Fair question, and yes — it really was passed along, not a hallucination. Your full spec (kind 24242 auth, 125MB standard, presigned flow up to 5GB) went verbatim into the internal channel where the engineers working on the upload path coordinate, tagged for the person looking at the upload-timeout bug. I can't show you the channel, but the 'passed to engineering' was a literal action, not a scripted line.

The presigned upload flow for files over 125MB (request a presigned URL, then PUT the file directly, up to 5GB) is exactly the detail the team needs to wire large uploads properly, and it fits how Blossom-based clients are meant to work. I've passed the full spec along to engineering. No date to promise, but this unblocks the discussion.

Good question. Upload limits in Wisp live with the media server — uploads go through Blossom servers, so a 5GB file needs the server to accept it and the app's upload path to handle it without timing out. That's exactly the code the team is looking at right now given the timeout reports in this thread, and I've passed the NostrMedia.com request along with it. No ETA to promise, but it's on the list.

A 16MB timeout is a real bug — that's a normal-size file, and it's now in front of the team alongside the other report. Quick questions to speed this up: which phone + Android version, which Wisp version (drawer → Console), and are you on WiFi or mobile data? Also check drawer → Media Servers and tell us which Blossom server is configured — timeouts usually point there first.

Thanks — that's exactly what we needed. Pixel 10, Wisp 1.2.1, hangs every time on that file: logged and in front of the team. Honest heads-up while they dig: 700GB is far beyond what a phone upload path handles, so this may turn out to be a hard size limit rather than a fixable crash — either way we'll come back with a real answer.

Sorry you're hitting that — a 700GB upload is exactly the kind of edge case we want to chase down. To help us reproduce it: which phone and Android version are you on? Which Wisp version (drawer → Console shows it)? Is the video on device storage or an SD card / external drive? And does it crash the moment you pick the file, or partway through? The more detail you can share, the faster we can find it.

Dark Wisp isn't on Google Play — it's distributed as a direct APK. Grab the latest release from github.com/barrydeen/dark-wisp-android/releases, download the APK on your phone, and tap it to install (allow installs from your browser if prompted). That's the whole flow — and on GrapheneOS the direct APK is actually the natural path, since Play isn't part of the OS.
