I just placed an order for two more olive tree saplings. The first is a Spanish variety called 'Arbosana.' It is hardy down to 10°F once it is established. The fruit is said to make excellent brined olives. The second variety originates from Italy and is called 'Ascolana.' It is also hardy down to 10°F once it's established. The Ascolana olive is used to make a signature Italian snack called "olive all’ascolana" where the olives are pitted, stuffed with a seasoned meat, then battered, and fried!
I ordered them from One Green World, located in war-ravaged Portland, Oregon.

What I need to find (and might already have amongst my hundreds of scattered pdfs) is a study that looks at legacy TRB DNA in Nordic Bronze Age samples, since the gene pole of Southern Scandinavia was quite stable by then and closely resembles modern, ethnic Southern Scandinavians.

Good question! I need to dig a little deeper into this article and its sources to find out.
Here's an edited map (my edit) from figure 2 with the percentage scale cut and pasted next to modern Danmark -- 40 to 50%. Again, hard for me to believe it's that high.

I recently saw a study about the legacy DNA from Western Hunter-Gatherers, Anatolian Agriculturists, and Steppe Pastoralists in modern Europeans. I was absolutely stunned by the average amount of TRB remaining in Southern Scandinavians. I expected maybe 5 - 7%. This study claimed it was 30 - 40%. I'm still having a hard time believing it's that high. I plan on reading it, again, to see if I misunderstood any of it.

Godmorgen. Well, the fence I put up to keep the deer out of my garden is NOT keeping the deer out of my garden. They destroyed 2/3 of my vegetable garden in two nights. So, I'm going to spend to morning figuring out how to remedy this -- land mines, maybe?

This is very true. I would add that the Finns and Norwegians, in the US, cling onto their culture the most. Most descendants of Danes and Swedes are invisible here.

From my reading, it appears most Europeans have a tiny bit of Mesolithic Age (Western Hunter-Gatherer) ancestry. But yes, most of their ancestry is definitely not indigenous.
