Is your disk space ok? I suppose you can try deleting the cache (ipfs repo gc). Or randomly delete from ~/.ipfs/blocks if you can't run "repo gc".

I use LND. I'd guess most use LND with Umbrel/Start9.

I think I hacked my way through receiving lnpay to my Umbrel without any 3rd party tools. Just a website & an LND node. Can share details if anyone is interested (it isn't pretty).
Have only tested with Alby. If people can throw me a few sats with other lnpay wallets and let me know if there are errors, I'd appreciate it.

This has probably already been said, but if you think a remote node is down check *their* channels with amboss. If all channels are down (red arrows), the node is likely down.
If only your channel is down, then it might be your node.
For example, I'd say boostbot is down.

@nprofile…6746 Yeah, the website isn't the best interface. It started out as a debug tool, to make sure things were working.
Can look into an archive feed, but worry about not having all the extra PC20 features (splits, chapters, album art, etc.).

There have been a few users who setup 5-10 VPS nodes interested in earning a larger amount. They did get 5x-10x of the share, but still not enough to "make money".
The concept was always to run a raspberryPi in your basement to support podcasts (and help with distribution).
I recently discovered P4V has gone away, but still lives on IPFS due to listener support. The media and RSS are still available here.

Ok course I miss the live show where you talk about IPFS Podcasting. : (
IPFS Podcasting was never a business model. People started thinking they could generate income by running a node. With 50+ IPFS nodes sharing a split, each node only gets 1/50th of a 3-5% split. More of a "tip" or "thank you" than "income".
My goal for splits was to make sure the calculation is accurate (according to the spec). Any changes to make the spec easier to understand is always preferred.

@npub17d6…v8qz I struggled with cellular internet for years. I feel your pain.
You basically need to tunnel a connection to someone with a public IP (like a VPN). I haven't tried it, but http://localhost.run/ might help. Or https://ngrok.com/pricing And a lot of people like https://tailscale.com/ for remote access.

Just my personal gateway is down, so I can't help with playback.

I've been overdue making the map on the home page static, so it's not hammering the database. Hopefully it will be a little more responsive in the future.

steps. And a negative prompt (don't know if it helped).

It appears you're doing that with Ainsley's VTS. It's "legal" in the spec, but I don't know if/how the apps handle it.
The spec also says remotePercentage only applies to remoteItem splits.You have remotePercentage="80" for Ainsley but she's not a remoteItem. I assume the app would ignore the attribute since it doesn't apply.

@npub1dft…ta3d @npub1823…zdth It looks like your network is ok. I was able to connect my node(s) to your node. It's a Start9 node IPFS ID ending in "UZEE", correct?
It may be "normal operation". I've been getting confused about peer counts myself lately.
Can you try opening the IPFS UI from your Start9 properties, then click on Peers? My Start9 has been fluctuating between ~200 and ~20.

@npub17d6…v8qz I'd guess the artist would get 1 sat since they have the highest percentage (at that moment), and everyone else would get zero.
Or it could mean one of the "fee" splits get 1 sat off the top, and everyone else gets zero.
It all depends how the app calculates splits.
Love the idea of a split calculator from the latest PC20 episode to suggest how this would work.

ipfspodcasting.net/e looks for the file to be pinned. So if you're publishing a new show, it's not going to exist (a catch-22).
But it should send you to the original host (so still be successful).
I'm guessing the trackers are added after validating the source (@npub1vpk…092y?)

Trying to visualize sats moving over the "interwebs" sounds like the most difficult (IMO).

I also saw the same issue on @npub1vpk…092y's sovereignfeeds.
The API is returning "Error".
Can anyone else confirm?
Has the request content changed (from "username:<username>")?

Though PC20 already has a lot of support without the channel level split.

The clients/nodes are open. https://github.com/Cameron-IPFSPodcasting The website, database, & lightning payment code currently isn't open.
The future gateways would be open. Still have to figure out how to integrate multiple gateways with playback. Random/round-robin, or based on performance/episode availability (or both).

You can try running "Actions / Clean Up" to run garbage collection and free up any unpinned space.
That may reduce the amount of data to backup.

When someone requests a file, it's pulled from all the nodes (all it can find) at once. Making it faster than pulling a complete file from one node.

I think there was increased demand for internet in the woods this weekend. My bitcoin node started falling behind, then LND, and boosts.
Was about 30 minutes behind, but caught up on all the IPFS splits.
I'm sure a few never made it to my LND node.

Correct all the nodes hosting the file get a portion. I don't think you can know *who* served up the file because it's stored in chunks (like bit-torrent). One playback may pull a chunk from all the nodes. Which makes it faster/more responsive with more nodes.
When you get "too many" nodes, the payouts will be smaller (100 nodes = 1/100th share). You could increase your split ; ) or let them self-regulate. They may un-favorite if only getting 1 sat.

If a podcaster adds a value split for IPFS Podcasting, any boostagrams received will now be shared with nodes hosting the podcaster's content.
