Do you find this Grok-generated image absurd? It's a straightforward representation of the shocking contents of Julie's characteristically excellent article.

“A number of the transphobic feminists in the UK have simply confessed to thinking that a person with a penis is somebody who will attack them. Why do we say that about people who have penises? You can be attacked. You can be attacked by your mother, biologically designated as female. You could be brutalized by her, because she has hands that will hit. Do we therefore fault the hand? No, we do not fault the hand.
“There is a deep phobia about the penis, a kind of social and phatasmagoric overdetermination of its nefarious character. A transwoman is pre-operative, or chooses not to have her penis removed, using a bathroom is therefore a threat to other women in the bathroom who don’t have penises? Why? Because of the penis itself?
“That is not the case. How many men would never rape? How many people with penises would never do that? And how many trans women with penises see likely to do such a thing? It is a fiction, a fantasy. It doesn’t even understand what it means to seek to put the penis out of play as the centre of sexuality, which is sometimes the case for trans women.
“It’s astonishing, phobic projection. I can’t believe that it even qualifies as a public argument. It’s embarrassing to me.”
But to get the full effect you have to watch the video. I had never heard Judith Butler speak before. Her pretension is radioactive.
