Last night's #JoyRide was a "Ride to Remember". A playlist of tunes chosen by the riders to remind them of lost loved ones, and some contemplation in the Everton Nature Garden over tea and homemade flapjacks

I see the Liverpool Post (part of local-journalism startup Mill Media) is looking to hire another journalist.

It'd be nice to have someone from the fediverse in the role.

We had one of the Bullitts out as the disco bike for last night's #JoyRide. A glorious summer jaunt round South Liverpool.

good question. It's been going a few years, though I've only just joined (as I've only just bought a house to need such tools)
There's some crossover with @npub1dt7…yzpr - mainly the folk who run the #RepairCafe do one there too to maintain the tools and we advised a bit when they were setting up.
It's great to borrow stuff I'd otherwise only use once or twice. I've got a floor adhesive comb to return tomorrow 😀
They're lovely folk.

Nice scheme. Liverpool Tool Library have one in their collection too.
I found a brick over the underfloor ventilation had fallen in using mine, as there was a big unexplained cold spot behind the skirting board.

Then got to the tool library to find Mike and Mike from @npub1dt7…yzpr, on one of their regular peripatetic repair-cafe visits to help out with maintenance on the tools.

This is the way. Rode over to Liverpool Tool Library to pick up a couple of tools for the new house DIY.
Ran into Granby Street Market en route, as I'd forgotten it was the 1st Saturday of the month. Bumped into @npub177g…27cs while navigating that, who reminded me that Homebaked coop have a stall there, so bought pie for lunch. Also bumped into Kirsty during the pie side-quest.

I led the ride for last night's #JoyRide, a short one so we had plenty of time for my mate Asia to take us forest bathing.
An hour of lightly-guided mindfulness and communing with the trees, water and birds in the Everton Nature Garden.
Rounded off with us drifting back to the fire for a cup of tea and reflection on the evening. Was happy to see the bats out again too, they'd been a highlight of the session we did last year.

Borrowed my first tool from #LiverpoolToolLibrary today.
Most helpful in the ongoing task of pulling up the floors to fit insulation in the new gaff.

I enjoyed reading that when it showed up in my RSS reader earlier.
I was amused by your "fútbol" phrasing.
"soccer" as a toffs term makes sense, given also "rugger". As a lower-class Northerner it's not one we use much. "Footie" is our shortened form; do the Americans shorten their football at all?

it's easy. Just set the width of the bat PCB to ~80cm and then there'll be loads of room 🤣
(might be a bit pricey to fab though)

Nice to see a company spinning up new embedded computers by repurposing old smarphones.
Makes sense they'd be partnering with Fairphone. I've pondered reusing old phones as part of new products off and on over the years, but securing the supply of phones (of a specific model) is something that's put me off digging further into it.

It's spotted another 30 nodes overnight, so up in the 80s now. 16 of those seem to be direct connections - furthest of those are in Treuddyn (near Mold) to the west; Winsford to the south; and Preston to the north.

Pleasantly surprised by how much #meshtastic activity there is around here.
My node has been up for 50 minutes and had contact with 51 other devices, including one from over the border into Wales

Why the "festival of commoning" rather than the "festival of the commons"? @npub1t2f…5pdx explains that there are many forms of the latter, but the verb form covers all and emphasises the action needed

Friday evening was lovely cycling weather, so each time we had a choice between shorter and longer route the #FolkRidingBikes chose the longer.
We did 20 miles in total, winding up at the Azvex brewery taproom, sat outside in the evening sun with tacos and a pint of their 2.5% mango summer lager.
