I'm very much not the biggest fan of Firefox shoving AI chatbot access into the browser, but the best thing about Firefox is you can at least disable what you don't like. :meowshrug: Or, if you don't like Firefox adding crap that you have to opt-out of, you can use a downstream Firefox fork like Waterfox, LibreWolf, etc. I'm still going to recommend a Firefox-based browser over a Chromium-based browser any day because I think Google having de facto control over web standards is way more dangerous than any stupid crap Mozilla can shove in there.

The best way to defeat fascism is calling it out as stupid and parodying it. It's why Mel Brookes is so effective with Springtime for Hitler. Because, really, the beliefs of fascism are weird and the pageantry around it is *bizarre*. It really doesn't hold up if you can change the framing of it. I really do think it goes a long way in delegitamizing their movement in a way that's impossible to flip back onto Democrats, because progressive policy is actually *popular*.

Most of the "weird" comments I've been seeing are directed at policy. Tim Walz is the person who started the weird trend, and he's been completely focusing on how weird Republican policies are. I'm really uncomfortable with the Elon babyfur thing, but from actual official campaign sources they've been better about not using ad hominem attacks.

It's kinda hard to troubleshoot that remotely, but it'd depend on where during the boot process it's doing that. Chances are there's not a great way to fix it since LiveUSBs aren't writeable, so even if you get it fixed this time it'll mess up the next time you boot it.

Usually if someone is coming from Windows, I recommend they use KDE for a reason though. I like the GNOME activity overview paradigm, but I know it's not a good fit for everyone.

I watched The Sweatbox recently and I've had [Snuff Out the Light](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbIoa4zA9Vg) stuck in my head ever since. It's easily my favorite Disney villain song, which is extra funny because it never got released as a villain song.
For anyone who doesn't know, The Emperor's New Groove was going to be a movie called Kingdom of the Son that was modeled off of the Prince and the Pauper, but it was way too complicated and confusing (and frankly a little dumb), so they scrapped it. Some of the music kinda slapped though. :abongocatheart:
Also, massive shoutout to the late Eartha Kitt who does not get enough love. Eartha Kitt imperiled her entire career by standing up to Lydon B. Johnson and trashing the Vietnam War so hard that the CIA started a smear campaign against her. She was an incredible badass. :blobfoxheartcute: She was also avidly pro-LGBTQ+ and referred to it as a civil rights issue. I miss that lady.

People say it's antithetical to the Unix philosophy of writing small programs that are meant for and excel at one small thing, and that systemd does too much. The thing that ignores is that systemd isn't one program, it's a big suite of applications. The other problem is that it's mostly pioneered by RedHat and people (understandably) don't like RedHat, but as much as I don't really like RedHat that much, they're a necessary evil and the software they write for Linux is actually pretty decent. Then there's just a smattering of people who don't like systemd for its unit file syntax or they don't like the way it logs since you have to use their journal system. There's a lot of reasons, some valid, most not. :meowshrug:
