that's fair. I think utility classes for common properties are quite useful, but tailwind takes it to a ridiculous level. At the point where I'm applying 20 classes to an HTML tag and making them HTML unreadable, coming up with a variable name (CSS class) is probably the cleaner solution

as someone who knows CSS well I get annoyed by tailwind cause it regularly hurts more than it helps and it clutters the fucking DOM like nothing else I've ever seen.
unfortunately I need at least one project on my github where its a major player because so many companies want it.

All over the codebase are functions with the word `maybe` in the signature. Here is one called `maybeRefreshOverageCreditCache` in which the idiot clanker attempts to refresh how many credits the user have. In a comment above it, we see why this pattern is so common: "Safe to call unconditionally on mount"
The system is so complex with so many race conditions that they just have to hope the data is there and if it isn't try again until it is. Lol.
`maybeMarkProjectOnboardingComplete` in which the LLM attempts to update a boolean value. Simple right? Well...because all of the file IO is nondeterministic, it has to use a try/catch. If it fails, it just calls `maybeMarkProjectOnboardingComplete` the next time a user interacts with the cli.

Reading source code for the `/doctor` command. Excuse me what the fuck is this shit. I think the LLM had a fucking stroke.
This is very, very common throughout the code btw. This is not code you can understand. This is slop. This is incomprehensible code in the section of the code base that's supposed to be about verifying your installation. How does anyone know its working?

There's a type for logging called `AnalyticsMetadata_I_VERIFIED_THIS_IS_NOT_CODE_OR_FILEPATHS` that presumably is prompting the LLM coding agent as it writes code. Its used everywhere as a string type for logging, with no extra validation that the string doesn't contain filepaths or code.

This is the simplest tool in the repo, a simple LLM sleep function. Somehow this thing will consume tokens even when its not fucking doing anything???
Like look at this shit: "Each wake-up costs an API call, but the prompt cache expires after 5 minutes of inactivity — balance accordingly."
That's not a function you idiots, that's an LLM instruction. Sleeping, the simplest fucking thing in the world, takes active processing power for Claude Code. Galaxy brain levels of stupid.

Claude Code leaked, you know what that means. Time to break down the worst typescript I've ever seen.
First off this isn't code, its advanced begging. The most common design pattern I can find is just `recurseUntilSuccess` which is more of a prayer than an efficient architecture.
Shit like this is hard fucking coded into the prompts. Not that the LLM will obey, they just hope it will:
"You are not a lawyer and never comment on the legality of your own prompts and responses."
"In the Sources section, list all relevant URLs from the search results as markdown hyperlinks: [Title](URL). This is MANDATORY - never skip including sources in your response"

they are indeed tricky. I think the thing I'm struggling most with is the whole masc/fem thing. It agrees with the object not the subject. 'elle' and 'il' can mean 'he/she' or 'it'. I find it very confusing

the textbook I'm using is quite good for this, it presents french text first along with an audio file of french speakers, and only then do you get to see the translation and notes. I'm writing down vocab as I go so I can understand it better.
Canada also has a great app called mauril.ca where you can watch level-appropriate government content like radio broadcasts and old documentaries. I'm planning to do that but I was finding the learning curve too steep so I went for a beginner textbook first.

being bilingual in french/english is basically a golden ticket for permanent residence. If you can take a test to prove competency/fluency for both languages it essentially puts you at the front of the line.
I'm sure I'll be able to take you up on the offer at some point but I'm still very much learning basic vocab. I can't really form my own sentences properly yet. It has only been about a month and a half of practice, though

Never trust a fucking corpo. You'd think I would have known but here I am. Fucking fired 4 months into a 2 year work visa. You have any idea how fucking precarious a position that puts me and my wife in?
We have to find a new company to sponsor us and spend a bunch of money on a lawyer and the economy is absolutely fucked.
We spent all our savings escaping the pig empire and if we can't stay I'll have to use my entire retirement savings to get back to the US.
We don't qualify for perm residence yet because we'd need a year of work experience here. Even if they waited like 8 months to fire us we'd be in a much better situation.
So I have two options: become fluent in French in less than a year, or find a company willing to sponsor our visas. We've been applying to tons of remote work for my wife and she's pretty far in the process with one place. If this falls through though I'll probably have to start looking for myself as well. I'm not yet because this immigration stuff plus learning French plus life admin has me at my limit.
Very few people are hiring for remote work anymore and so I'll likely have to work in an office again if it comes to that and I'm utterly dreading it. I cannot work in an office again. My mental health is already so fucking bad
It's so fucked.
I'm so tired.
I just want a stable life is that too much to ask?

Since I get asked like every other month, here is how to pirate shit in 2025:
(1) Get a VPN (this is a hard requirement). Preferably one that doesn't store data and is not based in the country you reside. I use [Mullvad VPN](https://mullvad.net/en) (not an ad, I just like them). Connect to the VPN before you proceed and any time you are pirating media.
(2) Download and install [qBittorrent](https://www.qbittorrent.org/). take a moment to go over the settings.
(3) Use a torrent indexer to find the media you want. I use [1337x.to](https://1337x.to/) currently. Make sure you have [ublock](https://ublockorigin.com/) cause the site has annoying ads. Other good search engines include [the pirate bay](https://thepiratebay.org) and [YIFY Movies](https://yts.mx/). Usually one of these will have what you're looking for. For porn you really can't beat [pornolab](https://pornolab.net/forum/index.php) though make sure to pay close attention to seed ratio (how much you download divided by how much you upload for others).
(4) Search using the full name of the media you're looking for along with release year. Optionally include a resolution. For single episodes, the standard format is "SXEXX". If searching for a season of a tv show include "Season x" or "SXX". If looking for a whole show, include "complete". For music, include the artist name and optionally the format.
Here are some example searches: "The Legend of Korra 2012 1080p season 3", "Deadpool & Wolverine 2024 720p", "Parks and Recreation 2009 S01", "House of the Dragon S01E02 1080p", "The Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd 1973 flac"
(5) Once on the page for the piece of media you want, either click the magnet link or download the torrent file (a torrent file is just a text file containing the magnet link). This should open qBittorrent and download the media to a specified location.
