Every currency that the Nostr protocol supports. But they can totally make other currency agreements too, that's none of my business. With NoorNote, I'm not acting as a payment provider here. Service providers can introduce themselves and their offerings, clients can reach out (via NIP-17 DMs), and whatever happens between the two of them after that is none of my concern.

Yeah, that's called an optimistic UI update, sometimes also optimistic rendering or optimistic concurrency.
The pattern goes like this: The client assumes the operation's gonna succeed and shows the expected result right away, before any confirmation comes back from the server, like a zap receipt from the Lightning node or relay, for example. If the confirmation doesn't show up later or it fails, the UI state gets rolled back.
Basically, you assume everything's gonna go fine and show the user the result immediately. It works out in like 99% of cases anyway. But I only use this technique for zaps. Everything else is the real deal.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. You can tell just by comparing the reaction counts on notes that make it into their top charts with ones that have even higher numbers but don't show up there at all. Otherwise, I don't get the point of a caching server like that if a bunch of replies, zaps, or notifications never even get displayed. Plus, a centralized caching server totally goes against the whole decentralized vibe of Nostr itself.

Every Distro decides for itself, I've heard. If they are Debian-based and Debian decides to support age verification, they can still remove it in their own distro. Like MX, it's deb-based but has also a sysvinit version instead of systemd.

Well, the systemd implementation apparently still makes the age entry optional, but it depends on the installed apps whether they request an age verificaation from the OS or not. Plus, Ubuntu hasn't made a final statement yet, only that they're currently reviewing it legally. But since they also have a lot of corporate clients, it's strongly expected that they'll comply. As I said, the near future will show, but I think it doesn't look good for Ubuntu.

MX = MEPIS + antiX
The distro got started back in 2014 as a collaboration between the MEPIS and antiX communities.
* M for MEPIS, which was an older Debian based distro whose main development got shut down in 2014, and their community was looking for a new home.
* X for antiX, the lightweight Debian based distro that still exists today in parallel and is also one of the distros that took a stand against age verification.
The antiX community still actively maintains MX Linux to this day. That's why both distros share a lot of tools, for example the MX Tools have antiX roots, and both offer sysvinit as an option, which is something you hardly see in mainstream Debian distros.

Okay, looks like my next distro is gonna be MX Linux. Because of all the systemd and age verification issues. Ubuntu and Fedora are totally out of the question for that reason, they want compliance.
MX Linux is deb based too and supposedly has this cool software center that pulls together all the package sources. People are already migrating from Ubuntu to it because of that. And no Flatpak crap. I'll probably go with KDE Plasma, I've got tons of RAM in my laptop. I can afford it. 😏

I can only guess, but the most common cause would be that the relay in the bunker:// token isn't reachable or isn't responding to kind 24133. Amber outputs the token with a relay=… parameter. If this relay is offline, slow, or has restrictive filters, you get exactly this error. You could try to regenerate the bunker token in Amber using a reliable NIP-46 relay like wss://relay.nsec.app.

Well, a lot of conspiracy theories are absolute nonsense, like the Flat Earth theory. But I heard from someone who was in the Freemasons himself that there are differences between the levels. The lower levels are supposed to be relatively innocent, not everyone is immediately out for satanic world domination. Some really mean well and make it productive. And the ones up there get a bunch of silly stuff made up about them anyway, because people have no clue what they are actually doing. It could be true or not. Fact is, we just don't know for sure.

I know his many works on finance and trade have rarely been translated into Western languages. I've only been able to read a few articles that summarize his books. His original works on financial topics are all still in the original Arabic. But he had some amazing views on it. For example, he saw trade and marketplace rules as a kind of complementary counterpart to the rituals of Islam. Like mosque <--> marketplace, prayer <--> zakat/sadaqah. So in short, he saw it all as one unified thing.
That wasn't meant as criticism from me either, but I just know that many Muslims don't know that about him, or can't.

This @npub15vs…wsy7 really showed me personally just how much potential there is in the community. Everyone who was there is a real visionary, honestly. Don't tell yourself "but I don't have anything to show for it" ... just the fact that you were there and you're interested in those topics already shows what rare potential you have inside you. 99.95% of people out there have no idea what's even going on right now. YOU know. Some of us are already ahead, getting things done, and YOU will do something later, I'm totally sure of that. Everything and everyone in their own time.

As I said before, there's a whole lot of hypocrisy and virtue signaling involved. Nobody cares about your coding skills, or rather, nobody pays extra for fancy code quality anymore.
