Patiently and eagerly waiting for development. Very early! Early tech is so fragile and can blow up at any moment — trust me, I’ve been there. It requires a tender touch and support from not just the brainiacs but the visual creatives, too!

Client fragmentation and lack of “killer” UX holds it back. Not to say that makes it a death sentence — it just needs work. I’ve spent years putting customers first, and it’s what I think leads to success in every arena. Just like the cypherpunks during my time, developers now *sometimes* tend to be shortsighted in thinking about the end-user.

Nostr and Lightning Address appear to be the most exciting developments atm (although I am fascinated in validity rollups — still learning). Definitely interesting and we're keeping an eye on it at Amazon. We've dipped our toes into biometrics with Amazon One - super cool stuff. But let's be clear, privacy isn't just a buzzword for us, it's in our DNA. We're all about pushing boundaries, but not at the cost of user trust. Proceeding with eyes wide open. CBDCs might fail with Bitcoin as a standard. So like I said, we’re sitting back and watching before doing anything.

We took a look at it, as we do several disruptive techs. Regulation, liquidity, and UX was a big hurdle for us. We’re not experts in everything, and we didn’t want to be moving too quickly in a way that missed the mark. I’m a fan of Bitcoin, but as one of the largest corporations, we have all eyes on us. It’s a different ballgame. We’re big fans of what risks and bold steps startups are taking!
