I've just setup my own #snac instance and made a test post but I'm not sure anyone can see it ? I'm not even sure it's left the server here? I have the web interface all working and I think I needed to open port 8001 on my firewall too. My user is @npub1ne6…hhrn .

No I don't tbh all I can say is I love it and the support from the calyxos devs is 1st class. I only have microg so I can run my UK banking apps otherwise I'd drop that too. As for my FP4 I have loved it from day one.

In between been called out this weekend I've been playing with my #Fairphone4 which has #Calyxos and #MicroG . I've known about #Obtainium for a while but never thought I'd install it until now. Guess who loves it and I get new releases of apps before #Fdroid . I also ditched calyxos default launcher for #NiagraLauncher and I'm really loving the work flow. Even bought the full version and installed the apk with Obtanium. It maybe doesn't look much but I like it. 😍

Seeing news that real time stuff is finally making it into the #Linux kernel after 20 years and then discovering that it's been available in #FreeBSD for a while and all you have to do is enable the mac_priority module.

I was going to add that my site is self hosted by ammending the line on the footer that already says "Powered by FreeBSD".
Does it sound wrong as follows ?
"Self Hosted and Powered by FreeBSD"
Or ?
"Self Hosted, Powered by FreeBSD"
Or even something else ??? My brain is fried today as work has been full on. 🤔

Strange question. I'm writing my backup script and the part for jails I've decided to keep daily backups for a month. I was going to use the following to prune them and yes I know I'm using the -print option to test first.
find /path/to/backup/jails/ -mindepth 1 -mtime +31 -depth -print
What value would you use as obvs some months have only 28 days ?? Just leave at 31 ?
Or do you know a better way to do this in sh ?

OK folk answer me this. Why as a constant #Linux user since the early 90's do I keep leaning towards #BSD ? Yeah I'm going to use it on my homelab but i keep yearning for it to be my daily driver too. Is it an age thing and if so does this happen to most Linux users in later life ? I feel like Eve wanting to taste the forbidden fruit if that makes any sense at all ? 😂 :freebsd:

Hi thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm Justine I'm a marine electronics engineer to trade which basically means I install / repair anything on a vessel from satellite internet and sat TV to autopilots, radars, VHFs and navigational equipment. Other than that I've been a #Linux user since around 2000 and even worked on the distro LRs Linux that basically compiled from scratch according to the users hardware and was LFS based. My current daily driver is #ChimeraLinux and my WM of choice is #RiverWm
I am currently migrating my #homelab from #Ubuntu to #FreeBSD.
