Please don't go to GDC. They charge a lot of money when the main benefit is socializing outside the conference and add to that the danger of traveling to the U.S and GDC must end. I have a lot of problems with GDC and how they con attendees and speakers with "it's good for your career" bullshit. I haven't gone in years and won't in the future.

My 24 hour experiment with copilot is over. It does suggest some interesting completions but I spend too much mental energy seeing if it's right and it's a UI/hover mess that's too distracting.
I'm back to being 100% AI free.
That said, VSCode is a good c++ IDE, much better then I thought. Not as good as Xcode, but very workable. The thing I was looking for was break-points and stepping into code and it does it.

VR is dead. Normal people don't want to put blinders on and be cut off from the world. It freaks them out. It's also makes a good number of people sick. It also make them look like fools with that gear on their heads and normal people don't like looking like a fool. AR has a future when it's part of my contact lens.

Found my old S100 graphics card I got when I was 11. 128x128 resolution (64x64 if you wanted 16 colors). Made a lot of games with this in Z80 asm. I wrote a RPG game before I knew what RPG games were. Sending my old CP/M floppies to @npub1jwa…zqca to see if he get the data off them. I'm sure there is game design gold in there.

Last night I needed to add a feature to my Dinky Regex command using a new feature of the regex lib. I thought: "Hey I'll let AI do that like all the cool kids on YouTube! What a cluster fuck. First it wouldn't compile due to including the wrong headers, then the code was just wrong and broken. After an hour I deleted it and wrote it myself. Dear Vibe Coders: Rather then spending a lot of time fixing your AI code, why not just learn to fucking program.

I watched a YouTube video of someone using Vibe coding to make a game with AI. 45 mins in and it was running but spewing out error after error.
