Yeah. I wasnt trying to push the idea of what browser is the best for that.
...but I do think Brave is worth some scrutiny even if they claim to support privacy. Many people suggest against Brave for good reason

Ill admit, I wont touch the @npub1t4g…ml9t browser (very problematic people behind it and I dont like crypto - Full info/backing: https://blog.alexseifert.com/2025/04/06/why-i-recommend-against-brave/ )
I havent run into issues with @npub19rt…adh9 yet, save for two websites that had display issues. I am currently trying Waterfox instead of Chromium. Using Librewolf to replace Firefox, since Mozilla started pulling shenanigans a couple years back.

One challenge for my VoxeLibre wiki project -- isometrics.
I want to get good sized images of each VoxeLibre block/item in its isometric form. These isometric block images would be used for that block's individal wiki page, as well as for displaying that block in crafting recipes.
I did see this Luanti mod but it doesnt work correctly (for me), nor does it export an image bigger than 32 pixel .

Okay. thats good to know. So what kind of paint does one use for plastic. I want something that doesnt crack and obviously something durable.
The piece in question would be out in the wild so Im hoping I can find something durable to the elements (indoor clubs, crowds, etc..)

In my case, the thing I am printing would not need to be glued to anything else. It just seems that the sanding part may be related to "priming the surface"? Not sure which grit I need to use in that case.
When I vapor bathe something printed in ABS, it helps with a glossy smooth surface, free from the printing artifacts. So, I question if I can print the item I want, than do the vaporbath ...and then hopefully be able to paint after that.

Might be making something (in the future), and there is the matter of painting plastic, likely by brush application. Does anyone recommend some good paint to buy for painting things printed in ABS plastic?
Also, I tend to vapor bathe things I print. Ofteb, I like the smooth finish/coat on what Im about to make. I have also heard of people having to sand the surface of something they printed, before painting. Love to get any advice in this area as to how I can approach it.

I would also say that there is a decent amount of things that discourage prople from having a clothes drying line
One person mentioned HOAs, which definirely doscourage the practice. Also, not all of us live in a place where there is a suitable place to hang it. Def would argue that some generations are likely disinclined amd disincentivized from hang drying our things.

Trying to see if I can find another XMPP mobile client that works on Android phones.
One group of friends is exploring the XMPP route. We are looking to habe a place to land for all the peeps in our group who are leaving Discord at the end of the month.
I have had Dino client working well on Desktop. Im just not happy with mobile offerings for XMPP/Jabber

see...this is wjat I can only state assumptions on. My thought is that search (search engines) have been enshittified so much over the last 10+ years. So, lots of platforms (that are viable/good quality) dont get the same discoverability (that they could have had in an earlier time period)

Yeah...this is the part I hate. Everyone who wants to try and sell thier hand made goods is reliant on Etsy. :-/ People cant afford to try anything else and...even if they want to, the alternatives are shit, too
Its no wonder that Etsy can just continue to enshittify.

In the early days, Etsy was really pushing the idea of community. There were some social features where people could meet others in thier craft. Dont rememeber much beyond that.
People say that they use Etsy to be found. Essentially it is "where the people are", which is why I imagine that people stay with it, no matter how shitty Etsy might get. Are there any other sites like Etsy, which allow people to sell DIY/hand-made goods, with the same "where the people are" vibe? I can gather that my friend will continue having his domain as a LinkTree like site, and then have his "store" link go to Etsy.

Ethics question: What do you do when you are getting crowdfund/mutual aid requests in your replies?
Im not talking about finding such posts in my timeline, or seeing such things boosted from someone I follow in my timeline. Im talking about getting a mention from an acct you have no mutuals or previous interaction with.
Some of these posts I have received in my mention *are* related to the crisis happening in Gaza right now. So, Im a bit nervous about taking any negative action to the account.

For the most part, I have just ignored these posts. Sometimes they get taken down within an hour or two and that kind of tells me that maybe they were fraudulent? And yes, many of them usually come from mastodon.social which is open registration.
Additionally, I know there is some sort of controversy regarding things like @npub1d6t…vdlg ... I dont wish to add to that. (Like, I have seen people do things that end up causing more problem for the people in Gaza who are genuinely asking for help...all because many of us are suspicious of all the crap going on in the world)

I know that I could not broach the subject past a particular point. When the potential ActivityPub user reacts with "Its too complicated" and shuts the conversation down, there isnt much room to explain the Fedi any further because, the other person has pretty much made up thier mind.
Besides, if I persist and try and do further explanation, I pretty much meet the pre-requisites for people to ignore me. They want Bluesky and thats all that matters to them.

I have privacy based reasons to not get a Real ID (people can call me paranoid all they want). However, I noticed that my experience trying to get a passport (brand new one, never gotten a passport before) was far easier than my attempt to humor getting a California Real ID based Drivers Liscense.
...and I say this as one of those people who has fallen between the cracks in bureaucracy before.

Big agree. The people who train and supervise customer service agents need to bring thier practices up to date
Everyday, when a phone rings or an email comes in, end-users have to keep diligent about who they talk to and give info to. Its a battle akin to "spy vs spy". I think I share the sentinent of many others when I say:
"Its now that much harder for legitimate contacts/communicationers to get my attention bc I have to manage my attention, second guess/double check every communication, avoid eagerness, and have my walls up."

I think that the specific ActivityPub software is not the problem
Mastodon, Lemmy, Misskey,.... none of these matter when it comes to the hostility, anti-blackness, and mistreatment of marginalized voices. In fact, the idea that the AP specific software will make a difference re: the racism and privileged jerks...it's very similar to the idea the privileged folks will make to marginalized people: "...just choose another instance", "You need to use the tools"
Notice in these arguments how it puts the onus back onto the marginalized voice. Telling marginalized voices to choose another instsnce or that maybe they should try this or that...it makes no attempt to address the core issue of racism and privileged bullshit in the Fddiverse.

Yeah. I tried to bring this to the attention of the clinic here to see of I should get those child hood vaccines (I was worried aboit the increase of measles cases and polio, so this had me asking)
I got as far as the titers test being done l, where they confirmed that I didn't have any immunity on any of it. But then I didn't go father bc I needed 700+ dollars (and didn't have a job at that time)
...
Years and years later, I am now on Kaiser ins. I had to start the ask all over again but my PCP didn't make any motion towards addressing it. Seems it has been a "no big deal' type attitude towards it from various people along the way

Can anyone tell me if the MMR vaccine (that we receive as a baby) has a duration of effectiveness? As in, is there an age where one should be getting boosts or re-vaccinations? (for things like polio, Mumps, Hep, Diptheria, etc...)
