@nprofile…hjy6 I can't remember what I paid in 2007 😂, my memory says maybe £50 or £60, paying more than twice that this time. Not the best seats but about all I could afford when you take all the fees and taxes on top 😒
Yeah, there will likely be a skewing 'mature' demographic but they tend to indoctrinate their offspring and grandkids so should be a good range in the crowd 😂

Passports can be done 100% online here and have been like that for a while now
Took own digital photo, submitted as part of the application, the system did an analysis on the spot and said it was 'very likely to be accepted' or something like that before even completing the payment
Applied on the Friday, new passport arrived 8 days later on the Saturday

Low pressure tyre warning, luckily was driving close to a trustworthy tyre centre and even more lucky, they could look at the car straight away
Just been shown a spike of metal in the tyre, bloody sod it 😒

Thing is, my latest (2021) petrol car, you can hardly hear the engine and all the road noise is from the tyres which you get on EVs as well. Even moving slowly have had pedestrians not know I was there.
Have to balance ideology to practicality
If EVs work for you then great
They just don't work for me (and perhaps many other people) yet

it takes less than 5 minutes to drive on to a forecourt, fill up your petrol car, pay and drive off without having to fanny around waiting for your car to charge and 'enjoying a break' (which is how they sell it) plus them trying to incur extra cost for a coffee , rather than just getting on your way to your destination
Maybe just me, but the thousands of extra minutes that EV drivers incur charging on a daily basis might not be good for the economy?

Now the UK is out of the EU we're getting flooded with BYD, Geely and all sorts of Chinese EVs
But the underlying fact here is that home charging carries VAT at 5% and everywhere else is VAT at 20% plus the premium that the providers charge
So barely cheaper than ICE vehicles plus having to wait ages when you need to charge in a public place- and at a price that costs more than filling up at a petrol station
Not great...

I live on the South Coast of England, and need to be able to drive to Kent or the Midlands as a round trip without having to spend an hour charging
Hardly anyone here has a driveway so nowhere to charge your car on 'home' electricity which carries less VAT than charging at a public car park
Most EVs in the UK end up spending more to run than ICE vehicles and the govt have announced a per-mile tax to cover the money they will lose to EVs in the future

They have generally depicted men as dullards here too, it's normal advertising practice

A migrant has returned to the UK on a small boat after being removed to France under the "one in, one out" scheme less than a month ago
The BBC understands the man was initially detained on 6 August and was removed on 19 September, becoming the third person to be sent to France under the scheme. He returned four days ago on 18 October.
The male migrant - who the Guardian has not named - told the newspaper he returned to the UK because he feared for his life in France.
