Apparently El Naranja tóxica has decided that movies made outside of the US are somehow leading to the death of the US film industry, which is a "concerted effort" by those nations and, I must stress that I am not making this up, is therefore a national security threat.
So he wants to put a 100% tarrif on foreign produced movies.

Well, there's about 10,000 cults out there cosplaying as evangelical churches. The RDF in places like that would make Steve jealous.
There was more to Jobs than the RDF though. Apple was better when he was there. I mean really, what new thing have they really come up that's been successful? AirPods?

I wish there was a way to impress on younger people that (a) there’s nothing inherently wrong with the music they like, while at the same time, (b) the music industry, especially since the dawn of streaming, is optimized for selling the most banal product for the highest price and not for creating lasting art.

A BBC BASIC to Commodore BASIC v2 transpiler.
You write your program in a text file using BBC BASIC syntax (including no line numbers), and then "compile" it to a BASIC program that runs on a C64.

Just finished watching The Acolyte, or as I like to call it, Law and Order: Coruscant.
The visuals were amazing, some of the fight scenes were amazing. But plot-wise, it was a huge mess.
I wish Disney did better on this one, the actors deserved better, honestly. And it’s sad too, because it ends more or less on a cliffhanger, and there will be no resolution.
I’m kind of tired of the “The Jedi are bad, actually”, takes too. It’s actually ok for someone to be good without having a secret bad side.
Overall, I really think Paramount does better with Star Trek than Disney has ever done with Star Wars.

That’s pretty awful, but I’ve seen it so many times now. Back when J2EE was the new hotness, there were a bunch of engineers who had to use every damn feature of it, no matter how stupid the result was.
And there’s no damn reason to write a micro service in Rust, especially when python and JS are already there.

CDE was a breath of fresh air back when I was stuck on Windows NT in 1995 or so.
At that point, I was just using Windows for email and connecting via X to HP-UX 10.
It was… heavenly.
