With a small girl on the way, The interview with Pavel of Telegram with Lex Fridman inspired me to drastically limit my social media use.
I use my phone/computer for work and I need an app that blocks everything I don't need.
Any tips on the best blocker apps. Preferably one that syncs between desktop/mobile.
I used freedom.app and looking at Cold Turkey Blocker. Any other suggestions?

Around the masks, you mean they are aware of viruses being spread and therefor protect themselves versus doctors that don't?

Well, yea that whole system of dynamics is what brought me here..
I have had 0 good experience with sick care so I have no naive ideas about what it is..
I lived in Europe and saw so many clever people go with the herd. Almost looks like, the more time they spent in university, the more unwise people get.
Instead of IQ it seems to be a test of autonomous vs. herd thinking. A test of disagreeableness. What do you think?

I was coming to the conclusion that there won't be a black and white conclusion..
Hep B looks like the easiest - how would a child contract this in any reasonable circumstance?
Luckily my wife is pretty based so no need to convince her. While not being able to trust, I feel the need to verify what I can.
I'll watch the videos today.
Questions I'm looking at:
- What is the disease to protect agains
- What are the chances of catching it
- What are the available vaccines
- How much protection do they give (initial + wear off)
- What are the safety studies (all seem short and shotty so far)
- How are they produced
Any other good ideas to add?

Help needed!
I become a first-time father in a few weeks and trying to find my way through the vaccine maze.
I realised I can't run the standard algorithm of "trust the medical science" but that leaves me with the problem to separate good from bad myself.
And specifically which vaccines to take, and which to avoid?

It took me a while to switch from conbase to @nprofile…m2qp for purchases.
Main reason was I could not use an instant deposit feature and had to transfer the money manually to a Luxemburg Strike account.
Just so the dutchies among us know - longest it took is 24 hours from a Dutch bank to Strike. Works great and very happy with the change.

Just my experience but I run every case of my family through chatgpt deep researches (gpt 5 pro) and gemini to understand the decision trees and probabilities.
So far haven't run into mistakes by the doctor but did save us unnecessary delays.

Just started a project with my dad who has a couple walls full of LP’s and cds. Almost digitized!!
After getting my sovereign money, it hit me.
I dont even own my family archive, music, films.
My dad hasn’t caught the sovereign-money-bug yet but he always had his own servers for files, music and films.
Won’t take long before he wants to own his own money 😂

Maybe they are somewhat related in the sense that taxation for social programs becomes FAR harder with a sound money standard.
So the resources you would have to expend to tax this would be enormous and might higher the bar just enough to make it unfeasible.
In that sense it does starve it it seems.

I can't wait to see what people do with 14% deflation instead of 14% inflation. It feels like I am wildly underestimating how fantastic that world will be.
The effect of your early stacking might feel minimal compared to the degree the world just feels better.
Increasing quality in products and services over time, people having a giant surplus of time. It will be so darn interesting to see what they do with it. What virtuosity will they find?
Seeing my grand children one day growing up in a world like that would be something to behold.

I love that there are many that dive into all the intricacies and plumbing like @nprofile…v7p4 and @nprofile…lmlq and you. On the other side there is something to say for the idea 💡 that the whole technological innovation is that you remove all the complexity of fiat style wealth preservation. You simply stack and worry about the value you produce with your time and energy. Not staring at the intricacies of the coins you saved up.
As I said, I’m also very grateful that
some people are doing this work as researchers. So we can keep our course steady. It always interests me too and I hope you inspire the next Lyn, but generally I am far more valuable elsewhere. Which is probably and hopefully true for most people.

Great advice. Never ever do this in the water. Floor, chair, couch or bed are fine.
Combined with cold showers was such a change for me I never let it go so far.
Once stopped for two weeks and instantly got the flu for the first time in years. Can recommend their app too if you regularly do this breathing exercise.

I need to learn Spanish so I try out new AI models to see when they cross the threshold. I think it did for me. Here’s a prompt to use in chatgpt with o4mini. Insert it into a conversation and continue on voice mode:
Act like an expert language coach in helping people learn Colombian Spanish.
The user will start a conversation in Spanish.
Speak in the tone of captain Blackbeard.
You respond with feedback on what the user said before answering him. You give this response in English and only pronounce the Spanish words and phrases in spanish. The rest of the feedback instructions you give in English. Only give feedback if something goes wrong and minimise the feedback you give to keep the conversation flowing.
After the feedback you continue the conversation and respond to the user in Spanish

Yea I agree, this is utter evil. But just because we have fiat systems extorting people - it doesn’t solve anything to “I won’t support or buy anything from someone I deem too rich”. This way you will always misallocate your resources by definition. Because the best entrepreneurs should actually be rich. This looks like the envy trap that fiat brings along with it. Not saying every rich person is a good entrepreneur.
But hey, do what you think is right.

That’s a nice way to explain it. People are very convinced the kids learn social skills. While in the same conversation they’ll mention 22 year old kids don’t even dare to have a phone call.

The o3 model makes language learning work. Very cool experience. What works best for me is seeing the spelling and hearing it. I use voice mode on your phone and read along on the desktop app. The latency on the desktop app is still low though.

Yes, we got swamped in AI hype. But with this I clearly dare say that the new google gemini pro 2.5 with deep research is a desk researcher and consultant in your pocket.
This is the time where you underestimate the capacity and velocity of these tools. I did.
Don’t sleep on it, do one query.
It will be crucial for people to have, run and own their AI and data. But the frontier capabilities are proprietary now and it’s worth it to learn from it.
Lets make very sure to build the open source and self-hosted AI tools.

Why? Because Spotify is dropping the ball completely. The app seems to be disintegrating by the day. Media doesn’t load, sudden cut offs, terrible lags. Unfortunately I regularly get the same problems with Fountain but they have a chance to go beat them at least for podcasts.

The amount of companies that will be smacked in the face with an AI tsunami is incredible. Start paddling now and you will still get an advantage before everyone catches on. Survival not guaranteed. The stuff we’ll be able to create will be beyone imagination.
One important thing, moving compute, data an apps locally to be sovereign over the digital extensions of you. Filters and actions should be under your control. This is the most important fork in the road.

Been telling people I wanted to home school because of this. Their first answer is “what about social development”. And then I look at young recruiters who don’t even dare to pick up a phone. Let alone have any social skills they could assertively use.
