Does anyone else own a personal steam sauna? Has been my best purchase in 2026 by a mile. Got it off a local liquidation site for $40 to boot. If you want something to up your health and fitness game and have the space, I cannot recommend it enough.
That said, I would not buy any of them retail. Most of these are selling Chinese manufactured white label versions. You can find the same/similar models on Temu/DHGate/etc. for a fraction of the cost.

Listened to the Bitcoin Today twatter space with Keonne Rodriguez on the Samourai Wallet case today. For me, everything boils down to the fact that the SDNY ignored FinCEN's ruling that Samourai was not a money transmitter.
The fact that it did not end there tells me this was just more Biden-era lawfare against the Bitcoin slash crypto slash digital asset industry. You can tuck this in right next to the Operation Chokepoints, the assassination of Silicon Valley Bank, and the other egregious actions the Government has levied against the industry.
The facts never mattered here. In any of these things. This is abhorrent abuse of the justice (sic) system against our citizens. Especially when you realize that violators in the tradfi realm get menial fines and a slap on the wrist.

Watching the highlights and reading a couple articles on the Senate confirmation hearings makes me wonder if these should even exist any longer?
Saw pre-hearing soundbytes where Senators were asked if anything said would change their mind and they also said "No" and then saw 5+ snippets where they asked a question and then wouldn't even let the individual answer. Just an absolute embarrassment.
At this point, the spirit and purpose of the event is long gone and it is just a gross waste of taxpayer monies having all of those people there along with the expense to put said political theater on.

Moreso came out of pivot into role specialization in IT. I remember coming out of college in the early 2000s, roles were much more bucketized -- Help Desk, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator and Programmer is pretty much all we had at Sony where I took my first job. Many, many more jack of all trades, master of none types.
Then C-Suites and MBAs put on their dunc... thinking caps and ushered in specialization all over the place. Within a few years, that programmer role now was split into individual languages or technologies and we suddenly had 5x the people. Same with systems administrators, getting a mail admin, Windows admin, Linux admin, so on and so forth.
When I'm at now, we have people that know a singular language or technology and are completely fucking worthless outside of it. I'm talking lacking fundamental cursory computing knowledge to boot.
That said, all IT professionals all dead inside to some degree.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I can literally go into almost any store and gamble my money away. I can buy weed on almost any corner. In certain counties, I can go and swap cash for sexual favors. Almost any vice you can think of can be satisfied in minutes. Almost.
My state government draws the line though when it comes to personal finance and protects me from using financial services like @npub1xke…d0en. What's worse is one of my Senators (Catherine Cortez-Mastro) sits on both the Finance and Banking committees.

They can take away any communal privileges like pools, clubhouses, etc. If you don't pay your monthly assessments, they can take you to court and get a judgment to garnish wages, etc. In some states, if the arears are large enough, they can actually put a lien on your home. In extreme cases, that can force a foreclosure sale.

I'd guess I'd want to know what "spending as necessary" means to you? The "hodling forever" mantra is one of the biggest loads of bullshit in our community.
You get one life. What benefit do you get by hodling forever? Unless you already were well off and FIAT flush, the beauty of Bitcoin's gains are you and your loved ones could experience things you may otherwise not be able to.
There will be no bigger regret then sitting on your death bed and wishing you had done something but didn't because you hodled. Then if whomever you pass the BTC down to did the same thing? Sounds miserable.
Now, I will say that on your career question, if you're not passionate about any of those things you mentioned, you definitely shouldn't spend on those. But if you find something that you are, even if that is braiding friendship bracelets, by all means chase it.

I'd venture a guess that most of them are well off in FIAT terms so that is a big barrier to entry in belief?
I also tend to find that my friends that are Bitcoiners are well traveled and have often been out of the country and experienced bad money.

While I do agree the current user base is overwhelming Bitcoiners (I am one myself), this is really on those people.
If you don't follow any Bitcoiners, you do not get it in your feed. I've created alternate npubs to test this and followed users of certain hashtags and had a pretty clean feed save for users that have varied interests.
So the issue are more they 1) didn't follow people with like interests; 2) didn't post content so those people could interact and; 3) didn't interact with said content.
They are used to the algorithm doing the work for them. I will say, however, finding content can be difficult and the UX on some clients attempting to find said content is frustrating.
Bitcoiners could have easily ripped cord and went back to Twatter. The reason why Bitcoiners have stuck around is because they will put in the work. That whole Proof of Work thing is pretty important until devs mature their works and make it lazy accessible.

This is great and all, but they already have. Operation Checkpoint, veto of SAB121, what they put forth in FIT21, IRS taxing it as property, mining/energy, so on and so forth.
If you think that we can now form a parallel economy with Bitcoin now while it has now penetrated tradfi via ETFs, that is some pie in the fucking sky thinking. They aren’t just going to turn their heads and look the other way.

In business, a cost center is typically an accounting term where costs get charged. Working in IT, we're usually frowned upon by the legions of MBAs as just being cost centers and not revenue generators or protectors.
It's usually used as a scapegoat to downsize people, too.

Applying this to myself, my biggest lifting gains came when I was running with some pro bodybuilders. We set/shared goals and then held each other accountable. I feel like this was written by someone that has never stepped foot inside of a gym at the very least.

Yep. 100% concur. A Bitcoin group local to me is using Telegram but I was part of their leak last year where accounts ended up on the dark web and won't use it ever again. Several I've talked to about this don't understand and don't think it is a big deal. Incongruent values for a Bitcoiner IMO. That isn't even getting into the fact they've recently added BTC payments and have KYC on their app... nah man, I'm good.
