it’s a neat nugget but with the square screen a lot of apps just don’t know what to do and scale oddly
i’m running LineageOS from the beta builds and there’s a bunch of things that don’t work but it’s IMO a better experience than stock lol

Hey Fedi, I’m trying to fix a Sony PCG-QR3 my SO bought in really decent shape, untested. It seems like there’s a blown up capacitor(?) next to the “DC in” in the middle of the board :(
There seem to be no pictures or anything of this motherboard online but maybe someone owning one of these could open it up and check what the blown up component is exactly?

im in bed rn but iirc the usb-c ports list a version of the firmware which after everything no longer has a valid version listed
the port works in the OS but it doesn't seem to let me use Alt DP which im pretty sure worked before 😔 (which was pretty useful for debugging while it's rackmounted)

well your first attempt at coreboot has likely bricked my the front USB-C ports of the HP Prodesk in question so it's still running the stock UEFI and probably will until it breaks and gets recycled 😅
next machine will have to have some sort of a lights out KVM thing ;_;

hmm so it appears i'm having a lot of trouble setting up remote unlocking of my luks encrypted root
- manually patching mkinitfs to get a password prompt on boot sounds icky and silly, unmaintainable in the long run (type 3 fun when you remember you updated the package, are far away from the server and there's no one that can help you!!!)
- using intel amt (because I don't have a KVM handy) - hell if you want to do TLS. unencrypted serial-over-lan is scary when you're typing in your luks unlock password 🥶
- using an actual KVM - overkill but will work with any OS, but do we trust it?
so i guess this is where i fall flat with alpine for now. if i don't figure this out i think i'm going to think about debian again ;_;

I had some terrible results printing things that are supposed to be loadbearing :s
be mindful of shearing forces separating your layers (just look at my microphone adapter ... x3)
might wanna print in a different rotation, also checking for decent layer adhesion when you need extra strength ^^

I think I have a Kyocera A202KC
lovely little nugget but it sucks that it only has 8GB of RAM
at least it runs Android 10(?)
shame none of the GSIs work on it, but at least one can unlock the bootloader with the mtkclient exploit.

is there a reason why playing Gran Turismo 4 in PCSX2 is almost impossible on an i7-8550u Chromebox under Batocera? I'm getting slow downs on 1x render scale ;_; :akko_eew2:
