I'm probably the wrong person to answer this for you because I think all investment in digital currencies or goods is basically a pyramid scheme that funnels money from people who buy now into the pockets of early adopters. (though I do support the existence of them for the purposes of circumventing the financial system) What I THINK bitcoin maximalists hate about NFTs is that those people could be using their money to pump up the price of bitcoin so it feels like a loss.

The bitcoin ecosystem is really confusing and there are a ton of pitfalls like this. ~20% of all bitcoin is actually locked away and unrecoverable from people losing their keys. Don't let anyone tell you it's your fault for losing coins. It's confusing as hell and even multimillionaire tech people fuck up royally all the time.
