Do we know if Linux plans to deal with the keyboard problem soon? This is a big issue. (And I’m not running some obscure distro, but Linux Mint.)
Right now a user has to go into the keyboard app EVERY TIME they start up the machine, and modify settings, before getting to work. Why can’t we have a default keyboard layout? This is a big deal because English cannot be assumed in 2026….

PSA, especially to our younger folks here: Don’t try to color match paint and then cover a small area. You don’t have to do a whole room before calling it a day, but always PAINT THE WHOLE WALL - corner to corner, edge to edge - because the color *will not* match.
Alternatively, you might save a small amount of money on a quart of #paint versus a gallon, but then you pay the price of looking at this (see photo) for as long as you procrastinate dealing with the consequence 🙂‍↔️

Language learners, do you use Mango Languages? I have what could be an interesting question. For Spanish in particular, I’ve noticed what sounds like incorrect audio. Audio for,

How is Boston doing with car dependence? As it is, I get the sense that most residents outside of downtown are compelled to have a vehicle. Part of that is the overall illness affecting a broad swath of Americans (car brain), but we also have real infrastructure issues that almost mandate ownership. Given that ICE "agents" have been hiding in unmarked vehicles and covering their faces as they go around kidnapping people, I fully support folks using great force to stop them. Not that I'm recommending or suggesting it, but the reaction makes sense. Self-defense.
The goons should be scared. Also, this is a job that *no one* has to do, so any fear on their behalf will not suffice as justification for how poorly they treat people. They have zero right to kidnap or take away due process.

it also provides an interesting case study in policy failure. Large vehicles may not be classified the same way as smaller ones. Throughout much of the 2000s so far, car manufacturers built SUVs to avoid fuel efficiency requirements.
We've also failed to deal with car brain for the most part, so we still allow personal vehicles of just about any size in most of our cities. Smh. But that's another related topic
