, theoretically any investor could have found) it wouldn't even be insider trading.

I watched Starship Troopers for the first time last night and I've been thinking a lot about it today. Not just the movie itself, but also how it was received in 1997 vs today.
Also thinking about the difference between parody and satire, and how something can change from one to the other based on when and where it's being watched.

I was watching a video about urban raccoons that mentioned that raccoons who were more shy/calm showed higher intelligence than those that were more bold/aggressive, which totally supports the domestication process!
I was under the impression that something similar is happening in Britain with urban foxes.

I read a great scifi short story on this. The main character starts to notice that all his friends/neighbors that have lost jobs to AI are suddenly getting alternate forms of income. Unexpected settlements, art commissions, selling clothing designs, etc.
He discovers that it's all fake. The money is actually coming from a secret UBI that AI set up to keep the economy afloat.
Really wish I could remember the name of that story!

Someone's kindness made me cry today.
My son's been attending a kids sewing class at a local fabric store.
The owner saw how much he loves it, and had offered to sell us a machine at a discount for him to use at home, but it was still out of reach for us financially. I told her we'd save up for it for Christmas.
Today she gave us that sewing machine free. She said she wanted him to be able to continue to sew at home.
Enabling his passion is such a priceless gift and I'm incredibly thankful.

Where the FUCK did all the hacktavists go? I seriously can't figure out why there's not more cyber push back.
If there were ever a time when it's moral to break the law it's now.
Why don't I see headlines about ICE being breached, or white house data leaked? Why aren't cronies like Musk and Banon being targeted?
The military is deployed in our streets, politicians are being arrested and shot.

Here's a super easy tip for cooking:
If you're cooking it in a pan then it's almost always okay to add garlic powder and onion powder.
It's a small addition that can make a big difference!

Yay for #python and ntfy!
My spouse is waiting for their state license for Paramedic to finally go through. It's driving them crazy waiting.
So I wrote a tiny script to check every 60 seconds and send a mobile push out using ntfy when the status says paramedic.
Thankfully the gov site uses a very simple HTTP request with no cookies needed and returns json, so it was a piece of cake!

You can't defend your rights unless you know your rights.
And people WILL try to deny you your rights.
I'm fighting with a school that has refused to give me records of an incident involving my child.
I asked the person to send me an email (we were on a call) stating that I requested the records and was denied, and she got very testy with me over that.
Thankfully I've got a friend who's a teacher, who gave me great advice on how to proceed.

Love this, I'm a huge fan of your work since I stumbled across it a couple of months ago.
Is there a way to read your comics in chronological order, or is it disjointed on purpose as an element of surrealism?
Also is there a way to buy printed issues? I'd love to have physical copies.
