same reason I didn't sell. All these hours spent reading reasearch were for nothing. Sure BTC's price in USD and liquidity might be correlated but you never one which one will lead the other. This time around, it looks like BTC was the smoke alarm. MSTR performing poorly against it was a warning sign. Will it keep on giving signal toward the next top ?

I agree. But have you seen the latest price action? Where I still have some doubts is around the software. We're only a few months away from the Cubic attack. The network has survived but how resistant is it without pow? Regarding useage, it is being used. That's why I'm bullish personnally. I met with some of the community last summer, a lot of former bitcoiners who despise btc now for the institutionnal adoption and the departure from the original ethos. Regarding tokenomics, I understand Monero is inflationary in order to pay the miners but it's a low inflation number. From that standpoint btc definitely has the advantage, as well as the network effect. But I expect privacy to become more and more important and valued. We still need wider adoption, for both BTC and Monero imho.

Shouldn't the fact that this market exists alert us though? I learned at BTC++ in Riga that the ability of the NSA to analyse data far outweighs our capacity to produce it. I agree with you today, but although we're talking in absoluts, we are really thinking about the futur. When @nprofile…ac3v mentionned the window of opportunity closing on bitcoin regarding privacy I understand it was meant both in terms of the law protecting our rights and solutions deployed at the protocol level. If today a market exists for so called kyc bitcoin, what about tomorrow? The way I see it is we are left with the option to vote with our feet and move to jurisdictions where such markets have no influence on our holdings.

You can verify tohe history of any utxo. That's how it's done. And before calling anyone names, be open and try and understand others' perspective. I had a umiversity professor, much more knowladgeable tgan you and I, OG bitcoiner, whom I met at MoneroKonf in Prague this year, expain that Nitcoin is non-fungible. Yes, onchain, nothing n stop you but gvt whether you like it or not can make you a criminal from your transactions. His argument was tge existence of kyced versus non-kyced bitcoin with two different market prices. I don't owmn any Monero but I'm receptive to the argument. There is no privacy onchain in Bitcoin, only anonymity. Privacy if anything comes from the cost of figuring out who's who and who owns what.

Yes. Anyone wanting to mine to their own pool using their own node with #DatumGateway have to be running #Knots. I'm not one for censorship and I think the non-fungibility of BTC is being overlooked by many so I'm thinking of running another node with core installed so I can keep playing with Bitaxe-like miners and still support uncensorable bitcoin.

Are they well capitalised though. Brought this up with Jack Mallers at BTC Prague. Companies with enough capital will be fine in a downturn but the smaller ones who are overleveraged might become forced sellers and add to downward pressure. Had the priviledge to join the crowd at @nprofile…py4c The highlight of that for me was talking to @nprofile…8sjr for a few minutes who confirmed what I thought regarding treasury BTC companies. 21 or Strategy are well capitalised and robust but other smaller companies might not be. The next bearmarket could well involve forced liquidations. Jack's presentation was awesome, very personnal and a great summary of the impasse the Fiat regimes find themselves into now. 1971, the year the US left the gold standard started a wave of suicides amongst the young, criminality, impoverishment of the middle class and general debasement which continues to this day. But beyond Bitcoin, what I loved even more was joining the crowd at MoneroKonf, @nprofile…5ufe @nprofile…6fdd where the vibe was true Cypherpunk, one imagines similar to that of early Bitcoin conferences. There I met a very diverse crowd from all walks of life all driven to further the advancement of privacy and anonymity. Many bitcoiners were there as well as a university professor completely uninterested in Bitcoin for he views it as non-fungible, a take I found interesting when newly minted tokens fetch a premium on OTC markets. I have much to learn from this diverse crowd, Monero adopters and bitcoiners but already knowing there are solutions to the CBDC hellhole central governments will force down our throat is a huge source of optimism. Hey. So yes, trails form as a result of temperature and humidity conditions at high altitude. The ground temperature is completely irrelevant to the formation of ice crystals closer to the stratosphere. I spend a lot of time up there so feel free to ask me. I've seen it all to be honest. Sometimes airplanes leave big contrails, sometimes nothing at all. And up at 38,000/40,000 ft where airliners cruise it's always cold, from -20 to -70 °C roughly. The hot air coming out of thee engine transforms straight into ice crystals or not.

Just finished watching #CitizenFour and #TerminalF, two great documentaries on @npub1sn0…jdv9 and his revelation of government overreach as I close the last page of his wonderful "Permanent Record". A phrase comes to mind, Churchil's: " Never in the history of mankind have so many owed so much to so few". Churchil coined it in reference to the fighter pilots who fought on board their Spitfires and Tampests to deliver europe. It's fitting towards the few whistleblowers who have brought the excesses of government to broad daylight. I certainly feel, as a normie recently onboarded to bitcoin that we're all part on #NOSTR of this fight for freedom and for the essence of what it is to be human.

How do you explain XMR performing so poorly against BTC since february 2018? When Satoshi stopped communicating, he said he was leaving for some other project. Does anyone know which one? I haven't read much about this.
