We disagree about what it (transgenderism) is and age appropriate.
Also, that ideology is pushing for medical treatment on minors, which I believe to be absolutely morally corrupt. Adults can do whatever they like (but I don't have to go along with that either)

Just to poke you, how about for example mein kampf?
To be clear, for adults I think there should be 0 banned books.
For kids, we also agree on the principle that there shoudl be age classifications, but we don't agree what should be classified for what age. The people Glyn is critizing put an age classification on books they think can harm kids and I agree with them. Even though we in Belgium did not have rules on those materials, I kept them away from mine and chose the least bad schools (Christian ones) to protect them

Children are confused about many things, that's why we don't let them make permanent decisions. Secondly, the bombardment of hormones in our water, in forever plastics and crappy food have sharply changed our hormones. Teenage boys today have the testosterone level that our grandfathers had at 70. Don't tell met that doesn't affect them.
Again. I suspect you are fine with banning books, and specifically banning books to children. Just not these books.
I have a lot of empathy for transgenders, who I think are mostly affected by the combination of social manipulation and messed up hormones into taking treatments that forever sterilizes them. Though as a libertarian I will not put anything in their way of harming themselves, I think they actually need help accepting who they really are instead of undergoing mutulation.

Children should be protected from the social constructionists that let them make undergo life altering medical treatments for a possibly temporary confusion about their sex. Something that is by no means surprising given the amount of synthetic hormones we are exposed to combined with gender-confusing naratives in media.

Mail from and RCPT to cannot be encrypted. So all involved mailservers have a record who sends to who, when and size. In some places, those logs have to be kept years.

They can be, but they keep and leak metadata. In some places, e-mail logs have to be stored for 2 years. So using your government e-mail account to use deltachat still reveals who you are talking too.
Neither does that argument negate that SimpleX now defaults to https traffic, which you think would be more likely to be wholesale banned then mail?

It's feeble because Simplex now defaults to port 443, which is also difficult to block as a whole. What ends up happening is that known service providers will get blocked and deltachat has 0 advantage again.

Going further on this, there doesn't seem to be a luks option in the installer any more, there is in webfai. Installing with that and the built in drive encryption got me a working installation. I will see about the logs, I copied most of the data of before reinsalling

I should note that the upgraded install had no encryption, it was using the built in encyrption of the drive (through the bios)

It seems more complex then that. I wiped the second system, an Intel NUC and reinstalled with WebFAI and crypt, it doesn't boot.
Installing with ISO to stick and no crypt, it boots

@npub1sfg…fqh4 2 upgrades to OS 4, 2 failures. One recovered with chroot, the other went black during the process and even though the chroot steps seemed to work, it no longer boots. Wiping and reinstalling 😒

I managed to complete the upgrade with a lot off issues, I file a report but if I didn't know Linux well it wouldn't have worked and in second order, my system would have been broken. It's nowhere near ready for release.

I think the battery drain is a big blocker for larger adoption, I have a large set of devices in my home and only the two Iphones are usable. With Simplex the pixels 4 and 7 don't last a workday, without they do

The comment about groups with max 50 users is factually false, that applies to v1 groups possibly. I am currently in groups with about 1000 users, though it will not go up to 50-100k like telegram does.
Secondly, neo nazis use electricity too, so do we demonize that too? You cannot prevent evil people from using tools good people need to safely live their lives.

@jan@kcore.org why not, running a graphics layer that the closed source driver producer just now starts to offer limited support for is a recipe for disaster. That is the fault of said manufacturer who knew Wayland was going to replace X for many years in advance. We can't hold back new technology because their support is lagging.
