This little cutie was my youngest son's dog #Monkey Don't let that sweet face fool you. Immediately after I took the pic she jumped off the rock, grabbed a stem from the yucca plant behind her, looked at me and knowing I don't want her in the prickly plants and cactus past the river rock she plotted her next move - which was to run to my left like a bat out of hell through the doggy door into the house, around the sofa then under a bed.

She took to sleeping with me at night and gave me a lot of comfort.
Last night I was waiting for an Amazon order and when the doorbell rang I was in a spare room. I started to turn the corner and for a second I looked for her. It happens. We don't ever forget them. I shook it off quickly.

When he took off that day for parts unknown he tried to sneak Sierra out of here. That didn't last long. He didn't get more than a few miles down the road and her car sickness set in and he had to bring her back.

Once I made it clear I wasn't going to put up with it any longer the abuser left. It's been about 2 years now. When he left he took something from me that wasn't his to take. A little crocheted dog that I made to resemble my dog Sierra who passed away within days after I joined the whale site.

Most are you probably saw me talk on the whale site at times about the emotional abuse that I went through for many years. Back then I became a shell of myself. It took a lot of hard work, determination and getting downright angry to pull myself out of it. That anger wasn't only directed at him. It was also directed at myself for letting him put me in the state that I was in

I don't think my parents ever did any of those things. Heck when we were four or five years old we went to the lake and fished by ourselves. Ran up and down rocks in the nearby river and all kinds of things that could have gotten us in a real mess. Some how, some way we survived it all

The minute I found out I was going to be a grandmother the first time the pool in my backyard was removed and I put plug protectors and every outlet, locks on some lower cabinets and a brace for the large television so I didn't have to worry about that either. When he was at an age where he was walking in his face and mouth were right at the height of two glass table tops in the house foam bumpers were put around them. That child was not going to get hurt under my watch

Sadly this has happened several times this summer here in the valley 😖😔
Drone video on tv showed there is a pool fence around the pool. There's no word yet on how he managed to wind up in the pool.

That was one part of it that I really enjoyed while I was there. Learning about their culture. Oddly the culture shock was worse when I came home after 2 years. No more nightly curfews, no more ration control, no more bartering in stores. It took of it to get used to again

I could but won't write a book about all my experiences in South Korea. I was 24 years old when I went there. I immediately snagged a civil service job as a secretary for a general, was handed an enormous amount of responsibility and had no freaking clue what I was doing at first. It was a good experience and I grew up fast. In the end I was given a Secretary of the Year award for that dept at a banquet. Makes me laugh as I was the only secretary they had that year 😂

With a typhoon warning in the Yellow Sea predictions of a direct hit meant staying in the rickety house in downtown Kunsan South Korea was not a safe option. She hailed a taxi to the Air Force base. Once there she had to run through a flooded grassy area scattered with large trees that she stopped and braced herself behind as each strong gust of wind and driving rain hit her. I'm almost finished with the crochetted pot pillow. Am at the point of stiching the two layers together. Brought it along with me and have to sneak in time to work on it as it is a bday gift for one of the kids.
Meanwhile, after some amusing moments somebunny did finally come across the sweet potato stuffy and it's safe and sound on his work desk.

I do the same when I'm crocheting some things. Some of them need the stitches to be really tight. That's why I bought ergonomic crochet hooks. They definitely help

This one is, only cuz it's something that I've done quite a lot and it's small and knowing where to decrease and increase helps. There can be a lot of head scratching and math sometimes.
Going to fill most of it with some little plastic pellets so it can stand up on its own. Down to the bottom of it now and need to stop and do it's mouth before closing it up. And stop laughing while I'm doing it 😂

I wrote moose meat on packages in my freezer I didn't want the boys to touch when they were teens. I knew they wouldn't eat it because they always said they wouldn't eat Bullwinkle and a couple of times I did have moose meat in the freezer for realz. 🤣

If a point comes that I feel it's necessary I will. Coricidin is keeping it loose and productive. No fever. I did take a Covid test this morning and it's negative. When I first started feeling crappy I thought maybe I was getting a sinus infection but that's gotten a whole lot better. I just need to get rid of this cough and I'm doing everything I should be
