@nprofile…hved Reading with a critical eye, supplementing with other sources of information — absolutely. ProPublica, for example. The Guardian. The NYT (and most of the US press) notoriously failed to report on the Holocaust during WWII. (See the book “Beyond Belief”). But depending on the byline and the topic, you get more kinds and amounts of reliable info from the NYT than the alternatives. Most of the more compatible news sources (like MSNBC) use MSM and just add their own spin.
