TARGET DENIES IT - they're pointing fingers at the strip mall management - but it smells like #Target...
ICE using Bronx Target parking lot for staging; it's where the ICE-agent-dressed-as-construction-worker shot seven times yesterday while children were walking home from school.
AOC has asked Target to stop working w ICE and endangering our communities, let's see where this lands.

GOOD NEWS ALERT
NYC murders, shooting victims, & shootings in general are *the lowest rates ever* for the first nine months of this year. Since they started counting, this year's the lowest!
BAD NEWS TOO
Hate crimes in same time period are up (13% year over year). Mostly anti-Jew, anti-Muslim, or anti-gay.

Global warming continues to bring disease. First detected in the USA in 2023 in CA, Dengue Fever is now in FL (and London!), over 390 cases this year.
Passed by mosquito bite, you would show symptoms in 4 days to 2 weeks.
Called "Breakbone Fever", you could see sudden fever, headache/ eye pain, muscle/ joint pain, bleeding, also vomiting & diarrhea.

It doesn't matter how wide our winning margins are, come November. The GOP will cry "voter fraud" & refuse to seat any DEMs, come January.
We must hope that states suing, & the DEMs suing, & #Congress being one-party, will all add up to something (where it's never added up before, the GOP gets away w everything).
#SCOTUS def will let them delay, for months/ years, while local elections are challenged.

From camp it can be a 25 minute drive to a supermarket. Here, see the dirt road before the highway. Then the grocery, still “Rob’s” - but he’s passed.
Before he died he left it to the workers, as I understand, since now the sign in the deli says “employee owned “ where a picture of Rob used to hang.

A poor man’s “Reflecting Pool”, created while #camping.
Supposed to be, from respectable #recipes I’ve seen: big slabs of blue dried fruit (not blue bacon-strips-lookin’ generic rolls), #pineapple (not cheap #lemonade), #rum (not #vodka), & #BlueCuraçao (I’d substitute [green] #Midori if I could).
Still yummy, & enough of them will help cloud my memory of the real reflecting pool, the real white house, the real national anniversary.

The temp dropped just a bit, and parts of the sky got grey clouds. Major underside-of-leaves, so rain possible. I definitely felt a few drops, but not with clouds overhead, just clear sky(!)
Here comes the golf cart shot-brigade! After nine stops, they won’t notice if the heavens open and they get soaked.
Other pic is red/ white/ blue bagels at work on Tuesday.
EDIT: downpour currently but hopefully will pass over soon.

(Blaze, my ragtop ‘Stang, is happier after annual maintenance, new fuse. No more overheating.)
When ppl camping find out I only use her in the summer, being a straphanger all winter, they inevitably ask why I don’t just rent a car.
This leads to the requisite question of where do I store all the camping gear and why take all the time to load up a rental each trip…
…They imagine my tent etc. just appearing as if by magic, I think.

But, *everybody* talks about this as
They should have been free two years prior, and you're saying
They should have been free two months prior.
So who's right? How could they be considered free if the South hadn't conceded the war yet?
Your position sounds more accurate.

The very first #NYC #subway departed in 1904 from #CityHall station northbound, the old IRT. Although still used as a turnaround for the 6 line, the stop closed in 1945.
Only members of the NY #TransitMuseum get access to 90 minute #tours, 3 times a year (they "sell out quickly"!), for an additional $50.
Curved tile ceilings by Raphael Guastavino accent the structure. Featured are elegant #chandeliers and leaded glass ceilings.

"Ark Encounter Owners Sue Over Flood Damage" - 2019 suit
asked Feds to step in (article says they asked for a bailout, not true) when insurance companies denied claims on washed out access road.
510-foot wooden ark opened July 2016 (10 yrs ago), promised 2.2M visitors annually(!)
Answers in Genesis is the company who built the ark; they also own a creationist "museum" near the ark, I believe.

People want to blend in, grey is a way to fade into the distance. And, then, there's Blaze (pictured camping).
I wanted a used 6-cyl automatic Mustang ragtop, any color outside but tan interior. I ended up with red, which was a ticket magnet the first three years (I cruise control just over speed limit now).
She's crossed 100K miles, still purrs like a lion. Named after redhead stripper and B movie actress Blaze Starr (they both drop their tops!).

You can buy them loose, but not set; they're usually small, under a quarter carat, and never faceted at that size. There are indigenous sites I think in Arizona where you can go pick them up yourself for a fee.
I've heard gem sellers call them "anthill garnets" and since garnets are all natural, never treated or enhanced, you have just your ant friend to thank.
Garnets were known for invisibility in battle and for strengthening your blood (vigor) and sex drive.
