If humans are to gradually be replaced int their contribution of “labor” and Keynesian ideal of mass consumption and fiat is still the main vehicle for economic growth then UBI from government is necessary.
This looks like fake money paid by governments that have a tendency to shut down bank accounts of people and behaviors they don’t like. It means you stay on that hamster wheel forever and they make it harder for you to save the UBI you didn’t even work for. They will have more and more authority of what you buy now you invest and how long your currency holds value because tech deflation and falling birth rates means their Keynesian GDP game only keeps chugging forward if you spend faster and faster.
Your alternative is hard money. Some bullshit GDP number may not work as it used to but you’ll have more access to your things you need cheaper housing more time and more freedom.
The interesting thing is you can choose either world right now both options are just playing out in slow motion.

I am virtually certain this is how #NOSTR and the #Fiat system will play out.
There will be a threshold of users that is needed for a massive shift in our networks. This will happens sooner in some countries and for different reasons.
One country may experience it first because of lack of freedoms online that result in faster adoption. Other countries may lag behind. But after an adoption that is around say half of the people is a achieved a sudden shift will happen resulting in traditional networks we are familiar with that don’t include social media to be distributed.
Nostr is useful as social media too but in a different way. I can post to people who think like me have censorship resistance and even get paid sats for my posts. I also enjoy the content on my feed and learn more here. I however still pay a fee to use a network like Uber or Airbnb, it is not peer to peer and ends up costing us both money. I also have friends who don’t have lightning wallets and most won’t pay me on a network that can allow me to receive sats.
Once a threshold is met however Uber on Nostr would work because enough people would have a npub that they needed for a completely different use case. When that threshold is met Uber drivers will switch because the better incentives. This will happen for just about every closed network that now exists. I’m not sure the order or timing but I strongly feel that a decade is coming where these tech companies see a massive decline in their use case.
When this is happening #Bitcoin will already be eating up their monetary premium and the switch to Nostr will further drive adoption. The easy money to keep the traditional system solvent will of course be ridiculous.

It actually isn’t unreasonable that #Bitcoin can solve half of the world's problems.
Think of the world as a game with rules, decision-making, and randomness in terms of life position. Small variables can have big effects.
Imagine if fossil fuel never existed. How different would your life be today? What path would technology and society have taken instead? This represents a massive shift, similar to removing or adding an element from the periodic table.
Now, imagine adding a massless element indexed at zero on the periodic table. Only someone versed in code would see the solution to the current rules of the universe as adding a 0th element. I believe Satoshi may have thought this.
If this 0th element were added, it would profoundly change the world, especially if designed to interact and alter the existing world. It would have the greatest impact if used as a technology in every exchange (money) and changed how we interact with our environment, mainly in perceiving time and using energy (proof of work).

Everything from the food that gets subsidized to what the government says is a “healthy balanced meal” to science on nutrition is not the government looking out for you but understanding that the pushback they deserve from the public by going off the gold standard can only exist once food is too expensive. The foods pushed by the government and science are chosen because they’re prices are suppressed from subsidies and keep the public docile.
Kings once handed out bread when the public started rising up. Things have not changed.

If increasing block size a small amount would allow for the miners to get more fees in total and lower fees for the average person shouldn’t that be a good thing?
I agree that block size should not be increased at the expense of miner revenue but would think that block size should be somewhere close to where miner revenue is maximized. Open to having my mind changed on this, Satoshi essentially had to guess what would create some scarcity of block size the first decade and after that it’s on market forces.

Scarcity of the money leads to abundance of everything else.
The willingness of saving the medium exchange as a store of value will simply reduce the number of sats that account for the output of the economy. The incentive to get the deflationary money if you are a human actor or robot/ai will be incredibly high in the short term, you must contribute to bring the cost of production down to do this in a fair economic system.
After you have some sats you buy according to incentives from within rather than ones imposed via inflation. Your consumption will not include unnecessary fiat crap to fill a garage with and will further bring down prices.

There will be a time after #Bitcoin is the base layer of the global economy where if it has stabilized or only slowly gains more of a % share of all wealth. When that happens the majority increase of spending power of individuals will come from the deflationary force of technology. Based on the amount of M2 increase it takes to just achieve the feds target CPI inflation rate that number will certainly be greater then 10% as it is already around that today.
Even if the deflation rate is just 10% that means that whatever your bitcoin stack you could continuously spend 10% of it for eternity and your living standard would stay the same. Families that spend slightly less of a percentage of their savings when compared to the deflation rate percentage and are able to successfully teach their children and grandchildren to do the same will create a level of abundance hard to imagine for the the grandparents who started spending modestly. The annual spending of these families will honestly be less then the number of sats I can get on a post, it seems ridiculous but mathematically is true.
Generational wealth is now built off modesty, discipline, and a short time preference rather then fiat exploitation and debt.

Your debt settles in fiat backed by bonds that’s demand is supported by gov printed fiat made possible by more debt. The concept that people wanting to continue consumption forever is a keynesian lie…
Under sound money with fair incentives becoming wealthy means you contributed to bringing down the marginal cost of production, or contributed to the adoption of the better economic system by adopting the sound money earlier and for cheaper.
The way in which Bitcoin will make the world a better place because of these two factors is very interesting. Imagine someone with many bitcoins or even just 1 bitcoin 100 years from now. Their wealth far exceeds their consumption and the fact that they don’t spend most of their sats just makes the sats of poorer people worth more. Under an inflationary money wealthy people are incentivized to spend more or invest in assets like homes making home ownership unrealistic for most people.
Charity could start to look completely different. Since wealthy people don’t spend more with sound money a dead persons UTXO does not increase their consumption, but gets primarily distributed to the consumption of poorer UTXO’s. By saving your sats and dying with them you can donate in a distributed way to the network with little of that being consumed by already wealthy bitcoiners.

Applications that solve the problem of social media using your attention as a product to be bought and sold will be big. People will be able to make posts similar to ads where they can maximize reach to the point at which cost is at equilibrium with what they get zapped in return. Companies that are generally well received for the business practices win.
People creating content can also choose to not maximize reach at no cost but maximize profits. This will be huge for content creators and journalists. Content will also generally shift to what creates the most value since the most important KPI will no longer be click rate or watch time but value provided.
Spam protection will also be big. If an actor human or not wants to reach many people they will either have to value that enough to expend money or the content will have to be valuable enough for users that they can get tremendous reach at no loss of money.

Satoshi probably knew that our current system would not disperse the benefits of the marginal cost of production of just about everything collapsing to zero, so he built the world a money that would distribute those gains and let us save as things become cheaper.
He probably also knew that the thing that would have the hardest time seeing a decrease in marginal cost of production would be energy.
1. Growth in energy use stagnant since 1971.
2. Energy markets are built on non renewable forms of energy that get more scarce as we use them.
3. The entire global financial system is built on the petro-dollar and is not going to let cheap electricity win without a fight.
By making bitcoin mining energy intensive and block subsidies get increasingly smaller Satoshi made it so that countries would fight to make energy become cheaper and cheaper rather than fight wars.

If half of its citizens opted out one year and the government of that country decided they wanted to steal an equal amount of theft as in past years the inflation rate required to do so would be infinity…

Some of the smartest people in the world don’t see it but there is no path where marginal cost of production approaches zero and we maintain consistent inflation of the main money used by society without the break down of society. Homeownership as the focus of the American dream is propaganda to suppress sound money that began the same decade as executive order 6102. I’m personally waiting for #Bitcoin to not only steal value from real estate as the primary savings technology but for governments to no longer feel the need to prop up its value. I can postpone home ownership longer then this “American dream” can last. And will enjoy my home(s) for what seems like a shockingly cheap amount of sats today.

Nature does not like monopolies. The systems we built, the very issue is that they go against natural law and create monopolies. We become disconnected and suffer the cycles of civilizational rise and collapse. #Bitcoin is our chance to get back to natural law. A scarce money that is not just tied to the laws of physics but will stop monopolization of industry, lead to decentralization our use of energy, and destroy the monopoly on violence that governments have exploited. If society could ever function in anarchy, it seems reasonable that a scarce system of receipts on the rules of anarchy which is physics would be needed. At the very least the minimum amount of forms of rehypothication of money and rules(government) would be allowed to exist, but no more than needed. Rehypothication if expanded from just monetary policy exists in all group hallucinations like government or digital communication where bots can commit rehypothication with information for essential no cost. We are bound to make more than necessary. Bitcoin is the check that makes it the minimum amount necessary for optimal society, individuals can opt out of monetary versions, government versions, and digital versions of rehypothecation using bitcoin. It will changed the relationship to government and social media feeds to a consensual one where we will all have many options in what kind of government or client we want to use/live in. Both will be forced to provide the best experience possible.

Nature exists in a state of anarchy and the only “rules” are those of physics…
Ownership of property is ultimately a game of power projection and all life is in perpetual power projection. Humans are great abstraction machines and are able to avoid this until the cornot equilibrium shifts to be too profitable to attack. Thus the final settlement layer of society is war or power projection. Bitcoin can become that final settlement platform for whatever amount of rules and value are put onto the network if it is 10% of global value it stands to reason that around 10% of power projection will be bitcoin mining. Potentially much more since any amount of power projection should give a reward via mining pools. In war countries must expand a minimum amount of force to achieve their objective and must face repercussions from countries not in favor of their actions. Because of this bitcoin mining will be a more efficient return on investment for power projection. The Carnot equilibrium for attack would completely change as Bitcoin became a dominant asset globally.
If Bitcoin becomes a parrellel payment system and store of value then the world being more at war would increase its value(I suspect market cap must get to at least golds for that to happen). This means that if things did get bad enough that countries wanted to do final settlement in war which appears to be happening more and more, then the value of bitcoin rising would decrease that likely hood.
At this point the system that is the most prosperous essentially wins. Central Banks, politicians, and governments don’t have much say in the matter, this is a fair fight of the petro-dollar system vs a digital store of value system backed by location independent energy. Either a small amount of inflation is necessary for society and bitcoin is a backup system that also allows for development of small nations and levels the playing Feild and keeps the country in charge of printing somewhat in check, or an Austrian economic model is preferred by individuals, bitcoin standard is the winner and disrupts the keysnian model completely.

Once we could think more 4 dimensionally(probably from psilocybin induced synthsia) thinking Into the future and the past allowed the concept of death to become an egregore. So did the structure of power hierarchy’s. We think into the future of that social structure. Money or just scarcity of an item can portray the meaning of the structureand peoples place in it. It took proof of work to get the scarce resource on a kings head. Crowns are in all sorts of cultures essentially proof of the power the person has by showing the work they can store that took to get the rare item.
An abstract value system that is collectively believed and would not work without the concept of death and that structure gives predictability in exchange for a tax of energy of the people within the system. Stabler systems tend to prevail and more people believe that egregore that prevailed. Systems or governments want to increase their capture of energy via tax. They will invade and control what they can, especially places with high frequency of trade like shipping ports or places with lots of resources.
The sang “death and taxes” they are the the most persistent egregores of the human story cross culturally and across time periods. I’ve heard Bitcoiners now say “death taxes and bitcoin”.
There is still transaction fees to reward miners it is taxes in a frictionless domain so it takes less energy per trade but it is still the egregore of death and taxes. Only these egregores are immortal in my opinion.
As for the implications of this…
One solution being proposed with Ai is for us to put it into our brains so we “control” it but what if instead it was built onto the most energy consuming and persistent egregore humans have… Bitcoin essentially being symbiotic with the hive mind of humanity via markets would want us to prosper and us wanting the network to do so creating a giant super Intelligent ant colony so to speak that benefits from the super organism that is the bitcoin network.
I think that if we ever have a super intelligent AI as a part of how we work as humans it exists on top of an egregore that needs us to believe in it to stay alive. if it does not help us prosper we stop believing in it, it stays alive by us believing in it. If people don’t believe in it they stop mining stop using nodes transacting int it and saving in it etc. By the economy running on bitcoin we control it as an egregore, an idea bigger than us but we hold the power and so any Ai running on the network would simultaneously be open source, have more access to energy then any other computer network, have all the economic data at its disposal in real time, and be fully incentivized to benefit humanity.

As more capital increasingly becomes knowledge and as more of the capital is recorded on the #timechain economies of the world will see capital depreciation approach zero.
What happens after 1000 years of near zero capital depreciation, perfect saving’s technology that can’t be fucked with, and an exponential increase in our ability to harness energy??? I think it means a trillion+ humans all living in abundance with the freedom to pursue a meaningful life.
Satoshi gave us the blueprint and initial steps to build this future. I’m just grateful to be alive at a time to help build that.

Been thinking of how #bitcoin and #nostr have the potential to lead to technologies that will allow for a universal basic income independent of the state. This seems needed for a post labor economic system.
We can build ways to have advertising revenue go to users and not tech companies. The amount that goes to the company/clients will be a race to zero due to the ease that users can switch to a new client. This will also be able to solve issues with spam.
My question lately though is how can we bias the #ubi to human users over accounts that are bots. How can we make sure that their is not an incentive to make 1000s of accounts that can collect a share of the ubi?
Potential solutions and there downsides…
1. Every human has their own unique finger print or face, could this or other biometric data be used. What are the trade offs here In privacy. There must be potential downsides. Who gets all this data. What about after the person is no longer living, how do we verify that with reduced dependency on centralization? Will it be possible to fake a human finger print or other biometric data?
2. Will systems that distribute ubi be in charge of verifying what accounts are an individual person and deserving of the distribution?
Basically I’m attempting to crowdsource some leads on new areas of information. I’m working on solutions in this area and want to know how we can make the difference in sovereignty of the great grandchild of someone who stacked sats be as close to possible to someone who is born with no sats in their family lineage.

The halvings will change the time preference of companies.
When on a bitcoin standard in the future or today if your a Bitcoin company you’ll measure your growth in bitcoin not fiat.
Because Bitcoin has cycles from halvings, measuring quarterly growth makes no sense. Rather growth of the company should be measured in bitcoin. Most companies will get smaller each year as we transition to post labor economics. The companies that grow in bitcoin terms will be the ones able to contribute to making their sectors highly deflationary.
As companies time preference moves towards 4 year goals instead of quarterly goals humanity will benefit greatly🧡

Money is like a language to communicate value/work over space and time.
Usually the market finds the best money for this but the government has subjected by us by decree to a money that is poor at communicating value over space and time. Imagine your language just changed meaning every day due to federal reserve policy. Communication and anything built on top would become ineffective.
Because of the petro dollar which it’s proof of work is backed by oil and maintained from war is able to be printed at will it is essentially eroding the ability to communicate you work that you give to the economy. If you want to store your labor for the future you are forced to bet in the financial system. It can take a lot of directions. I think I have both agree that Ai will be apart of of the digital space to much greater degree in the future but we can build things in a way that it does not become a negative. For starters we can create obstacles for communication or to be in our feed by people or Ai accounts having to overcome a set amount of value.
Think a wall of energy and bitcoin is the energy to overcome it. We can build energy wall APIs to solve these problems. How that will look will vary on preference, there are lots of ways to do it. This is what cause me to look more closely at #nostr

For energy prices over the next ten years I think the prices divert depending on location. Some areas will experience energy deflation as they lean into Bitcoin mining while others will see higher prices as the petro dollar system weakens and wars and trade issues make consistent cheap oil less common.
Some time after bitcoin surpasses the market cap of gold and begins to transition to a settlement layer for nations that have energy grids built around mining you’ll then start to see global energy prices falling and energy use globally trend upwards at a historically very high rate. The world will return to kilowatts per capita rising again. This metric has flattened in G7 countries and slowed to nearly nothing for the rest of the world since leaving the gold standard.
While bitcoin will be a big part of the global wealth in this scenario global wealth itself will be much larger. Just an energy use increase globally of a little over 10% per year would get us to a 50% increase every halving and a type 1 civilization on the kardeshev scale in a 92 year period. 1 #bitcoin in a type 1 civilization will have a lot of purchasing power.

Benifits of the network don’t just dwarf the cost of more carbon being released. It brings down the cost of clean energy and much of the energy that is carbon based(less then half the total energy use of the network) is utilizing waste energy that was already being spent. An example to look at is flaring being used for bitcoin mining.
Even if we start using less carbon based fuels we need to have more energy for poorer nations and have cheap enough energy for both carbon capture and desalination of salt water in the poorest areas in the world. This seemed like an impossible task until bitcoin mining. The faster bitcoin gets to the millions per bitcoin the faster these problems can be solved.
Going down the rabbit hole you may experience these different thoughts along the way
1. I wish bitcoin used less energy
2. The energy it uses is worth it because it’s necessary for bitcoin to be able to solve the problems it solves. Plus it is pretty clean energy for the most part that it uses
3. I hope bitcoin uses more energy, half the world’s energy going to bitcoin mining will make the best future for the next generations. Climate change alarmists are understandably concerned but also have no solution to efficiently pull carbon out of the air or handle the problems of the carbon just staying flat for 1000 years.
Number 3 can make you sound like a wacko to people who have not put in the proof of work though 🫠

If people just understood that the properties of bitcoin and it’s stock to flow will surpass gold and real estate soon they would have their savings in bitcoin not be 0% of their portfolio. I don’t think most people will ever know or care. It will be applications that get bitcoin to the millions. The applications will be different because the properties of the native currency. That and fleeing the old system will drive the adoption.

Here is a pricing model for assets based on their respective stock to flow. You’ll notice it tracks pretty spot on with a straight line on a power law basis. Real estate however has a premium of value, perhaps as the most scarce thing it captures more value or because it is essentially subsidized by the banking industry. Even if those aren’t true real estate has major draw backs as a store of value.

- subject to ongoing expenses and taxes to maintain
Despite this it still has a premium as the most scarce. Due to bitcoins preprogrammed halvings though it will surpass both gold and real estate. Potentially reducing the function of both in a portfolio meaning…

- central banks will have to print even more to prevent a collapsing housing market.

A proof of work scarce digital store of value that no one controls would be a winner take all game. There will not be other proof of works with significant portions of global use. It is inevitable that it would become a way to escape being unbanked, then mild inflation protection, then used in cross boarder settlement, then used for sovereign individuals to subject other actors to natural law in a digital space. Right now the transition from unbanked to being used for escape from just mild inflation is just starting.

Digital: Technologies using bitcoin base layer and lightning will allow people to subject others to physical constraints over a digital space. This will be used via divisible units of bitcoin. Lightning has not been properly thought of as a way to subject the implications of natural law to people over the internet but it will give people the ability to choose that whenever they want/need to.
