For the audio nerds.
https://youtu.be/O8zIJ0A--lI
If you create a parallel track of a source, then use a band-pass filter and invert the phase on the new track, you get a hard infinite notch filter. Then compress the band-pass track and you get a situation where the notch is released the more the compressor is engaged. This is perfect for taking out annoying drum resonances without effecting the EQ of the drum hit itself. Absolute genius!

Logical fallacy. Yes there is such a thing as non-processed carbs. But anyone who goes on a diet is eating processed carbs. The existence of non-processed carbs is irrelevant.

2026-06-10 05:35:50 UTC

- reply

I think there is definitely something to keto over other diets. But I think there is something else going on most of the time that is even more effective. When you cut out sugar and carbs you are basically eliminating all modern processed food. And what you are left with is real food. That is the key difference.

I'm hearing rumblings about Ukraine forcing an end to the war by the end of the year by turning the tide. And I see Mearsheimer stating the exact opposite. In general I'm usually on the side that Ukraine is corrupt and delusional. But Russia is just as corrupt, and they are one of the undisputed masters of propoganda. I'm starting to think the Russians are doomed to fizzle out due to believing their own bullshit. It's been a long time and they're getting nowhere.

Instead he just magically gets good for no reason.

When I wrote that I wasn't even thinking about it from a practical sense. I was actually thinking about it from a symbolic point of view. Things with life are chaotic. They have agency. They have a personality. The animating spirit that created cultures around the world was alive.
But now it's a spirit of legalism, of digital algorithms and databases and structure. We are nothing but economic units. We have no meaning. The world is sterile, and so is our spirit.

2026-05-28 06:21:49 UTC

Have the laser go for a random amount of time between 30sec-2min. Analyse the interference pattern in the first 30sec. Does the amount of interference indicate how long the experiment will go for?
Turns out yes. The single photon isn't interfering with itself in space. It's interfering with other photons in time!

The key thing is from a US Empire perspective you need to project over VAST distances, and be completely out of reach and invisible to radar. A rocket could do it but it's not reusable. Maybe Elon could do something about that. But if you deploy from orbit it's going to be no where near accurate enough.

2026-05-07 07:34:09 UTC

Prediction for future of warfare. Planes like the B2 bomber with be designed to deploy 1000's of autonomous drones by dropping them out of the sky. These drones will be single use explosives with a short battery life. They will fall out of the plane, wake up and stabilize when near the ground, and navigate using a pattern recognition algorithm of the surrounding terrain compared with 3D mapping data.
