This happens to me every few days while weeding. I think the little ones maybe 2-5cm high pack a bigger punch than the tall ones.

If I recall Ottawa also has some more local online reporting locations in terms of pm 2.5 etc so you can see what those numbers are too. I prefer those to the big sites with their arbitrary "scores". This one is for downtown:

I haven't been up to flood hope falls since the fire. What shape is the forest in on the way there? Hopefully some ferns etc have taken hold on the floor again. Last time I was there I could barely see the water and there was no pool at the bottom. I should try to photograph it again this spring.

Council and locals are apparently quite hostile to the idea of new business I take it, so it seems to be slowly going downhill. Rambo based tourism can only take one so far. Silver Lake Park is probably my favourite spot up there.

For #MountainMonday: Clouds swirling around Mount Maxwell on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Earlier in the day I'd taken the opportunity to drive to the top viewpoint on Mount Maxwell, but as you can probably imagine, we could barely see in front of us at the top as it was so cloudy! Naturally it started clearing after I got to the bottom!

I agree with you on the fuel term. I wonder though that unless we reduce something down to a simplified term such as "fire weather" if the general public is going to really understand the danger those conditions pose (and hopefully behave accordingly).

I support this predicted outcome.
The "echo chamber" criticism of BlueSky has been interesting. A lot of people don't want to fight on the internet. They want to read/discuss things they are interested in. For many that isn't politics. The political screamers can't fathom why people don't want to hear what they have to say, so it must be an echo chamber.
If only people weren't so confused by having to pick a server here. 😅

500 is certainly, usually, unmanageable. Lists do make it somewhat possible. I have lists I only occasionally read, yet I'm following those people on every list.
The follow to get followed back thing is chasing those number that don't matter, again. That mistake is why I followed something like 1300 people at one point on Twitter, as follow back was what you were supposed to do. No wonder I got acquainted with lists! 😬

That is likely to be much harder on your system over the long term with a cold boot each day. I probably shut down my PC every couple of months. Sleep mode the rest of the time. @npub1uvq…e0rh

Indeed! I'd photographed with a friend earlier and he asked me later if I'd see the storm. He was unable to photograph it from where he was and frustrated at that. Sharing one of my photos did not really help him. 😅
