ICE was seen this morning in Bellevue WA forcefully kidnapping a man driving in traffic and being agro to confused and scared suburban morning drivers. The man was heard screaming "Auxilio", "Help!" in Spanish.
This happened just before 8am around SE 24th Street & 148th Avenue SE.

Hey Washington, there's a profoundly bad law making its way through the state level.
This law, will require ALL 3d printers to send copies of the files you print directly to the government to be check against a database of "banned shapes".
Literally turning your 3d printer into spyware. And if you don't voluntarily turn your printer into a spy, you will be a class C Felon.

But meshcore? We have basically an IRC channel from Portland to Vancouver.
The connection to Portland is very flaky but its pretty cool to get traffic back and forth to Canada no problem.

Can't help but notice that The Guardian and Wall Street Journal have both voluntarily retracted claims strongly linking the suspect in Kirk's death as a leftist.
I post this not because I think it strengthens the claims of any particular ideology but as one more marker in the shear volume of misinformation and disinformation spread by sloppy police statements and careless media reviews of the limited information so far.

Imo mastodon's Activity Pub and Bluesky's AT both fail as truly democratic platforms.
The fact there will be 3rd party censor ship choices for -any- party other than the sender and receiver is a fail in my book.
It seems as if in blue sky it may be tough to detect unwanted post curation shall we say. Where as mastodon i think that's easier to check.

My read of the situation is that basically bluesky has 3x server roles and even more usage of DNS records. Whereas typical mastodon instances only really think about 1 logical server and 1 DNS record to think about. So imo it still is more expensive.
I'm not 100% convinced by the bluesky architecture (well more so, I'm not sure of the full picture) it still seems needlessly complex and well, just different from ActivityPub, for the sake of doing something different.

DEI literally never existed.
As far as I'm concerned it was never anything more than a corporate buzz phrase and a handful of pizza parties.
It had minimal effect on Black employment and had no impact on the absolute collapse of Black business creation(as measured in loan activity and VC dollars).
In real terms Black Americans did worse during the DEI era than before. DEI was lip service to distract from the fact we were loosing significant ground and still are.

The news from the West Bank is such a mixed bag this week.
In another story of a released West Bank Palestinian, this father spent 20years in Israeli prison. He was abducted by the IOF while his wife was 5 months pregnant and he'd never gotten to meet his son until this week. His son is now a man and the two cried in each others arms at their first reunion this week.

In other news the situation in the West Bank remains extremely dangerous. Israel has been shifting its genocide to the West Bank. In the last two days an 11 year old boy was seen on video shot by an IOF sniper while I played on the sidewalk in Tulkarm. He's in critical condition.
Earlier in the week Israeli soldiers were shooting randomly into West Bank homes and murdered a two year old girl.

The school shooter expressed both on her social media and in her alleged manifesto alignment with "RadFem Hitler", basically the merger of neo nazi beliefs with TERF ideology but sold as feminism.
They advocate for the genocide of men, specifically starting with minorities, women who they see as race+gender traitors and of course trans people.
This violently misandrist ideology & it's followers are yet to be labeled a hate group by the likes of the SPLC but it clearly is over due.

This is breaking news so things may change as more info comes out but imo the timeline of the release of the manifesto & when authorities reported critical info which would have been needed for trolls to create a fake manifesto was not sufficient for this to more likely be a fake than authentic.

The Seattle activist community has been shocked by the news of the murder of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi at the hands of Israeli snipers in the West Bank. Ayşenur was a student at UW and was active at protests here in Seattle.
She traveled to the village of Beita in the West Bank after graduation to work as a volunteer legal observer documenting the destruction and theft of Palestinian lands in the area.

Just this passed week California Democrats essentially sabotaged the latest efforts.
They passed only one third of the bills needed to begin instituting reparations. But the bill they passed (a land trust) cannot stand alone. Without the 2nd bill, actual funding and the 3rd, a new department to determine eligibility, this version is currently dead in the water.

Happy heavenly birthday to chairman Fred Hampton.
Hampton was the visionary behind the breakfast program the Black Panthers were known for among many other projects. It's incredible that he started feeding dozens of kids while he was only 10 himself 🤯
The sheer scale and growth in these programs that Fred achieved in such a short time is literally why there are so many government run school meal programs now.
They felt existentially threatened by Black people NOT starving.

Russian media is reporting Ukrainian forces armed with American cluster bombs attacked civilians on a Sevastopol beach in occupied Crimea. At least 3 civilians dead and nearly 100 injured.
The Biden admin was initially reluctant to give Ukraine these types of long-range cluster bombs due to their ease of use to commit war crimes.
