There is no official public law, central-bank decree, or regulatory ban on cryptocurrency or Monero in North Korea. However, for ordinary citizens, crypto ownership or use is de facto completely illegal and extremely dangerous (punishable under the regime’s total control over foreign currency, internet access, and capital). The North Korean f***g state, on the other hand, actively uses cryptocurrencies including Monero🙃

wow, I was only joking when I mentioned a Nostr “shadowban” )): after getting banned on twitter, everyone kept telling me Nostr was this beautiful heaven and savior for “dangerous” people like me (lol)… so I jumped in with real hope. Hearing that shadowbans can happen here too is honestly such a disappointment…
On the client side: I don’t use any! I really dislike installing apps in general, so I do everything 'social' through the Tor browser: if something doesn’t work in Tor, it basically doesn’t exist for Aillia :) and I’ve tried pretty much every browser-friendly nostr client out there, so it’s def not client-specific. Thanks weev, it’s sad but really revealing. (and situational awareness is a good thing). Btw, if it’s not client-specific, is it possible on the relay level?

When I'm not sure what to read, I read a book that has been banned by some government(s) (like the ones listed here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_books_banned_by_governments or similar).
But digital / online books can easily be altered (I actually caught *at least* one instance and wrote about it here: aillia.substack.com/p/tolstoys-quote-censored-from-translation).
So paper books matter: once printed, they're an immutable, uncensorable ledger!

I know I’m often seen as some Monero shill, but I’m not even really a 'crypto' person per se (unless by 'crypto' you mean cryptography :)). I find most of today’s 'crypto'… not my thing at all, outside of the OG ideas about escaping state control and separating money from the state. So, all you esteemed crypto projects, please don’t waste your precious, limited time in my DMs or under my posts as long as you’re trying to sit in two chairs with one butt, it’s not even about 'better tech.'
