The anti-war hippy bitcoiners would send us back to the stone age in hatred of metal buildings because the same metallurgy enables mechanized war. Alas, only in war is their low time preference. In mining there is no technology investment. 99.99% have no interest. I might have recently met the one exception, but it certainly would be an anomaly. Everyone just wants the tech from 3 decades ago so they can start today.

Yep! I was able to start biking 6 months after surgery and the first few months were tough, but around month 4 fully regained confidence.
I'm about 17 months post surgery and still feels a little bit off at times, but nothing it prevents me from doing e.g. went on a 6 hour mountain bike ride last fall without any issues. Idk if I would run into issues doing long distance backpacking.

Seeing disgusting content on Twitter from charlatans really shows just how important Nostr is. A lot of info will get wiped and Dark City'd. People will play into false narratives and affinity scam since there will be no chain of costly signaling. I wrote before about the idea of relational contracting on Nostr within very narrowly defined sorts of business relationships, and even there, I couldn't fully grapple with the mechanics of how it would work. What will be more interesting however is to see cryptographic proof of what a pubkey has been thinking or at least claiming to think for a decade. Nostr may end up being just as critical to rooting out fraud in the world as bitcoin.
Imagine a world in which no one alive has ever posted anything not on Nostr. The people who think Nostr has fallen off in importance are fools who do not realize monetary transactions take place via contracts, that contract scalability is tied to relationships, and failure to have tools that sufficiently scale relationships to capture the total economic capacity in equilibrium is how the state weasels its way into existence i.e. Nostr is what outcompetes and supplants statism.

Wild to think that apps like Facebook will not simply become irrelevant, they will become historically irrelevant in the technological tapestry of the evolution of internet scaled n-to-many communication tools. They preceded nostr, but were in no way part of what might be called a "critical path".
Facebook was always a product, it is was not fundamental technology. With bitcoin, the distinction between product and technology will be obvious and the perverse aversion to the development of technology itself will disappear.
Only twitter may remain historically relevant since in its simplicity, it likely helped evoke the concept of nostr.
