@nprofile…5u8c the only reason to exclude the /inbox route is if you are finding a lot of bots and scrapers accessing your inbox before they scrape your profile, in theory friendicas rules and activitypubs rules should already have your inbox blocked from that activity, I created this because even with a very robust .htaccess file I was getting a lot of bots and scrapers accessing "GET" and "Profile" in my access logs, most where defeating my robots.txt and breaking the rules in .htaccess, this at the moment has killed them, first 2 days they all got 403's and then they just stopped trolling my instance at all; I think it could be customized to your individual needs, I made it shareable, I wont maintain it, it works for me and if by chance it helps anyone well all the better, by all means adapt and modify it to your instance's needs and if it works share it with the community, security and privacy in numbers I say;

So I kind of set up another level of security well not really more of a gate to help block more bots and scrapers that seem to bypass robots.txt and whatever enhancements and blocks you have in your .htaccess file, these currently are working on my #friendica instance fairly well so maybe they can help someone maybe they do nothing;
First at the very top of your index.php in the root of your friendica directory right after the <? I added the following code,

@nprofile…swm4 is this your own instance do you have access to all the files if so go to view themes and open up the style CSS for the theme you're using and look for all the colors are and change them through the code it takes a lot of trial and error to get it quite right then save it as a new theme in a new folder move everything else to that folder along with that style then enable it in admin go back to your settings select your new theme and you should have what you want again it takes a bunch of trial and error and a little bit of time to go through it and do it I had done that a couple of times ended up going back to White but I've made all my icons green anyways if it's your own instance you can copy the style sheet like I said copy the entire thing over to a new folder under a new name or rename the current style is style x and your new one is the regular style

@nprofile…th4n I had made a new folder, frio_custom even had in config to use frio_custom, but every time I do a git pull, it deletes frio_custom, so I upload a backup and try to set it as my theme, it only gives blank page, so I move them into the actual frio folder replacing all those files, and up looking at my instance, it only serves the new updates to frio, not my customization, other than the theme, where does Friendica call or store theme info? I have even tried to change from frio to frio_custom via config in db and still it fails, I was trying to keep my friendica instance current but I may have forget that if I cant get this theme issue worked out, should have been super easy, update place theme files back and done, but its not, at the moment I am working on downloading a full backup of site and db, to try and do it locally, and see what happens, going to be a day or so slow network

@nprofile…anel I have customized my instance to my liking, and I have tried to make a backup of my theme, but when I do a git pull to update my theme gets ruined, I replace all the theme files with my backup files, but Friendica serves the updated without my custom theme, I am wits end trying to figure out what's happening, can some one explain very slowly and elementary how to update Friendica core while leaving my custom frio theme alone, and no I have not renamed it.

@nprofile…thfz If the task completes, and is delivered to remote server, it will show up on remote server, the pending task notifier may never show completed even if task in fact completed, I cant remember the exact sequence but I had that happing a while back, and I had a bunch on the backend to figure out to fix it, mainly its annoying and is not actively preventing posts from being posted, just getting reported as posted hangs

@nprofile…thfz if your seeing it when posting to a group, that most likely means their server is underload and delaying processing messages, and unfortunately even if it finally is processed and post to that group friendica does not always clear that stuck task on the backend, if it starts happening a lot reach out to the admin of the group your trying to connect with, they may not be aware their instance is under load and sticking, and you could also check with your admin on the instance your on to make sure they dont have an issue without going posts, its harmless bug more than an issue most likely though,

@nprofile…e22g my guess would be that somehow you would need to create a sandbox for activitypub to see webfingers between the two without going though a live network, but you have bigger fish to fry, keep working on your original project, and then when your comfortable with taking it live, tweaks and fixes can come when you have more freedom of interaction. Sorry cant help more, im really so far out of this game, trying to map a workable path may cause more headaches than its worth, anyways, love your work keep it up.

@nprofile…e22g you may need or want the Friends Plugin for wordpress, https://wordpress.org/plugins/friends/ Its been a while since I used it, since I moved mostly away from my wordpress site and have strictly been using my friendica instance instead, but from what I remember when you make friends, you can see like share and comment on their posts across activity pub

@nprofile…e22g do you have room on your test server the setup a subdomain and to install a super simple small WordPress site with activity pub activated, I would think you should be able to interact with the two that way then I've never done it I'm only assuming, if nothing else maybe it's Food for thought for another idea

@nprofile…lhup also try, Admin/Site/Worker Maximum load average=50, Maximum number of parallel workers=20, Maximum load for workers=150, Worker defer limit=15, Worker fetch limit=25, it may help as well as double check your Database Lock Wait Timeouts, check the Friendica log files for any error messages related to lock wait timeouts, sorry I cant offer more, im a little limited on my knowledge, just sharing everything I know, because I have dealt with some of these issues, y

@nprofile…lhup then if you open terminal on your server, and cd to your friendica dir, bin/worker.php it should run the worker, and one other thing you can try, is go to myphpadmin open your database for friendica, and in the sql tab enter DELETE FROM `workerqueue` WHERE `done` = 1; which will clear all jobs completed, the task may be completed, but not cleared out of the database table. other than that maybe @hypolite can help maybe better

@nprofile…lhup if you have console/terminal access, run cd your-friendica-directory bin/console.php worker it runs your cron jobs, and gets your workers to complete jobs in the queue, it may help

@nprofile…k9z3 Guess I will have to figure a way to make it happen on my own then, the problem with having a blog, and social, no one wants to follow links, all in one works better, and as for wp and activitypub it just sucks, I have come to really like friendica and for more of a social blogging source its great, but a few things seem rather long to post in a normal post, so I was hoping to add more of a static set of pages for those longer bits, I know what I want and like is on the other end of what most like and want, well guess I will get into reading how to maybe do it on my own, maybe I wont break anything.

is there a way to create "pages" so if someone went to my profile social.2ndshot.photos/profile/… along with Profile, Conversations, Photos and Media I could add like, About being a more detailed profile, and then like Thoughts, a page or pages, where I could put longer posts apposed to the current flow and layout, the end game, would be dare I say replace my selfhosted wpblog, as people hate following links, I want to turn my Friendica instance into a all in one I am however clueless if possible and even more clueless on how to do it if it is possible. Also it would be helpful if on those pages they could be formatted so text could be inserted using html, not sure this is doable, just something I think would be really useful and make this instance far more versatile,

why does browser.pub keep reporting that @nprofile…yj56 is Not Discoverable, I have been trying to figure this out for a while, I have even verified that the database is correct in its setting as to discovery, I am not sure why it keeps showing as not, but I believe what ever is causing it is also wreaking havoc on my posts actually getting out, If I directly mention or respond to someone's posts, there is a better chance of being seen, but even that has been hit or mis, and no I am not seeing errors, and when I turn on logging, I do not see anything that would explain this.
