Apparently Bizkaibizi is the older system and the article I linked to above talks about what people like about Bilbaobizi by comparison.
The names make me think they're owned by the city and the municipality, but I don't know if that's true.
One thing over the years that has kept me from using bikeshare is the requirement to use a phone app. So the mention on the Bilbaobizi of an NFC makes me wonder if they've got an alternative.

Two different bikeshare systems here in Bilbao. In the foreground is Bizkaibizi and in the rear around that corner is a row of Bilbaobizi bikes. I see the green Bilbaobizi bikes used more often. I don't think there's any question he's trying to formalize civil war (to some extent it's already going on). I think inherent in the idea that he needs to invoke the Insurrection Act is the idea that as powerful as they have already become, they still want people to voluntarily obey, which means needing to manufacture consent & have plausible deniability.

Which isn't outlandish, I guess, when in slang that is frequently done. "Bad", "sick", "ill" are all words that have come to be compliments in recent decades of slang.

Think of how little calling someone "a Karen" meant to most white folks for years. Eventually enough people got the sense of what it meant (and unfortunately now it's been appropriated from Black culture much as 'woke' was and distorted) that it had a lot of emotional disapproval attached to it.

It's context-dependent. The best thing to do is ask what it is one feels most offended by in the thing one is talking about - that helps zero in on what it's really about and which words actually target that.

Aw, thanks. "Stupid" (or dumb...different ableist word) is the one I am trying to make up a word to mean the loose way we use it when it's not really about IQ, but about a sort of cliffjumping foolishness and triviality.
I would like to find a word to replace it in a sentence like "this is the stupidest apocalypse". The words I try to use in its stead aren't good enough or are also ableist, so it makes sense to make up a word just for that sense of things.

It's definitely a WIP. I still struggle with it. Because even when I look for existing replacements, when I look at etymologies, they often have an ableist origin.The work has to go deeper.
It's a good project because as I'm sure you know from your line of work, language reveals a lot about what a culture thinks, values, and deplores. So it's important to learn re one's culture.
I've been trying to try on nonsense syllables that I can assign value to. I hope I find the right one.

The problem with succinct is there's often more to say. "Assistive technology", to me, puts emphasis on the tech.
But the real question to ask here is "Why do we think of people who need glasses to see as not being disabled & using an assistive device to meet their access needs, compared to other disabled people needing their access needs met who society is suspicious of and makes jump through hoops to get their access needs met?"
The answer to this gets at the frame of systemic ableism, IMO.

Friends introduced me to X. I got into them not long before "Under the Big Black Sun" was released, so "Wild GIft" was my gateway to punk/alt, etc.

I have Organic Maps loaded on both phones, but I haven't made the switch because it just is not as easy for me to use. Now that I am in a foreign country where businesses almost never have their own websites, the reviews being tied into Google Maps also makes a difference.
I don't know if OSM has a way for there to be open reviews of places, with photos of the place and menu, their wares, and their hours.
You could beat Google in Albania if you included cycle route info, too.

While I'm sure there's some truth to that, even big budget films go for the cheapest shit because mainstream films are made by major corporations that long ago lost the leadership by people who gave a shit about art.

The problem with selling your business to a larger corporation is that larger corporations don't get there by being good guys.
More founders, if they want out of the day-to-day, need to work with their employees to sell the business to them or give it to them, in my opinion.

Mildly surprised to see In These Times chalk it up to state rivalries (just another way of saying "foreigners") than up to class. "Flush with cash", esp post-pandemic, means wealthy people. Plenty of other states are no richer than Vermont. It's about class.

I was talking to an Albanian with very good English about the various languages we each speak. The subject of at which age school made us take a foreign language comes up.
This is dependent on location, age, public or private school...
Since a poll wouldn't allow that complexity, answer below as to when you first formally took a foreign language class: how old you were at the time, and whether it was a public or privately-funded school.
I was 13, in a private Catholic school.

I think lots of us have different standards for CWs. I CW for the more extreme things like mentions of self-harm that could trigger someone who has a history with it. I CW for flashing lights that could trigger epileptics. I CW for musings on matters that might be harmful for someone recovering from an eating disorder to read.
I do not CW for depressing stuff. I use hashtags for US politics so people can mute the hashtag.

The annoying m/hotel rooms whose electricity only works via the room key being in them are such a PITA.
I find that I don't do little things I need to do that are just 5 - 15 min absences because I don't want to have to shut down my computer and put things away just to prepare for the electricity being off if I leave the room.

There's a fountain here in Pogradec that is shaped like a giant open book and the "spine" is a sprayer that goes from page to page. So there's never a very deep amount of water on it and I definitely see birds and other creatures on it from time to time lapping at it.

Being "smart" doesn't mean you never commit human rights abuses or steal or rape. People keep saying foolish or ableist things indicating they believe fascism is due to low IQ. It's not.
Get used to the idea that people you consider intelligent, clever, etc. can also willingly do evil things. "Smartness" is no guarantee of goodness.
But when you chalk it up to IQ, you are making life more dangerous for folks with intellectual disabilities than it already is WHILE giving a pass to Nazis.

I've seen reactions saying, "Well, because there's no due process, I won't be allowed to prove I'm NOT mentally ill". Implicit in that framing is that it's okay to lock up mentally ill people who have not committed any crime worthy of being locked up.
Ableism becomes the door that's open a crack, which fascists will open further into full-on eugenics and mass murder.
