Depends. Most of the time Wase (is separate umgoogled sandbox). The data on police patrols is unbeaten. But the privacy downside it's obvious (it's owned by Google). Sometimes OsmAnd~ when I need to be not-watched / offline or when I am in the urban/remote areas where knowing detailed cartographic data is more important then traffic/police warnings.

I would love to see the decentralized grid, but I think this may be really expensive-innefective to achieve.

Can you please share the math? 🙏
I know that thermal efficiency of gas turbines/engines is something like ~30%.
Also they probably produce 230V AC, converting it to battery (~50DC) would add 10% loss for every conversion. This is good to keep in mind, but it's not directly affecting the comparsion. Because yes, fossils have higher energy density then any batteries we have.

I have found a really badass use case. It turns out you can send a notification to your >ungoogled< GrapheOS without Google Play Services from Home Assistant and it will play the notification via TTS on the device

The worst thing is, they are in a very twisted way right.
The legacy codebase of the Law is so complicated and entangled that in many cases, you actually "need" a new regulation to enable something or make something which was unclear a bit more clearer.
What a twisted world we have. State created a shit show of bad laws, and now instead of removing them, they are constantly patching them. And as with any legacy codebase, you patch one bug and create ten new issues...

Bitcoiners are good targets IMO mainly because: (if done correcty): it's easier to cash-out the loot/ransome (and then staying free and enjoing the money) then with fiat:
Mainly because (usually) if you kindnap them, they are able to send money without others involved. This gives you (as an attacker) great advantage in timing. By the time relatives of the victim realizes the shit happened, you are already on the run with the money.
+ irreversibility of the TX, non-physicality of the money and some anonymity features of crypto makes it even easier to cash-out and live free with the money
Yes they are wealthier targets out there... But bitcoiners are IMO less riskier to attack then some businessman with cash in

People have different opinions on stuff and value stuff differently. That's the reason why betting exists (different opinions on the probability of the outcome).
Sometime it's because value is subjective, sometime it's because one of them is wrong.
DCA is representation of both. People value fiat stability and they are buying it, ignorant to the fact that the bulk-buy overperforms it in most of the cases.

Hynek pays for my beers and I give him my IOU (cashu tokens) in return, because we don't share a LN channel. Next time he goes out with my friend Theo who pays the bill. Because Theo trusts me, Hynek can pay him with my IOUs (cashu tokens). Theo has big & fat channel with me and immediately settles the dept by claiming IOUs for LNsats that Ihave issued to Hynek.
And the beat part: we can automate this. When Hynek pays to Theo, the app can figure out, that best (most fee efficient) way is to give my IOUs to Theo, because Theo (his app) will share to Hynek who he trust.
There are technical changes tho. To make this work automagically everyone has to be able to operate good mint (always online). However, there is nice auto-clearing mechanism. If your mint is shit, you lose your cred and noone will accept your IOUs. This can be automated as well.
See, everyone can be theis own bank with Bitcoin, but he'll, can everyone be their own FED?

If I want to sell something nowadays you have to run website with eshop. This is quite easily trackable. Server has IP and has to be hosted somewhere and managed (you have to connect time to time). Even if you hide yourself behind Tor and stuff you will eventually make mistake and they get you.
What if a local client with embedded Tor allows you to publish items, and then you download orders simply as notes (replies to thet note) on Nostr. You confirm them and once they get paid you simply Shipp them.
No server, no management. Just a protocol, local clients and trully free market.

When support tells me "try to turn of your VPN" they are telling me to compromise my privacy just because they do shitty job in spam protection/whatever.
When they tell me, solve it without forcing your clients to compromise on privacy
In case I am a paying customer be sure I won't ne one very quickly.
If website/software does not work, because I have "bad IP" or I have an AdBlock I simply close it and lose interest.

I talked to a guy from them at BTC Prague.
1) They are regulated under El Salvador law
2) The law requires and identifier, but does not specify what is shall be
3) Phone number for convince
4) Somehow you can create account just with an email (I think is somehow hidden under demo account
5) They will use the ID of the Android or something (probably works only on Android)
However, if you are on GrapheneOS they will block it, as this ID is changed every time cos' GrapheneOS does good job.
I tried many online SMS gates (even paid). None worked.
Maybe there is some, but I lost m interestet.
They simp for government, so they are irrelevant for me.

I utilize (sadly) Discord a lot. It servers me as a structured way of communicating with my friends.
We use it for sharing notes, ideas, links, etc...
We need history for documentation and I love channels as great way how keep topics separated.
I would not ashamed to have hundreds channels on my Discord server.
I really wish, there is a nostr-bases app with same awesome UI (without Discord ads and spam ofc), as Discord has.

Also I think that natgas (we call it CNG) works same as propane for those electric generators.

Yep, I agree but this would be only backup. I don't want to rely on it on day-day basis.
In apocalypse, heating must be pain wood, electricity solar. Cooking and water heating on electricity and on the fire stove as backup.
But in my latitude the solar is very, very bad in winter moths, so to survive the winter without blackout I need something as backup.

I was planning to have a diesel generator as a backup in my household in case shit hits the fan.
Problem is, that diesel degenerates over time and has to be replenished frequently. Solution can be that you tank it into car from storage and refill fresh fuel.
But I think I found another solution: propane. It can be stored basically indefinitely and there are electricity generators that runs on both diesel and propane.

Also backup diesel aggregator is on my list. The solar won't help me much in winter if shit hits the fan. But having a diesel storage is hard as you need to refill it basically every 3 months or so as diesel degrades. Not sure if I will be able to cycle it through my car (tank from storage and deplace with new).
Stove and wood for a winter are also something I definitely need to have.

I am on that path. Do you know some good home solution to run many services like this? What hardware? How to orchestrate? Are you using docker?
Basically it means to build home data-center in a kind.
I already have off-grid solar, own water source. I still need my own filtration and waste handling. The last is kind hard for me as my property is no big an I may not get the permit.
This is the problem of sovereignty: once you start doing hardware (solar, ...) you are visible and easily targetable by oppression (regulation). I have no solution for this, sadly.

Cape Verde Is interesting country. Two currencies are used here simultaneously: Escudo and Euro.
Escudo is pegged to euro at rate 110.265.
But sreet practice is to use 1 euro as 100 escudos so for tourists it's a bit more expensive to pay with euro. But to be fair, if you get change in euros (and it's fairly common, at least in tourist parts of the Islands) it's also is this rate.
ATMs are limited to 20000 escudos per day. Bank will change you any amount but you have to show passport/ID.
Paying with card will cost you 3-4% as merchants will usually pass this cost onto you.
And finally, getting money into the country will cost 7-10% in bank/western union fees.

Payin with Bitcoin is in many countries a taxable event. Therefore using your real name, phone and email address is a bad idea.
If you don't boast on Facebook, they probably won't target specifically you, but the ehop. They ask for data from it, and go for those who spend more then X in Bitcoin.
So you don't need perfect anonymity, you only need not be linked to ordrrs in that eshop. You also need to separate your orders, to make sure they are not able cluster your data and figure out you spend a lot there and that you are therefore probably valuable target (and invest more resources to identify you).
This can be done quite conviniently with https://proton.me/pass for free. It has also pretty good app for Android on F-Droid.
1. Create an email alias
2. Order stuff online
3. Provide random ‼️believable ‼️name, surname and address. You need to blend with the crowd‼️
4. Use some delivery box, not your real address‼️
5. Use random phone number
6. Use the alias
7. Make sure the code/pass for picking the goods in the box will arrive to the email and not just as text to the phone number - you don't have it, it's random.
8. After you pick-up the goods, delete the alias, never re-use them. There is also limit of 10 aliases in free tier of Proton.

Your phone tracks you. It broadcasts IMEI (phone identifier) and IMSI (SIM card identifier). Telco-company then tracks your EVERY move!
Here is what to do to mitigate it:
- Buy Pixel Phone
- Install GrapheneOS on it
- Turn on Flight Mode and NEVER turn it off
- Buy Mudi router and install Blue Merle addon to it
- Change IMEI of the Mudi and put anonymous SIM into it (with data tarif)
- Use Mudi as hotspot for your Pixel Phone with GrapheneOS
- Regularly replace SIM and hange IMEI of the Mudi

How do I remember them? How do I make sure I know them when I need them?
I have a routine to do a Backup Check drill every month.
I have a reminder with a checklist similar to this:
- [ ] Is;sync between my devices working?
- [ ] I manually check/copy long term backups.
- [ ] Is my online stash for emergency recovery working? Do I know the login & pass? I upload newest version of encrypted password managed to the online stash.
- [ ] Do I know the Duress PIN / Wipe code?
It's line an evac/fire emergency drill. You do it regularly so you don't forget how to do it.

The are few lessons from Samourai shutdown and arrest:
1. If there is someone to be arrested, charged, trialed and executed. They will. It is absurdly hard to do the OpSec right and stay anonymous and do something big in the same time.
2. If there is an website to be shut down it will be. US basically owns all the domains and there is nothing to do about it. If they decide to sieze domain they will.
3. If there is an server with potentially unencrypted data, we MUST assume government will have it at some point. Hiding a server with big traffic is close to impossible.
4. Inviting Russian oligarchy (with doxxed account) on Twitter to the Samourai isn't wise. Let sleeping dogs lie. Shut the fuck up when governments listen.
5. If you live in the country that extradicts people to the US, you will be extradicted.
