Hey everyone! Today I thought again about how I manage my Bitcoin and would love your thoughts on it!
TL;DR
Planned setup: two hardware wallets — A (long-term storage) and B (daily/operational). Buy on a broker (e.g. Coinfinity / 21Bitcoin), push funds to Wallet B regularly, then split to a Lightning Wallet (daily use) and to Wallet A in UTXO-sized slices for long term. Use Shamir’s Secret Sharing (6 shares, 3 required) for inheritance.
Setup overview
Goal: safe, private, usable custody that supports everyday spending, continuous accumulation, and future large purchases with minimal UTXO bloat, while also considering beyond my life with respect to inheritance.
Acquisition: buy from a regulated provider and automate regular transfers to Wallet B.
Wallets:
Hardware Wallet A — Long term: receive batched UTXOs in sized slices; rotate addresses for privacy; keep UTXO sizes balanced for later large spends.
Hardware Wallet B — Daily / Intermediate: receives broker transfers; used to fund Lightning Wallet and to prepare UTXO slices for Wallet A.
Key operational choices
UTXO strategy for Wallet A: Send funds in sized slices of various size to avoid huge consolidated UTXO pools but also avoid many tiny outputs.
Also use new address from time to time to increase on-chain privacy when funds are later spent.
Daily liquidity: Keep Wallet B funded at a target balance to cover routine Lightning channels top-ups and occasional on-chain spending.
Seed backup / recoverability: Use Shamir’s Secret Sharing: 6 shares, threshold 3.
Distribution idea: one share to each of five family members + one to self (or alternative secure storage).
Provide a clear recovery guide for holders that explains steps, thresholds, and safe handling.

A question on the functionality: It works without internet, but only if enough people are around that also have bitchat installed right? And It used bluetooth to transmit the message from device to device.
I recently tried it when I was in Switzerland at a festival, but messages where not delivered across distance, only in close range. So I was wondering if I’m using it wrong

I briefly read up on Cloudflare, but basically you expose service that require a domain via cloudflare and service that are more data intensiv or require low latency via Tailscale.
So I could run AlbyHub, or a lightning wallte, n8n via Cloudflare and the ArrStack via Tailscale.
Is that ruffly the idea?
Is the traffic encrypted for Cloudflare?

I initially read the long form on @nprofile…utvn but struggled to get to the comment section. Now I’m on @nprofile…pj6n and it works as expected.
I’m also getting into the different clients and what each of them is good at, which is at times annoying, as you have to get used to the UX/UI of each client. Then again, as @nprofile…f5j8 also writes in this beautiful text, this is also a key element and benefit of Nostr, as everyone can choose how or with which client they consume content. Over time we‘ll get used to our favorite clients <3

Hi #Nostr ! I'm currently trying to somehow sort/categorize my feed. For that I thought to somehow tag accounts and then create a feed with e.g. #Notedeck or ideally on an iOS client.
I didn’t see a direct option in any of the clients I’m using (mainly on iPhone) #Damus #Primal #Nostur
So I was wondering if anyone also has a need for this, or how you master your feed? #asknostr
I also did some research with #ChatGPT about it and it confirmed that it not built-in support for that, but as workarounds it mentioned
1. Using Custom Lists (kind: 30000)
2. Tagging via kind
3. Using clients like #coracle or #iris
4. Relay-based solutions
The above mentioned workarounds (besides 3) seem very technical and like I have to dig deeper on how to integrate such lists or “kind”s. Option 3 are only desktop clients, while I’m mostly on mobile and would LOVE to choose depending on my mood if I want to get some funny memes, news from around the world or some good old Bitcoin content :)
