That only works for apps that support this NIP, which is probably limited to Nostr clients.
Lightning wallets have a much broader use case.

I think people see the potential, but are also worried about vendor lock-in.
Imagine every app having its own wallet 'because powerful features". It would be a mess.

Glad to see him make the switch. Hope other SSB devs do the same.
I did like that SSB can work P2P over bluetooth etc. when the Internet is gone. But I'm sure someone will come up with a P2P mode NIP for Nostr sooner or later.

As for sending DM's:
When replying, reply with the type that you received.
When sending a brand new DM, default to a global setting. Long press to switch on the fly.

Please don't add more tabs. I think the two current ones are already confusing 😬
Ideally all DM's are in 1 single list. They can be differentiated using small icons or symbols.
There can be an optional filter/sort button/dropdown/whatever for those who need it.

This would introduce a single point of failure. Controlled by the app creator. Kind of what we try to get away from.
That said, I wouldn't mind have it preloaded as a preferred channel. As long as their are configurable alternatives.

Max. 3 overlapping images. If there's more you tap the images to see the entire list, which can be displayed like a regular Iist of notes.
You could even merge other replies back into that list of likes for a complete chronological view of all responses.
