What is the legit way to use nostr? I ask because primal app has been broken big time even through the last 3 or 4 updates. Notifications and messages are almost always in a stuck loading forever state. Even the timeline gets stuck loading all the time. And the wallet is so broken. When I click enable primal wallet nothing happens. I also tried changing it to work with my Albyhub on my node and primal app still just does nothingwhwn going through the steps to do that!
I know I'm being a bit negative, but it's been months of this, and frankly Im tired of trying to like it. I like the idea. I like the raw timeline and no ads.
But there must be a better way. This can't be happening to everyone, is it? I've set up a node(with help), I make my own rss feeds, am I just an idiot when it comes to nostr?! (Probably🤪) Send me the steps and I shall attempt to take them. Something about relays? I dono what that means. Not trying to hate on primal app, but this has just been my experience for months now
I tried this nostr thing cuz we love the team over @nprofile…7u5r app, and while I see potential, I just want to know if/what I'm doing wrong, or what the deal is. Thanks!

We've been releasing our music in this decentralized way for the last 2 years with RSS thro our website https://www.doerfelverse.com/ and our music is connected to our Bitcoin node. A long with being able to listen to our music on our website via the big orange "music" button, we are on every podcasting 2.0 app and it is as decentralized as it gets.
Wavlake is not exactly decentralized, they just make and host RSS feeds and wallets on their site for music and then they also share their content to the podcasting 2.0 apps as well via podcastindex.org.
www.musicsideproject.com is a good open source tool that helps you build your own rss feed for music, then you use your own website to host it all, the you can add your stuff to the podcastindex.org manually very easily and there you have it, self hosted decentralized music for people to listen to and if they like it send Bitcoin to or value in any way you ask.
If you've not tried the fountain.fm app that's a good place to start as far as a podcasting2.0 app. www.lnbeats.com shows only the music that's all on the index. There's a bunch of great ones though! Podverse.fm podcastguru.io
There is a brand new music music app that is in beta that is very close to being released that uses the index as the database, the UI works like Spotify, but for all this decentralized music that is out there self hosted like us or via wavlake, we will blast the URL for it as soon as our friend @nprofile…07yd releases it to the public!

Let's get some recordings in an rss feed! Attach a wallet to the songs, and people can zap/boost track and add it to their playlist of ther v4v tracks.
You can do this easily yourself with putting your files your own website and using a feed builder like www.musicsideproject.com then adding the URL for feed to www podcastindex.org

There's also people(myself and others) that are happy to build you a feed and host your stuff for you. Just send them the files and your fountain.fm wallet and we can get it up for you!

Dono if you've checked out www.LNbeats.com "LN" is for Lightning. But yeah its a universal app, works in any browser and you can find any v4vmusic self hosted or wavlake artist on it. it is made by @nprofile…qgdn it's the only app I know of that focuses on music only. I don't know of any nostr music apps. I guess Fountain is it for me

@nprofile…jy0c is good. But you know what else is cool. Artists can be their own wavlake, except it's even better. They can self host. This way we artists control 100% the wallets and splits attached to our music. And all the splits and percentages that we set up are transparent in the open in the xml file. So there's no way for any funny business. Would be cool if wavlake took this approach. But they do make it easy. So easy infact, every 12 year old that plays with Suno is flooding WL with AI garbage music. Podcastindex.org is really responsible for wavlakes success. Developing wallet splitting technology.

you can host music yourself to get your music in all the 2.0 apps that are Bitcoin enabled If you have/get a website to store the files. we use dreamhost for our website for the mp3s and artwork etc then use https://musicsideproject.com/ to create the feed for your songs/albums.

From what I understand wavlake is actually more of a centralized system. They are using podcastindex.org and Adam Curry helped get wavlake on the map because wavlake is using RSS and he was able to play music from them in a podcast. And it's also thanks to podcasting 2.0 who invented the wallet switching technology. There are artists who self host on our own websites and have our own nodes/wallets for Bitcoin and the closest we get to a centralized system is podcastindex being the directory for all the apps out there. All the apps that people can listen to wavlake artists in. But you can't listen to self hosted artists on wavlake. It's one way. And on wavlake you have to agree to wavlake terms(which aren't bad) but they are still like a middle man in this way. If people boost/zap our self hosted songs, the splits are visible how much to who right in our feed for all to see. Trasnparent. Wavlake just goes to wavlake, then they split it internally, not in the open. That might be fine. Maybe it has to do with how their wallets work. But I'd rather not create another industry to be controlled by people at the top. Terms and conditions can change and if they create a system you end up relying on and then they tell you they are taking more fees, you have to agree cuz everyone's already built around this centralized system. We want to create a community of people who value your music by making top quality music and people will decide for themselves how much it's worth. Just some of my scatterbrained thoughts on the subject 😁 - TJ
