@npub1khy…3lhw @npub1gvj…gjzc The housing episode of @npub18w3…x0cx made me think of Kim Stanley Robinson's "New York 2140" ! A big part of the story revolves around this cooperatively owned skyscraper and the people who live there. At one point there's a massive storm and the community hunkers down and takes care of their little vessel together.
Thanks as always for the discussion! Housing *does* need to be a community responsibility, not an individual's investment.

My mood today is "I want to watch more Mr Robot but I don't want to pay Amazon for it."
For a few, frenzied seconds I think about how interesting it is that how anti-capitalist media is produced and sold through capitalist processes, and perhaps I should read about that...
...and then my brain sputters and coughs to a halt, and I get very sleepy.

I want a #startrek game but instead of commanding the bridge or firing a phaser I want to be working in the hydroponics bay or engineering.
#LowerDecks has a great vibe. The crew knows about the mission but they might not necessarily be on the bridge when the command comes in from the admiral. A game could be about the grunt work of being an officer, maintaining the ship, repairing the holodeck, the occaisional away mission or two, and the social dynamic of working with the rest of the crew.

People who have gotten a #tattoo: Is it typical to get your design done the day of the tattoo?
I'm used to working with graphic designers who want days and multiple iterations to perfect a design, and that's for temporary stuff like a logo!

Can I just say, I find the presence of "shards" in #Cyberpunk2077 to be really charming.
This is the future. Everyone has cybernetic implants. Even the cabs are robots! And yet, files in the game are often transfered through a physical medium.
This is probably because the game is #cyberpunk, a genre which was created before the Internet was common in households. (Plus, watching V and Rogue try to pair bluetooth signals would be lame.)
Data made into a material object is old school and fun.

Right now I'm working with a character who we first meet when an important mission goes south. Then, he is simply a threat, and we know he must be a particularly dangerous threat because of who he is working with. His primary function is to amp up the tension as we realize that things have gone out of control.
Later, through various twists of fate, we're working with each other. While planning a mission, there is a beat that doesn't drive the plot forward, but dwells on the characters' pasts.

I think they do a really good job of setting up characters in Cyberpunk 2077. They'll be introduced, briefly, and the introduction fill some other purpose.
You see a legendary fixer in a bar, and seeing her will prompt the characters to think and talk about what it means to be a legend (which is an important theme of the game). The scene stands by itself.
Later, we'll meet and interact with her, and the introductory conversation helps us understand who she is.

My perception of #Cyberpunk2077 was largely determined by the negative press it received at launch. I took a gamble on a steam sale - thought I'd be disappointed.
I'm... kind of astounded by the initial chapter. The characters of this game are really well crafted. I care about what happens to them.
