P.S. I love my mom, she showed me great books, great music, great movies, she is amazing, her style, her potential is great, but some things was also not so perfect and what had to be done, had to be done (my detachment).

Why grief? Your mom may live nearby but what real detachment can do is that she's no longer your mom in some sense. The definition for you can change. She can be woman who raise you (caring, but not perfect) or maybe more of a friend, but you just "lost" your mom. The picture of her as a perfect, good mom, vision of her that she's there for you etc. all delusional aspects, still - unfortunately-things you are carrying from childhood are constantly changing, transforming.
But we have WiFi now. Internet and many meet ups in real life. Whether people know it or not, these beautiful woman showing us their world can fill the gap. Just by watching them, listening to them. They're like a cool aunties or even second mothers, resembling them in the way they speak or gesticulate, but it's all a little bit more free from attachments.
So it can be easier nowadays.
And for mothers too it's easier. Moms today can "adopt" as many daughters and sons online, these young girls who clearly need guidance or just seeking support or attention, nice words of appreciation under some smiley photos posted on Instagram. You can let your own children grow, let them go.

Today the void is easier to patch.

Seeing your parent as separate human being is the most difficult task anyone can do, especially children from abusive families where these relationships are much more complicated.
It's amazing to me how many people would not only support but defend their abusive parent. But I was the same.
It can be all wrapped up as loyalty.
We want to be good people and in fact most people are, you are the good kids: your parents raised you and you have decent amount of gratefulness.
When one person start to see their parents in more neutral way, more detached way, seeing parents almost as a strangers- it almost feels like betrayal. As if we're owning them something for the rest of their life.
It's not true.
At some point you can go freely, contact your parents less, not inform them about everything etc.
But when it comes to the perception shift in the way one see their parent: it's huge challenge.
You can be around them and when your feelings start to change and you start to see them as separate, different than you adult with their own dreams, hopes, knowing them very well and feel and seeing them in different way - that it's almost as betrayal or as if someone done something wrong.
But you're doing great. This is actually very great and courageous.
Suddenly you can feel or you're capable to articulate: "This was a woman/man who raised me". The sentence that can feel awkward for some, and revolutionary for others. And I can imagine for other almost offensive: "No, it wasn't JUST woman, she was my mom."
OK, ok, I get it, really. I understand it to the core.
I know few people like that. I know myself. I remember myself- I was the same.
During my own therapy one of the most repeated "topic" was my mom.
"I can't leave her" I repeated and I hadn't been in house for years! I moved out after high school straight up to uni. But in my head? It took years to detached.
It can mean you would feel tremendously alone.
Or again: as some form of betrayal - at least that's how I felt.
The emotional roller coaster is out of this world.
It's difficult.
We have strong bonds that can't just simply be described or even explained. It's really energetic cord, we are "made" of our mothers, they carried us, gave us life. It's not that easy to break the cord abd stand nearby. Close, but nearby, separate, detached-it's really a process.
It feels as if you would cut your own part off.
I mean it can feel as if you would die but nothing happens.
What's fascinating is that in the moment of even trying to cut the cord, your mom can suddenly call you up, show up, suddenly be closer.
Moms feels it. It's that strong. Mom's intuition is very strong.
But because it's strong it doesn't mean it's good.
It can be very damaging relationship.
And even when the relationship with your mom wasn't good, it still difficult. She loves you and have done everything she could to raise you.
Most people from not-so- healthy- families don't want to even try. Further more - they will defend their parents as if they protect their lives.
You can assess yourself. But be honest, don't lie to yourself.
Ok, little confession here:
During my therapy my therapist had been seeing my attachment, and often asked me if I'm sure that my mom was so "innocent" (as if free from guilt) and I couldn't answer, I couldn't see otherwise.
You see, we as a humans we really have difficult time to see the truth. It can hurt as hell.
And later on I even started to blame my therapist for even suggesting it. But then I thought: no, she is good therapist, she had more than 22 years of experience, she met more people like me and even worse (I'm sorry :)) I mean real addicts, I've never been addicted) so for sure she see something I can't see...
She saw it. Straight up.

Detachment is hell of the work.
But it can be easier today.

HOW IT CAN BE EASIER?
The thing is we live in times where the gap, the entire hole caused by removing the cord can be easier to fill in, easier than ever before. The grief can be easier to stopped while living in more open society, where travelling is easier, where we have many great older woman on social media.

When I saw an artist who is too pretty and everything is so clean, you know influencer type one I thought something is wrong... and then I made quick inventory of my mind, because I'm curious... am I just jealous? Really?
But then I dig a bit more into myself because I really wanted to know, what was it... so I found out this:
To be an artist (in my mind at least) is to be messy...
And I thought, yeah that's it, maybe it's only mine, maybe it's collective sort of stereotype but I noticed how this influenced my mind to the degree that I started being suspected of the woman, who, by the way, can be and is great artist...
And my point is -
How many of this inprinted thoughts we are carrying everyday?
Thousands I guess...
To be a good mom-tired
To be great person- suffer.
Etc.
Etc.
(Not true but you know what I mean...)
P.S. I do recommend that type of inner inventory which is basically being 100% honest with yourself which is not easy, and yes sometimes I'm simply just jealous because I have not-so-great mammalian brain so I can't help it
but at least I am aware of it... (it still doesn't help but yeah...)

-We need better ledger-
Since of the beginning of times bookeeping were used simply to keep track of your ownings. How many stocks You have for example. How many pair of shoes have been sold etc. Simple adding the numbers. When more complex societies arised and more barter and more complex trade occured it became necesseraly to remember who owns whom and how much. To generate wealth money always needed to be in circulation.
It’s not actually money, but the flow of your stocks/products/services in a circulation that was flowing around could generate something in return – wealth.
But without ledger that would not be possible.
Without ledger everyone would made up their own prices and setting their own system of meassurement (for gold or commodities for example) but that would means no society at all…
Agreement on a common system was the foundation of cooperation, and we as humanity were able to achieved this consensus on money.
Money is closely related and almost synonymous to the ledgers.
Only through proper way of bookeeping we could have developed that tool we called money.
You can use seashels, cows, rolex watches or paper banknotes- it doesn’t matter that much. What matters is the fact if the way of describing and record keeping reflects reality and accurate state of events.
Ledgers are very important as they show us reality.
The tool we’ve had so far was far from perfect tho.
It was easy to write down whatever you want. People didn’t trust ledgers anymore, nor the people who were creating them. Sometimes people haven’t even check them and banks wasn’t especially open about it.
For example: deposits that people wanted to held in a vaults wasn’t there, only around 10% was held, the rest of it was lent out further? Bank ledger kept information that 100% was there.
It wasn’t. Banks lent out 90% to the other banks, process repeats and extra 90% of artificial flow of money that devalued the original deposits were created
Banks could say that X amount of money is in the place A where in fact
X is in the A in 10%
but 90% of it are in the B at the same time.
It wasn’t something that reflects basic truth that the same amount of money can’t be in two places at the same time.
Not in our 3rd dimension at least.
With honest ledger that possibility would not exist.
No one would make that fancy bookeeping process legal or justify this kind of misleading bookkeeping.
Banks were giving away money that wasn’t theirs, that was trusted to be kept safely in the case of hard times.
It’s not that bankers wasn’t clear about the practice. It was possible to write different numbers on the ledgers that not reflects reality as it is. Ledger allowed that, it was too easy to not cheat the system.
Something needed to be improved.
As it happened in the past, we improved ourselves by improving our tools.
Old system based on the writing in the columns who owns what and when – even digitally – needed to evolve. The new way needed to emerge and it happened – during the banking crisis by the way- that new system were invented.
New tool, new way of keeping track, new ledger.
Bitcoin
Every transactions is written as it really happens, reflecting reality and precise actions, system that is programmed to keep data forever on the ledger and once settled on the Blockchain remains immutable, mathematically programmed to never reverse.
But Bitcoin is not only a Blockchain. For digital money that wouldn’t be enough.
That would be enough for signing contracts and as long as money are contracts between people, agreements on prices and promise of delivery what is in the contracts, Bitcoin needed something more. And
that thing was security.
How to make sure that promise titled „X amount of money will be kept safely in a vault as long as I wish” will be really protected and delivered?
And more importantly – how you can make sure it’s truth?
The power of that kind of ledger is in a network. First time in history money can be propagated through network where nodes are responsible for checking them, validating them and making copy of actual reality based on a true events.
It’s not in the hand of centrally controlled entity anymore. First time in history you can too have an access to that database. Even more – by creating a node you are making Bitcoin – money based on truth – more secure for yourself and for others.
It’s not banks that are responsible for security anymore. I’m not going to give away my money to any vault in any banks digitially or remotely even if its in Switzerland.
First time in history I have this opportunnity to self-custody and I’d say its great responsobility for all of us to take care of the money.
Decentralized network and database on blockchain creates one of a kind ledger for XXI century – Bitcoin,
perfect way of writing the truth.

About alkohol and excuses: I've seen kids in the UK who said they ancestors came from Eastern Europe (Poland) therefore they drink alkohol bc it's in their "blood".

I'm finally getting into #Bitchat.
Imagine you are going to some kind of protest, it can be anything.
You want to communicate and get to know people around you, but without gov. spying on you and any cloud to store your information, such as who connects with whom, where, what they talk about etc. so the government would censor them later or just send them advert for Christmas...
You prefer to chat anonymously.
Or just like in Iran few days ago, the gov.cut of Internet and Starlink is not there yet. But you want to communicate on the large gathering anyway...
what's the options?

The one barrier when it comes to #Nostr for normies is, I would say, that Nostr is still content pot.
It's all in one and people get used to categories such as:
X - short text
Insta - pics, photography
Medium, Substack - longform
LinkedIn - (hm... 🧐)

So it's -12 at where I am now
- with these temperatures ice baths are not necessary.
So the plan is simple:
5-10 minutes outside with no jacket on and then warm bath.
