#TIBtv really needs some stickers with the right info (for fans and artists).
I was at a bar in #Tucson last night with live music. The musician's web site said they did motion graphics work so I asked after the show if they also made music vidoes for their music and of course they do. So I invited them to submit. They were excited to be seen.
I need a sticker to hand over and to stick up in various places, venues, book shops, bars.

Odd because the way recurring work is, when one recurring event is done, gancio creates the next event in the series on the cal. Maybe missing putting that in the feed? Maybe @npub1nuu…gjr3 can configure it to do so?

I do not think your YouTube channel is going to make you any money. Well maybe you, but not you, or you, or you, and definitely not *you*.
But I do think YouTube will use your audio and video to train AI. And whatever views you get will come with ads that make money for Google's war chest which they will ultimately weaponize against *you*.

Thanks. Yeah, I was expecting something weird when time changed in the UK. Time change happens in the US and UK on different days. Ultimately, it is 1800 UTC But the calendar makes you enter it in local time and I'm not sure what effect that has on recurring entries. I might need to delete it and recreate it now that time has changed using the proper local time, whatever that is.

tried to get the jellyfin devs to pick up peer tube support. No interest. You can already watch owncast in Jellyfin. But it takes some manual configuration. It would be nice if there was an app that brought it all together.
But also roku seems to be mostly a U.S. phenomenon and is closed source. What I really want is a foss box like Roku but open and supports all of these platforms. Can't find that.

There was a peertube app called peervue. It was abandoned because the stream from peertube was incompatible with what Roku expected and audio didn't work right. I think peertube version 7 fixed that. but nobody picked up development of the app again. Also, it would require all of peertube servers to upgrade.

Do you mean like emoji wall and onscreen chat?
This https://beta.smol.stream/ can be used by the streamer to get emoji reactions and chat onscreen. But it needs the streamer to configure it in OBS. It is simple.
On Tibtv it cant work tho because not using OBS, instead liquidsoap. Would need video feed to overlay.
But also, there was a twitch roku app called twoku which shows chat onscreen beside an inset video. So that is also possible apparently.

Over the last week, starting on launch day, @npub15pc…hvce has been helping us to make #TIBtv better for you and for artists. A huge debt of thanks to them for all of the help. Here's what we've improved in a week:
- custom css and js to enable now playing info (now 100% fancier) below the video on the site
- custom css and js to enable scrobbing with PanoScrobbler
- a WebScrobbler connector (will take time in their release process)
- a chat bot that posts now playing in chat when new tracks play

btw, there was a #roku app for #peertube called #peervue
it was unfinished, I think, and abandoned
i think largely because something in the way peertube hls streams worked did not work with roku -- you'd get no audio
i believe that the latest releases of peertube have made it possible
hopefully someone will pick up development

But -- there is therapy in the doing.
I painted the WORST pottery yesterday to get ready for the kiln. And even tho my pot will look like garbage unless some magic happens in the kiln... I found the whole process relaxing.

Does anyone familiar with #rtmp #owncast #ffmpeg or #peertube know whether the rtmp protocol encrypts the path? Does it do a Diffie-Hellman handshake at connection to establish a key or something?
Asking because all of the #OBS and #LiquidSoap connections I've seen have a connection URL like the following:
rtmp://HOST:PORT/ENDPOINT/STREAM_KEY
e.g.
rtmp://peertube.video:1935/live/3d2c803b-1677-4918-bd1d-8f5f5a156225
Can anyone just sniff that STREAM_KEY and blast porn to your server?

Did you know you can add tags to your MP4 music videos just like MP3s using MP3Tag (or probably Picard or other apps)?
At min you should add Title, Artist, Album, Cover .... and don't forget WWW tag for a link to your artist page of choice!
If you don't see all of the tags in the edit panel you can add them by going to:
- File | Options
- Tag Panel
- Click the Add (+) button
- Select the tag(s) you want to be available when editing

#LiquidSoap users here? Can you point to a complete example video .liq script?
Trying to:
✔️ run a playlist of videos
✔️ intermix occasional statio id videos
✔️ have a fallback video
✔️ target rmtp (owncast)
❌ allow a superseding live stream to interrupt (and then return to playlist when done)
❌ most importantly - put metadata onscreen from the source video (artist, title, track or similar)
Struggling to get text onscreen and worried that there is an unimplemented ffmpeg feature at root

if you #write, there are plenty of free stock image options which *encourage* you to mix and mash up your own. it is not hard. or pay someone
be like Cory @npub1fdr…lvhs and collage up your own stinger images from stock photos
I'll even link some resources in the reply to this for you ... others pls join in and post your fav CC or public domain image sources.

I'm currently attending the final (for foreseeable future) graduation event for #Indy #PublicAllies due to the funding cuts by DOGE to #Americorp
It is sad and stupid and wrong that this is the last class. I hope they still go on to do great things in the community in spite of the circumstances. And I hope some benefactor clues into the benefit of this program and funds it privately. Ffs

#Firefox allows you to add new search engine keywords by right clicking on a search field at a site and picking "add a keyword for this search"
#Peertube has a search engine that searches across instances called #SepiaSearch at https://sepiaSearch.org
But Firefox creates a broken search when you do this. Fix it by changing the search URL to add "search" between the / and the ? like so:
https://sepiasearch.org/search?search=%s
Now you can search for videos by typing in the search bar like:

BTW if you are wanting to listen on an Android or iOS app... Or about 100 other ways and means... #TheIndieBeat channels are all loaded into the radio-browser database so you can listen in any of these apps:

I think I could modify the @npub1e70…9p3q to include the artist fedi @ handle in now playing posts and make this an opt-in feature.
Would that be of interest to anyone?
That way you could get notified each time your tracks play... and if anyone replies to a post you'll see it... And of course they could locate and contact you directly here.
If it became too much, you could mute the account or opt-out.

👆 asking because Peertube itself doesn't feel very social, neither the web site nor app, and not great for discovery. It seems more like a platform for hosting videos and social aspects and discovery via other platforms might be better. But Mastodon is not great wrt federation of Peertube videos so... Is any other platform better?
