I guess the pushback comes from hearing so much oil/car bought "experts" explaining how renewables are a poor substitution and will end in ecological disaster.
Renewables alone won't cut it. An electrical car is still a car.
Re-designing cities around public and light electric transportation, regenerative agriculture, eco minded construction...Having what all of us really need, in full, within planetary boundaries, is possible. Scarcity is manufactured.

The main objection I have with AI is that it makes use of a commons, the collective generation of information and knowledge, and encloses it to extract statistical associations, charge for it.
You can fine-tune tone because theres a shared baseline the model draws from. That data is generated by the users of the internet but appropriated by private interests.
We have to pay to access the value we created collectively, and to decide how it can be used. Unfair.

Every accusation from conservatives is a confession.
The US is really stealing from Mexico.
Not paying even minimum wage is stealing.
Taking social security money from immigrants that will never cash in is theft.
Profiting from the education, health care and work in raising the migrant workers is theft.
I really would like Mexicans, the hardest working people in the US, to come back home and work in building our country, not some place where they are mistreated and underappreciated.

More exlpicitely: Historically, and in present day instances, White people don't like to be seen or treated the way racialized people are.
It was true in all colonized regions: Congo, Algeria, India, in segregated US, S Africa.
There's been explicit and implicit ways to be treated differently according to race.
An Israeli wouldn't put up one second living under the rules a Palestinian must.
Mentioning race is not racist.

I am not sure of what meant by being deeply racist, but opening our eyes to where and who racism is opressing is not racist.
I say that US politics are deeply racist, as are European, rooted in settler&colonialism.
What the US is doing is taking discrimination a step further, America first, with white, male first policies internally.

I have not justified colonial actions.
Russia Invaded a neighbour.

Ukraine had Nuclear weapons, got rid of them and signed accords to cease having them.
If they belonged to NATO however, they would be considered for Nuclear sharing ( Italy, Belgium, Germany and Turkey host Nuclear weapons from the US)

Here goes an analogy: Im from Mexico (we have a border with the US, invaded several times.)
Lets suppose China offred us to enter a military pact, only install a couple military bases, some ICBM sites....
Mexico, a sovereign country could choose to accept of course: freedom etc.
But. Would it be wise? Would we be surprised of US opposition and retaliations?

What the US does is destabilize regions.
After desengaging from nuclear treaties and walking over every red line, the US propped up a president in Ukraine eager to please them and join NATO.
Unsurprisingly Russia invaded Ukraine, they had motives and got an excuse.

Kamala has said that she wants the US army to be the most lethal in the world.
We've heard Biden calling ceasefires ad nauseum, appealing Israel to be less murderous in the strongest possible terms, reportedly perhaps maybe having the courage to call the Israelis(privately) to stop the bloodshed. By now it's clear he is quite happy playing along if not encouraging violence.

I am not sure about the figure of drone strikes going up under Trump. It seems they were at their maximum level under Obama and have been trending down ever since, through Trump and Biden. I also think Biden is refining the art of fighting proxy wars, Ukraine,Palestine ( Iran) not getting its drones dirty. Mostly in agreement. For us outside the US, Trump seems to be less of a threat.He is an isolationist,not particularly interested in initiating wars.
He is profit driven, not ideologically driven so less issues for other countries.
