I updated my Norton 360 software and turned on my Norton 360 VPN connection and it looks like this has resolved the issues I've been having.
I've never had to use a VPN connection before on this laptop. Quite interesting.

Firefox has the same issues.
Seems like the Wi-Fi connection itself seems a bit flaky, which would explain a lot of things. Perhaps the laptop internal Wi-Fi is going out.

I'm running Windows 10 Home on a Dell laptop that is about 6 years old and use Google Chrome as my web browser.
For about the last 3 weeks, I've had a lot of issues with websites that I commonly visit not loading intermittently and with Google search itself intermittently not loading results until I've tried repeatedly.
I know there have been multiple Chrome updates during this time frame, but I seem to be having the same issue with Microsoft Edge.
My iPad and iPhone work fine (using Safari) and they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (I'm using an Xfinity/Comcast XB8 Wireless Gateway).
I've tried clearing Chrome cache, cookies, etc. and flushing the DNS on my laptop (no success).
Any suggestions on what to try to resolve this issue?

Ok, just to get this straight in my own head....
Nog loaned Sisko's desk to Al Lorenzo, the Chief of Operations on Decos Prime (so he can take pictures of it for his collection of pictures of the desks of famous Starfleet Captains).
Lorenzo is giving Nog and O'Brien an induction modulator. The USS Musashi needs one.
The Musashi is giving them a phaser emitter. The USS Sentinel needs one.
The Sentinel has the extra Graviton Stabilizer that is required to repair the Defiant.

Another great performance by Jeffrey Combs as Weyoun 6 (and Weyoun 7). My favorite DS9 role of his is Liquidator Brunt. Such great performances all around by this actor in the series.

Star Trek 2009 was released in movie theaters 17 years ago today.
They filmed some scenes at the Van Nuys, California Anheuser-Busch Brewery (when I was working there), including the shuttle scenes on Delta Vega with Spock, Kirk and Scotty. I got to tour the shuttle....very cool indeed!

Currently re-watching DS9 Seasons 6 and 7 (this has always been my favorite part of the series).
Recently finished E605 "Favor the Bold" and E606 "Sacrifice of Angels". Amazing two-parter!

Well, at this point I guess I'll start giving updates on the current "planned" power outage by Xcel Energy.
It's 2:30am local time. This 2nd "planned" power outage in 3 days began at 5am local time yesterday. Power is still out with an estimated restoration time of noon tomorrow (this could possibly be as late as Monday).
So, this is how I see it. Every time there is a threat of high winds for the rest of the month of December and into January, there will be more "planned" power outages that last multiple days. This is now the new norm.
We are first hand experiencing the impact of global warming on our daily lives, compounded by the reality of power company monopolies and the fact that they can do whatever they want to protect their own ass with no consequences or accountability.
This whole situation is beyond frustrating. It might be time to move to another state. How does someone live like this?

My first watch of SG-1 continues. A thread....
Just when I think that the last episode I watched was the best episode of Season 1, I have the same thing to say about the next episode. That is the case about this episode.....wow! Very enjoyable episode about some Teal'c backstory and a family we never knew he had.
The attempt to remove Teal'c's Goa'uld larva is unsuccessful and proves that the Goa'uld is Teal'c's immune system. I like how Jack refers to it as "Junior".
Jack learns that Teal'c has a son (Rya'c) and wife that he left behind on Chulak. Jack becomes a bit upset with Teal'c for not previously disclosing this info.
Jack additionally learns that Rya'c is about to "undergo the ceremony of implantation, the Prim'ta, they day when a young boy receives his frist Goa'uld symbiote and becomes a true Jaffa".
This is something that Teal'c doesn't want to happen because this is how the Goa'uld enslave the Jaffa, and Teal'c is adamant that is son will not become a slave to false gods.
Jack, Sam and Daniel try to convince Hammond to authorize a return mission to Chulak, but Hammond is suspicious of their reason and says "This is not my first barbecue" (great line).
Jack finally tells Hammond about Teal'c's family and tries to convince him to authorize the mission. "When Teal'c saved our lives on Chulak, he gave up his family, sir. Don't you think we owe him....
