There's a story by Robert Heinlein called "The Moon is a Harsh Misteress" which is a retelling of the American Revolution in a futuristic setting on the moon. At the beginning of the story, people living there are basically in a prison colony.
That's what rich people want. They want captive populations who must work to survive in faraway places, and who die within a day if they don't work.
That's their ideal.

Went to the grocery store. Stood in line behind someone who paid 86 dollars for a carton of cigarettes. I winced.
I could tell she was feeling the pain of that number, but she didn't want to refuse it, either. She looked like was stuck in a Faustian bargain.

As a New Hampshire resident, I can tell you a car is a liability/burden during snowstorms. If you happen to be in hospital, or otherwise engaged- such as working- when the snowstorm hits, you get your car towed. Then the local municipalities just keep raising their towing fines instead of opening new parking lot locations for snowstorms.
You have to get up at 7 AM, regardless of your work schedule, and walk all the way down to the designated lot to retrieve your car. It's gross.

I feel depressed.
The collapse of America is coming. Whatever that looks like, or will mean, I don't know.
But I suspect that, with so many people not being able to afford things and having their property (cars / houses) mortgaged out to banks, it's going to be a rough time.
The worst part is, I don't see any way out of it except to let it happen.

If Kiwifarms don't get banned entirely out of Bluesky as soon as possible, then you know what Bluesky is going to be and where they're going.
We don't particularly need another Parler, another MeWe, another TruthSocial, another Twitter, etc.
There's no money in conservative social media, except what Russia is willing to fund.
