Though “American Pie” explains, indirectly, why nobody watches *The Phantom Menace* any more. Weird Al Yankovic’s use of the melody in “The Saga Begins” tells the story better in five and a half minutes than the movie did in two and a half hours.

My experience with northern paper wasps is that they’re mildly curious and mostly harmless when they’re out and about. Once they’re satisfied that you’re neither food nor a threat, they’re perfectly happy to go about their business and move along.

It should be pretty obvious by now that as of Tuesday the USMCA is a dead letter. This is the weekend for Canada to get together with Mexico, the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand — along with the UK, should they condescend to participate — to effect a co-ordinated retaliatory response…and to deliver a joint ultimatum — America stands down, or we *buy* nothing *from* them, and we *sell* nothing *to* them.
