Bitcoin just had a 2-block reorg.
Foundry wound up mining 7 blocks in a row and rewrote two of AntPool/ViaBTC's blocks out of history.
At blocks 941881–941882, Foundry and AntPool/ViaBTC were racing on competing chains simultaneously.
Foundry won and their chain became the best chain. AntPool and ViaBTC's two blocks became stale.
They are now orphaned, never to be part of the permanent ledger.

Quick explainer on what a reorg actually is:
Bitcoin's rule is simple: the chain with the most cumulative work wins.
Sometimes two miners find a valid block at nearly the same time.
The network splits briefly, with some nodes following one chain and others following another.
The tie gets broken when someone mines the next block on top of one of them and the longer chain wins.
The losing blocks become "stale" and are discarded entirely.
Those miners get nothing.
A 2-block reorg means this race extended across two consecutive blocks before resolving. This is rare but not unheard of.

When Donald Trump was first sworn into office in January of 2017, the national debt stood at $19.9 trillion dollars.
It is now over $39 trillion.
We are less than ten days from the ten-year anniversary of Trump's campaign promise to eliminate the national debt within eight years.
It has instead roughly doubled.
It appears Trump has also given up on his campaign promise of "No New Wars.”
We are on the verge of escalating tensions in the Middle East to levels not seen since Operation Iraqi Freedom.
With the Pentagon requesting an additional $200 billion for operations in Iran on top of a $1.5 trillion defense budget, the fiscal floodgates are being thrown wide open.
Maybe even more alarming than the debt total itself is the new cost of carrying it.
Net interest on the national debt is projected to exceed one trillion dollars in fiscal year 2026.
That's nearly triple the $345 billion we paid in 2020 prior to COVID.
Over the next thirty years, the government is projected to spend nearly one hundred trillion dollars on interest alone.
And of course nothing balloons the debt and creates new money like war.
In WWI, US money supply went up 117%. In WWII, up 200%.
The avalanche is coming as nine in ten Americans now say this debt is directly driving up their cost of living.
And while gold stole the show in 2025, since the outbreak of the Iran conflict, the market has made a choice. Gold is down 16%; Bitcoin is up 11%.
People fleeing the Middle East are liquidating their gold as it's too heavy and too hard to move.
Instead they're buying Bitcoin.
The debt was already exploding. Now we have a conflict on the precipice of erupting into a much larger war.
Bitcoin's resilience tells you everything about what this asset is and what it's becoming.

This week, Strategy bought 22,337 bitcoin. Miners produced 3,150.
That means Michael Saylor bought more than seven times the weekly mined supply in a bear market.
And the deeper you look into it, the wilder it gets.
STRC, Strategy’s preferred stock, raised $1.18 billion last week alone.
This is from a fixed income instrument that did not even exist eight months ago.
A preferred equity product, the kind of thing that normally trades quietly in the background for institutional accounts, just printed $2.2 billion in weekly volume.
$740 million in a single day.
There is no other fixed income product on earth trading like this.
STRC with its 11.5% dividend is becoming the Bitcoin accumulation machine Saylor has always dreamed of.
Every dollar that flows into STRC becomes bitcoin on Strategy’s balance sheet, eliminating thousands of future potential wholecoiners, permanently.
The dividend obligation is fixed, backed by over $2 billion in cash and over $55B worth of Bitcoin.
All while the bitcoin stack keeps compounding.
Critics call it a Ponzi. But they said the same thing about bitcoin at $1. At $100. At $10,000.
The critics always believe bitcoin’s best days are behind it.
If you believe in Bitcoin's long-term appreciation, which the track record demands you do, the math works out overwhelmingly in Strategy's favor.
Now extrapolate further.
Over the last two weeks, STRC raised $1.557 billion. Even in a conservative scenario, assume two dead weeks every month and zero growth, Strategy could still raise another $16 billion from STRC alone before the end of the year.
This would increase their Bitcoin stack by nearly 30% without diluting common MSTR shareholders.
Strategy is already buying 2.66 times the global mining rate and the supply vacuum is accelerating.
And we have not even seen what this machine looks like in a bull market.

NEW: A new 11 year study analyzing Bitcoin’s resilience to submarine cable failures finds the network remains highly robust even when critical internet infrastructure is disrupted.
Using data from 2014 to 2025 and 68 verified cable fault events, researchers found random cable failures would require roughly 72% to 92% of inter country connections to fail before causing major node disconnection.
Targeted attacks are more effective but still require 5% to 20% of key connections to be disrupted.
The study also found Tor usage increases Bitcoin’s resilience because relay bandwidth is concentrated in well connected regions.
Empirical results show 87% of historical cable faults caused less than 5% node impact.

U.S. TREASURY SET FOR RECORD $15B DEBT BUYBACK
The U.S. Treasury is projected to repurchase $15 billion of its own debt today, marking the largest Treasury buyback operation on record.
The move is designed to boost market liquidity, support Treasury market functioning, and refinance older bonds into newer issues.

BITCOIN SUPPLY SURPASSES 20 MILLION BTC
Seventeen years after the January 2009 genesis block, Bitcoin’s mined supply has now surpassed 20 million BTC, according to onchain data.
The milestone occurred at block 939,999, with the current block subsidy at 3.125 BTC.
The next Bitcoin halving is currently projected for April 11, 2028.
With each halving reducing issuance, supply will continue slowing.
The final 1 million bitcoin are expected to be mined over the next ~114 years, with the last satoshis issued around 2140, when Bitcoin reaches its 21 million cap.

TREASURY REPORT ACKNOWLEDGES LEGITIMATE USES FOR CRYPTO MIXERS
A new report to Congress from the US Treasury Department says digital asset mixers can serve lawful purposes, including protecting financial privacy on public blockchains.
According to the report, individuals may use mixers to shield sensitive information about personal wealth, business payments, or charitable donations from being publicly visible on-chain.
Treasury also notes that as digital asset payments grow, users may increasingly rely on privacy tools to prevent their spending habits from being exposed.
The report adds that custodial mixers operating as compliant money services businesses must register with FinCEN, maintain records, and file suspicious activity reports.
When compliant, these services can provide regulators and law enforcement with customer identities, transaction data, and behavioral insights tied to illicit flows

CALIFORNIA GAS PRICES COULD HIT $8/GALLON AS SOME STATIONS ALREADY REACH THE LEVEL
California lawmakers and industry experts warn gas prices could surge above $8 per gallon statewide this year, driven by climate policies, refinery closures, and global oil market turmoil.

STARTUP TEASES BITCOIN MINING IN SPACE
US startup Starcloud says it plans to launch a dedicated bitcoin mining rig into orbit later this year, potentially becoming the first company to mine bitcoin in space.
The announcement came from Starcloud CEO Philip Johnston during an appearance on the HyperChange YouTube channel.
Johnston said the company is currently focused on building its orbital data center constellation but confirmed that bitcoin mining hardware is also part of its near term plans.
“There’s also bitcoin mining,” Johnston said. “We’ll have some bitcoin mining ASICs on the second spacecraft launching later this year.”
The move follows Starcloud’s successful test of running an Nvidia H100 GPU in orbit, demonstrating that high performance compute infrastructure can operate in space.
Johnston says the long term vision centers on energy.
Orbital data centers and mining rigs could tap continuous solar power in space, potentially providing a cheaper and more scalable energy source than what is available on Earth.
Compared with enterprise AI hardware like Nvidia GPUs, which can cost $30,000 or more, bitcoin mining machines are relatively inexpensive, typically ranging from $600 to a few thousand dollars.
“The cat is out of the bag,” Johnston said on X. “Starcloud will be the first to mine bitcoin in space.”
He added that the opportunity could be massive, noting that bitcoin mining currently consumes roughly 20 GW of power globally and arguing that in the long run, a significant portion of that compute could move off planet.

WAR BREAKS OUT AND BITCOIN STANDS ITS GROUND
Heading into the weekend, Bitcoin was sitting at $65,000.
It had spent most of February trapped in a tight range, between $65K to $70K, following the February 5th flash crash.
The market was indecisive and coiled up like a spring.
Then at 1:30am on the East Coast, the timeline exploded as word spread across X that Iran had been hit by a joint US-Israeli strike force.
Within 30 minutes, Bitcoin dropped $3,000, eliminating $128 billion in market cap in the blink of an eye.
As the largest and most liquid market open at that hour, Bitcoin took the full impact.
Markets hate uncertainty and nothing creates uncertainty like the threat of large-scale war at the center of global oil production.
Trump has shown a pattern of launching strikes on weekends, when traditional markets are closed with hopes of containing fallout before the Monday market open.
Bitcoin doesn't get that luxury as it trades 24/7.
But look at what happened next.
Within 12 hours Bitcoin was back above the price it was trading at when the bombs started falling.
Bitcoin is now up on bad news.
That is the first time we've seen this behavior since the March 2023 regional banking crisis.
And it's happening with negative funding, a flat futures basis, and historically elevated skew. The kind of setup that is tinder for a major trend change.
Now factor in that BlackRock's own research shows that Bitcoin responds best to geopolitical events.
After the 2020 US-Iran escalation, Bitcoin rose 20% over the following 60 days while gold was flat and stocks declined.
And this weekend exposed something else entirely.
Before the strike, commentator Shanaka Anslem Perera argued that Iran mines Bitcoin at roughly $1,320 per coin on subsidized electricity and that a military campaign collapsing Iran's grid would wipe out 2–5% of global hashrate overnight.
He projected longer block times, spiking fees, and systemic disruption for Bitcoin.
Instead? Bitcoin network hashrate is now back above 1 zettahash and still climbing, showing no disruption whatsoever from this weekend’s campaign.
Bitcoin is not a regional asset. It's not dependent on one grid, regime, or jurisdiction.
That's the whole point.
Geopolitical tension is, in fact, one of Bitcoin’s strongest use cases.
Resilient financial infrastructure without a single point of failure.
Decentralized and secure anywhere on the planet.
It’s time to discuss whether this weekend marked the beginning of a structural shift in how the market treats Bitcoin during global conflict.
Is this the moment Bitcoin stops trading like a tech beta… and starts trading like the sovereign-neutral collateral it always has been?

THE PUETZ CRASH WINDOW IS UPON US
The Puetz Crash Window is a market timing theory developed by statistician Steve Puetz.
It argues that major market crashes are statistically more likely when a full moon that is also a lunar eclipse follows shortly after a solar eclipse.
Puetz observed that eight of history’s largest crashes occurred within six days before to three days after a full moon that fell within six weeks of a solar eclipse.
He calculated the odds of that clustering as so small that he labeled it a statistical anomaly and formalized what became known as the “Puetz Crash Window.”
Under the framework, markets often peak a few days before the eclipse-linked full moon, drift sideways into the event, and then enter a panic phase lasting two to four weeks. The key setup:
• A solar eclipse occurs
• The first full moon after is also a lunar eclipse
• Markets are already in a bubble or fragile state
In 2026, the pattern aligns again.
A solar eclipse occurred February 17, 2026.
A full moon and total lunar eclipse follows March 3, 2026.
Based on Puetz’s model, an idealized market peak would fall 2 to 4 days before the eclipse full moon, placing the high between February 27 and March 2, just before the lunar eclipse trigger date.
Of course this not a fundamental or technical indicator and is criticized by many as superstition rather than science.
Even Puetz emphasized that eclipses create a high risk window, not a guaranteed crash, and typically only when excess and instability are already present.
But there is a vibe in the air...
