Too simple of a way of looking at things.
GNU Cat actually performs better than Busybox Cat because it does actual buffering and mmap trickery so it can handle large files better.
Also Busybox has no handlers for special cases like multibyte strings, unicode and other obscure encodings and whatever. Many types of edge cases are just simply not handled in Busybox for the sake of minimalism.

I have never had an Android phone with Google Play on it in my life. Installing APKs or using F-Droid were always the normal way of installing things on my phone.
"sideloading" is a term that makes it sound like a thing that is not normal, or something only "power users" should be able to do.

But I do think we are shifting goalposts slightly.
Should websites block unencrypted traffic if they user really wants to disable it? If the user is aware of the issues, why shouldn't they be able to retrieve public information without HTTPS, because they are for example using an outdated operating system?
Is the risk high enough that this traffic should be blocked and the website should be completely inaccessible for these users?

2 days ago Transport Tycoon Deluxe (the original) got added to the GOG store.
Using a very misleading move GOG has now updated their OpenTTD page to list the original game as a requirement for playing OpenTTD.
This is not true at all. OpenTTD is a standalone game and does not require any files from the original game to work, it even replaces the original graphics.
Do not buy Transport Tycoon Deluxe from GOG. They charge 10 euro for it and it is simply the original game wrapped inside of DOSBox without any changes. Not worth your money.
Instead you should just simply download OpenTTD from the official download on openttd.org and play that instead.

I personally don't think LLMs or GenAI software in general is always unethical by definition.
Currently almost all available implementations of it are unethical, but I see this as only temporary. There are definitely ways to create these AI models in an ethical way. We just haven't done that yet.
We also haven't fully figured out all the requirements to even make them respect the user's freedom in the first place.

I'm not wrong but I also wasn't this very seriously from the point that onwards when I mentioned TempleOS.
I think other kernels that can become serious projects. Maybe not Plan 9 or something, but definitely the FreeBSD kernel or Illumos kernel have had years of actual corporate software development behind it.

Sorry I'm from an era where "64 bit PC" meant amd64 specifically.
TempleOS is of course the perfect operating system. Sure it can't go on the internet because it doesn't support networking, but did anything good ever came of the internet? Exactly. You don't need the internet when you TempleOS.
God has demanded that we never needed to go beyond 640x480 16 color VGA graphics.
Can you store 3D meshes inside of text formatting? Not even Vim or Emacs can do that. TempleOS is clearly superior

I think these are the biggest issues for normies to adopt IRC:
* There is no message history unless you run a bouncer.
* All clients kinda suck and are not up to modern standards, for example most have a lack of even multimedia support and the ability to show link previews using meta tags.
* In order to share files via IRC you would need to upload them to some sort of file hosting service instead of just sharing them directly. (Yes, I know XDCC exists but that doesn't work if you're behind any sort of NAT).
