I was looking at the BITE model and the 8 laws of thought reform, and it's literally what all religions do. I'm done. There's no healthy religion. They're all just cults of varying ages and sizes. And none of them are true.
Even my attempts to make a healthier ethical religion based on my seizure visions would eventually turn out like that if a baddie got too much influence.

I have seizures, visions, prophetic dreams, and witness miracles after I ask for help from God. So, I do believe in God on an experiential level. BUT, big caveat, I do not know the correct way to follow to make God pleased with me, and I feel untethered. I want something to hold onto that not only improves my life, but the lives of others. I was just reading about low church protestantism and 2nd century ecstatic practices, and their similarity to helenic and eastern mystical practices, and then an article on catholic ritual ecstacy... and I'm just sitting here trying to see a difference that probably is just window dressing anyways.

I've tried 51 religious belief systems. I felt pretty much the same with all of them. And experienced the divine aspect essentially the same in all of them. Their books and rituals are varying levels of culty (in a negative to positive gradient, or plotted along a line from less to more healthy).
After all this, I might just sort of f off and quit trying. Like, if it's meaning I'm after, maybe there's some merit to believing, like, it's beneficial to keep you from going off the rails and becoming a self-destructive hedonist. And it is comforting. But is any of it real? Or is it just that the way my brain is wired makes me think unreal things are real? IDK.

I find the experiences and lifestyles of the founders of religions to be very relatable. A lot of their observed behaviors and what happens when they receive messages from their culture's divinity seems to be explainable by a combination of epilepsy, autism, and significant trauma in childhood. Some have more extreme experiences, and some very mild. And ancient people would have assumed the cause was divine in origins...
Their actual moral compass has more to do with how their religion turned out than their perception did, I think.

sure would, but that wasn't what was articulated. When I asked for the proof, it was just the same phrase over and over and over. I'm open to the idea of using a different OS, if it can be used for what I need it to do, and if I can wrap my head around it. But I have tried other linux and linux adjacent operating systems in the past and it was torture. And ubuntu bricked a desktop PC once at my farm when I was with my family. It couldn't be used until we put windows on it because the bug was impossible for us to fix ourselves and there was no meaningful help available to have it fixed by an outsider. Debian and redhat and OG linux were also pretty useless for our needs when we ran into bugs. I'm not using this to kill time, it's for a business to try to get out of poverty. But once I start making money, I lose my safety net. So, without a saftey net, it had better work or I'm fucked.
The issues I have, and need assurances for are:
1. if a problem arises, and I can't figure it out, how will I be able to fix it without just losing all my data and reinstalling the OS?
2. how will I make software I need to run my content creation business work on a custom OS if I don't understand the programming languages and there's no tech support for it?
3. I don't actually like windows, but I feel like i have no other options because most software is made to run on it, and it only. So I would need significant assistance to make it work, and simply repeating "this is better" doesn't put money in my wallet or food on my table, it legitimately has to work consistently and reliably or I am very fucked.

wikipedia's islam articles tend to be edited by people who want to make islam look good. It might undermine some arguments made by salafis if it was widely known that early hanafi madhab scholars regularly read the bible as context. Though at present, it is less common to do so, Imam Abu Hanifa did it himself which is why shellfish is haram for Hanafi madhab muslims.

these references too. So I'm trying to find where the Bible describes with the adj Makr, because in Hanafi tradition, the Bible is context for understanding the Qur'an. So, if you are unsure of the meaning of an ayat, you compare it to the Torah, Psalms, Proverbs, or the 4 Gospels, and use that as the context in which to understand the verse in question. In this case, I'm trying to see how Makr is used in the Bible, in Hebrew and Aramaic, to counter the revisionist Muslim argument that Makr means "plan" and not "deceive".

I'm an obligate omnivore. My mother's side, and indeed myself as well, we can't really digest most vegetables well. If I don't eat enough meat, my health rapidly deteriorates. We have the (rare in the west) Arctic Eurasian type of digestive system. The type that causes major problems if we eat too much fruits, beans, and other high fiber foods. But is okay with fermented dairy, fish, meat, and grains. We can handle most root vegetables. Root veg do not tend to be good sources of complete proteins. Like I said, beans are basically not digestible. Peas get half-digested. Our best grain is rye. Rye makes the gut happy.
Traditional food from before coming to America was rye and wheat breads, meat, fish, game, fermented pork, aged cheese, butter, fermented buttermilk, vegetables and herbs from the carrot family, herbs from the sage/mint family, brassicas that had been fermented with salt or with whey, wine, beer, mjod, onions, garlic, mushrooms. That's it. It wasn't that much variety of veg. And honestly, there were parts of my grandpa's family that subsisted almost entirely on reindeer meat, carrots, onions, fennel, and a rye bread called ghakko that was baked directly in the hot coals, but they were herder nomads whose idea of a good time was getting high on reindeer urine. (make em eat the red cap mushrooms and their pee becomes an intoxicating beverage, deer have better livers than people, so the mushrooms make us sick, but not the deer, and the metabolite of the poison is a deleriant.)

When it comes to scriptural contradiction, it's not that big of a deal in Christianity. The books are only said to be divinely inspired, not the verbatim words of God. Not so for the Qur'an. The Qur'an claims to be the eternally existing verbatim words of God. So, if it contains contradictions, inaccuracies, and lies, then it is a major problem. But according to the Bible, it is inspired instead of verbatim, except for a few scattered quotes. And when the Bible contains mentions of an eternally existing word, it is referencing Jesus or else a power of creation which can be examined in the light of the Gospels to be considered to be pre-birth Jesus. The Qur'an is claiming essentially to be the written form of the Word, but it doesn't hold up to scrutiny even by its own internal standards. But if Jesus is the Word, then the Bible containing contradictions, problematic edits or alterations isn't a dealbreaker, since it basically represents the human perception of events, cosmology, theology, etc... And it has many different authors who have different perspectives. And these are all undeniably human authors. For example, the authors of Matthew, Mark, and the epistle of James appear to be on the same page. But Luke, Acts, and the Pauline Epistles appear to be by a different school of thought. And then the gospel of John and the Revelation are clearly completely different in nature. The other Epistles, it is hard to tell where they come down. I have classified these schools of thought by how they treat the importance of prior Jewish tradition and the Torah after reading them thoroughly. Though I personally find that they all have good points. I see it like this, that both the Semetic Christianity and the Greek Christianity are needed. Because in the Last supper story, there's something you can only see if you're familiar with the original languages. Aramaic is somewhat mutually intelligible with Arabic. Hebrew as well is very similar. The Hebrew word for bread is the same as the Aramaic and Arabic word for meat. It's a homonym. And the Koine Greek word for wine also means blood. So the symbolism here in these homonyms is not only in the gesture and the ritual. But also in the linguistics of needing both the Semetic and Greek understandings. Both the Jerusalem Church headed by James, and the understandings of the Romans who were following Paul.

Both are technically the same thing, the only major difference being whether it is done with caution or support of the law. And also ending forced prison labor. And there is some slavery in nearly every Muslim nation, plus the US and Thailand. It's still a very common thing. The 14th ammendment doesn't abolish legal slavery, it only limits it to prisoners. Khamr ul Ajwa recipe just dropped if anyone wants to make a categorically forbidden alcoholic beverage. It's an explanation of how not to accidentally turn your date punch into booze. But if you follow it in reverse (do exactly what it says not to do), you effectively have a 7th century Arab wine recipe right there. So, I'm trying it with 1.5 lb each of deglet noor dates and golden raisins, and about 1.75 gallons of water. I boiled the wort and used commercial yeast to keep it from turning into vinegar, so please use your best judgement.

Later, she had 2 Caliphs after her father assasinated, and led the sunni faction in a war against Ali's followers, and caused all the division in the muslim community that people fight over to this day. Destroying the legacy of the man who destroyed her childhood, like an absolute boss.

That's right, you make some figure or thing up and ask them about it. A bullshitter can't stand to lose, so they will lie about that thing you just made up, thereby failing the test. But someone who really knows will say they don't know of that thing or that that's biullshit, thus passing the test. Mo failed by making up the dq story. This also explains why the Jews were satisfied with the answer, but didn't convert. It confirmed their suspicion that he was a grifter.

I'm sort of developing my own exegesis of the bible based in logic. Testing ideas against God's nature as transcendent love to see if they are from Him or not. Jeremiah 8:8 is a verse I wrestle with.

This church makes me feel proud of human ability. But going to a remote area without light pollution and looking at the sky on a clear night makes me feel like an insignificant insect. Orion is my favorite constellation. Looking at his left shoulder and there's a red giant star... in the vicinity of his belt and sword is a nebula around a black hole. And for some reason, his sword has noticably drifted in my lifetime. Some several millions of years ago, something happened that moved those stars, and the light has only now reached us that we might see the difference. We humans are not so important.

Hearing Muslims argue about magic is cute. Like, "such and so wrote a prayer down on paper and tried to stick it in the crack in the wall at a mosque, they must be a witch!"

Have also read Daoist scriptures, the Eddas, Sagas, various BOS of modern pagans, Greek and Roman and Egyptian Mythologies, and used to dedicate myself to the Roman Goddess Libertas Mater, and had tried many religions. 50. Was even into Proto-Indo-European Reconstructionist Polytheistic Shamanism. (Not dissimilar in structure to Shinto.) Was also an Ise School Shintoist, an Inari Shintoist, and a Kokokyoshi (follower of Konkokyo, a monotheistic Shinto sect). I have also tried Temple Satanism (non-theistic humanist religion that rejects the brutality of monotheistic faiths and worships one's own potential as a human being, essentially autoalotry).

I used to be Buddhist. I tried 4 schools of thought in Mahayanna and also 1 in Theravada. (50 religions is over 1/3 of all major religions). Used to really dig the Maezumi linneage Soto Zen teachings.
Have read the Vedas and Baghvad Gita. And also the Pali Canon, Heart and Lotus Sutras, and used to try to emulate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Guansiyin Pusa/ Kanzeon Bosatsu).

Christian Science was my first religion, and my second (which I was forcibly converted to with beatings) was Evangelical Protestantism in the tradition of Billy Graham. I have also been Baptist, Methodist, Neo-Ebionite, and Messianic. And then also briefly tried to convert to Judaism, and also have been several types of Muslim. (I couldn't make it stick.)

It's never gonna work out. I can't deny my cultural heritage to find a religious community and be happy and heal at the same time.
I also can't meet the baseline standards required for the different monotheisms. And some of them, have... issues. Okay, being real, the problem of hell makes me think they are lying about their teachings in general. I tried to resolve it. It's irresolvable.
So, irreligious but with authenticity in cultural presentation. (And not fuckin telling a soul in my town that I left Islam.)

As far as I'm concerned, Islam is a Christian sect. Though I know it developed from Hanifism, the religion of the followers of Abraham, and it just so happens that Hanifs of that era believed that Jesus was the Messiah. If Jesus is from the Israelite religion, then Muhammad is from the Arab Monotheistic religion Hanifism. His grandfather Abdul-Muttalib was a Hanif. And that's who raised him after his parents died. However, since Hanifs recognized the Messiah and accepted him, they became a flavor of Christianity. Like how Israelites became Ebionite Christians. Arabs became Hanifi Christians. It wasn't the Greek or Roman variety. It was it's own thing. And they had their own traditions passed down concerning their own prophets (Salih and Idris for example), and Muslims call Jesus Isa like the Ebionites in Syria did. Isa is the East Aramaic spelling common in the 4th-6th centuries among Ebionites in that region. And Ebionite Christianity is basically Islam with slight fiqh differences and one less prophet.
(judaism didn't really exist until the late 1st century, and Jesus wasn't Judean, he was Nazarean. There were 3 Israelite religio-ethnic groups in Palestina at the time. Nazareans, Samaritains, and Judeans. Judeans became Jews at a later date. Samaratains still exist in Nablus, Palestine. This is the same sort of situation. As with everything else, Jews wanna claim shit that aint theirs. Jesus wasn't Jewish. Jews didn't exist yet.)

lol... yeah. js, because like, the reason they get persecuted tho, is probably because christians don't want to let them call themselves christian, because if they do, then muslims are also christians. It's the same set of things that make it different. (the specifics are different, but it's still a Jesus-heavy monotheistic religion with a post-jesus prophet and its own extra book of scriptures delivered to said extra prophet by an angel.)

Yeah, it has to be political. Because frankly, if someone considers Mormons to be a type of christian, then Muslims count by the same criteria. Like, Bible + other book is still the same basic religion. Same God, same prophets, different interpretation, and then just different understanding of who the paraclete is. Muslims say it's Muhammad, Christians say it's the Holy Spirit, Mormons think it's Moroni (who game them the Book of Mormon).

If you want to know about Adam and Hawa (peace upon them), their story isn't that deep. Like, we don't see them as particularly deviant or as the origin of sin. They were lied to by Iblees, so even though they made an error in judgement, it was more that they were kinda nieve rather than flagrantly disregarding the rules. So when Adam repented of his error, he was forgiven. And of course, the sins of one person are the sins of only that person.
So you are trying to figure out if Muslims have original sin, and the answer is, no, absolutely not. We are not born in a sinful condition as a result of Adam eating some fruit.
Also, there's still time for Iblees to repent. The time between the sins of Iblees and the day of Judgement is metaphorically like a "go to your room and think about what you did" kind of thing. And instead of reflecting on his mistakes and repenting, he's decided to smear his shit all over the walls. My mom woulda beat my ass for that.

It really depends on knowledge and hikma when it comes to tafsir and ijtihad.
So, if someone hasn't read Seerah, understanding the context in which an ayah is revealed and reasoning out its meaning is going to be very mistake prone.
And then, you have hikma and ijtihad, one without the other is going to come to a bad conclusion. These are vital for developing the Quranic Tafsir which informs interpretation of Shari'a into a system of Fiqh.
Apologies, you may need a dictionary here. I would struggle to explain reasoning behind my inclusive and tolerant view without using correct terminology:
hikma = discerning wisdom
ijtihad = reasoning based on pattern
Tafsir = explanation of Scriptures
Seerah = biography or history
Shari'a = Commandments from scripture
Fiqh = specific rules derived from Shari'a by scholars.

translation:
We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ this Book with the truth, as a confirmation of previous Scriptures and a supreme authority on them. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires over the truth that has come to you. To each of you We have ordained a code of law and a way of life. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one community, but His Will is to test you with what He has given ˹each of˺ you. So compete with one another in doing good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you ˹of the truth˺ regarding your differences.
