in general yes, not sure about having a default though. potentially a wrapper around the existing cashu-ts api that adds storage functionality while keeping the core functions the same and accessible
my experience has been that proof management is the most bug prone aspect of a wallet... storing duplicate proofs, deleting proofs before a melt is confirmed, keeping spent proofs, not getting the change, etc.
also managing things like unpaid mint quotes is cumbersome

Yes. It took a while to find all the edge cases where tokens may be lost.
It would be nice if cashu-ts had some sort of built in proof storage interface with options like browser storage or sql. With this a dev could simply initialize a wallet and call send/receive without having to worry about proofs at all.

We ran in a some circles on this one, but ultimately ended up with a more robust wallet and a solid foundation for some exciting new features.
- Improved token management: we moved all token storage logic into a single location
- less token state checking to stop spamming mints
- Initialize all added keysets on load
- various bug fixes
Also, we removed NWC and lightning address because they do not work very well with the current limitations. Bigger and better solutions on the horizon 🫡
Note: existing wallet connections will still work until a later release

Chaincode Labs (https://chaincode.com) is legendary for all of the free education they provide.
I recently started their Rust for Bitcoiners class, and have since implemented a simple Caesar Cipher, attempted to implement SHA-512, and just finished my homework for using the bitcoincore_rpc create to build a simple CLI app.
Looking back on my journey learning to code, I wish I would have had more bitcoin related projects to keep me motivated and excited, instead I just built things like tic-tac-toe and static websites as I tried to learn JavaScript

Cashu mint issues a bolt12 offer to cashu wallet.
Paying the offer is effectively paying the wallet.
Lightning to ecash: Alice pays 100 sats to Bob’s offer. Bob receives 100 esats from his mint.
Bob (cashu wallet) can give out the offer just as a lightning node would, but he never touches the LN, just ecash. Whenever Alice pays Bob’s offer, it appears like a normal lightning transaction.

1. Add a new active keyset with unit ‘usd’
2. Convert amount in mint quote request to sats based on current exchange rate, then create invoice for that sat amount.
3. Convert sat from invoice to usd in melt quote request and return usd amount needed to pay the invoice.

Hard fork is a reduction of rules and soft fork is an expansion of rules.
The goal is to have transactions that used to be valid to always be valid. Its bad when you are forced to upgrade or else be cut off from the network. A soft fork makes a consensus change but instead adds to the list of whats considered a “valid” transaction.

Are you trying to make a connection from mutiny to Amethyst? You’ll need an nwc uri for that. Somewhere under wallet connections in mutiny you can create a new one. Copy that into amethyst.
And then Bam! You’re sending payment requests to your mutiny wallet over nostr!!!!

2. Click on profile pics to see the error.
3. Include a comment to send to everyone in the prism along with your zap (nice for zapvertising).

Anyone curious how a note could be a prism? You should check out NIP 57 - Appendix G. NIP 57 is where all the specs for zaps live.
Appendix G specifies that a note can have many 'zap' tags each with a *pubkey* and *relative split*. Clients that support this will calculate the receiving address of each pubkey, and how much to send based on the percentage of their split relative to the total being zapped.
Under the hood, the client is individually zapping each recipient.
Go to any prism created by @npub1arc…ggtw and inspect the raw event detail to see what I mean. You'll hopefully see something like this:
