It does feels dramatic at first. But it’s less “all jobs vanish” and more “we’re no longer forced to work just to survive.”
Booth isn’t saying work disappears, he’s saying we get to choose what kind of work we want to do. Purpose doesn’t vanish, it just gets decoupled from survival.
So maybe the better party question in the future isn’t “What do you do?”but “What are you building?” or “What drives you?”
That’s the Glass Half Full answer, but that’s how I see the future.

Since I stopped running the relay project about a year ago I had been away from #nostr and came back this week inspired by the #GetAlbyHub work. It is amazing to see the growth here. But more importantly, the network effects are pretty solid from my POV.

#[0] did a great analysis of #[1] blog post https://fiatjaf.com/ab1127fb.html "Bluesky is a scam" - and as much as I hate to agree on this since it is work being done by a lot of people I follow and admire, I agree with the analysis. That is why I #Nostr
The area that I feel needs work is Identity on #Nostr - the decentralized approach brings some interesting challenges, but that will only bring additional innovation. Let's not waste the work done by DecentralizedIDFoundation e.g. https://identity.foundation/ion/

We need to find folks that have commonality with the #nostr mentality - DIY music (such as Punk Rock - a bit biased) is a perfect example. Trying to do this with with my other account - using hashtag #nostrpunx (using wavlake and zapstr.live) - if you have other passions, bring them to #Nostr and try to build a "separate community" this will help.

If you do not have the private key in a device that you own, or that device has been plugged in to a network where any other devices have access, you should make the assumption that key is comprised. Now, your play sats, that’s fine. Meaning you HODL so much you don’t mind losing those sats. I am cheap and hold only a few sats in my #[2] lightning wallet so I can #zap some #plebs. (Yes, I should build my ln-node… bla, bla, bla)

I have been thinking about music for awhile, and while listening to Rick Beato on his latest Vlog, I realized Nostr can be the missing piece that “local” radio had prior to 1996 - multiple music services (may provide a niche for a particular genre) act as the “local stations”. It depends on the rlays and how the clients handle the discovery. You are not dealing with a monolithic connection from 1 client to a set of servers that have the same data. Some relays may hold a different set of “followers” - Moral of the story, let's be less concerned about followers and likes, and rather provide content that acquires the most sats. The real metric in the Nostr ecosystem.

Yeah, I agree with all those options. Yet, how to do that without losing end-users? Maybe it just needs to be tried to see what is most effective. Maybe, Clients can take a cut of each Zap? Or…. Provide a way for advertisers to spread to a wider relay options for a fee? Any of these options will piss of someone for sure….

It is an interesting perspective, but from my own financials and budget, it is pretty easy to see the impact on food prices to income. In the past 5 years I have had fairly steady income growth (although below inflation levels) and yet our total budget for food has increased at a faster rate. Now, I am lucky to be able to absorb this (it means stacking less sats), but many people can't.
